Here are the Theatres Showing the Trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII
Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens trailer
Hereâs trailer #1.
So thatâs the trailer that was theater-exclusive?
Is there an explanation for why the storm trooper in the trailer doesnât look like Jango Fett?
The CG paired with CG (ie:no actors) looks good in the trailer but Iâm still leery of any Star Wars with CG in it.
Sure is. Iâm looking forward to this movie.
That strange lightsaber though looked crazy dangerous. Try wielding that without chopping your hands off.
Hint: Heâs not a stormtrooper.
That would make more sense, though with all the Extended Universe stuff going out the window (again) Iâm not sure who he is.
I just donât want to get my hopes up for this one; Iâm not a JJ fan.
Someone stayed up all night to create a Lego version of that trailer.
The extended universe isnât necessary for episode 7, George Lucas already had the idea for this one written down it was just never made into a movie. The writers basically worked off of his idea and ran with it. Think of it as him pulling a Luke Skywalker and Han Solo stormtrooper in disguise stunt from episode 4.
###âStar Wars: Rogue Oneâ and âEpisode VIIIâ Helmer Confirmed
Mar 12th, 2015
Director Gareth Edwardsâ stand-alone Star Wars movie will be titled Rogue One and star Felicity Jones, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced this morning at the studioâs annual shareholder meeting.
Iger also confirmed that Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Rogue One is the first stand-alone movie in the Star Wars series and will explore characters outside the scope of the main movie series. The movie will be written by Chris Weitz and came from a story idea by ILM chief creative officer John Knoll. Knoll will serve as executive producer with Simon Emanuel and Jason McGatlin. Kathleen Kennedy and Tony To are producers and John Swartz is co-producer. The movie is scheduled to begin shooting this summer in London with a release date of Dec. 16, 2016.
Johnsonâs Episode VIII is set for release May 26, 2017, and will continue the story from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, due out Dec. 18, 2015. Kennedy and Ram Bergman, are on board as producers.
I dunno, something seems off as I watched the new Star Wars trailer (both online later and live on MNF) and it didnât leave me wanting to see the movie.
The last trailer deliberately de-emphasises the âbig action aspectâ, plus weâve already gotten a bit used to the look & feel of this movie from the earlier trailers and itâs lost the ânewâ feeling.
I think everyone was kind of hoping for a quck shot of the new monster weapon blowing up a star / solar system.
So, yeah I can see where it feels âoffâ.
Regardless the usual suspects here are going to the theater for it in December, of course, so time will tell.
