My hat’s off to you, Slow. I bailed on the third episode, IIRC. The whole “you can see me but no one else can” thing was just too annoying.
Saga is kind of annoying at times, and Sugar can be just as bad, but the show overall is pretty cute, and I want to know if they’re going to find a twinkle or not.
Shows like this might be better for introducing a younger person to anime, they’re cute and sweet and generally have a decent message to them.
Oh, I’m not saying it’s not an enjoyable series that others may love, I’m just saying the aforementioned device just turned me off. Others may find it cute, I just find it annoying. It’s just me.
Maybe they already have…
I like Sugar because I need something like this after trying to wrap my head around an episode of a show like Ghost Hound. I can relax and just enjoy this one for what it is.
And Cody - I think you may be right!

The hunt for a twinkle continues!
*
Saga decides to help the fairies find a twinkle and suggests a picnic in the countryside. When Sugar takes a rabbit for a ride, everyone gets lost. Turmeric shows up and points them in the right direction. For all their misadventures, they end up having a fun day together.
*
The next morning, Sugar’s plant has another bud! Salt and Pepper announce that their plants have buds as well. I was starting to think that maybe friendship between humans and fairies is the “twinkle”, and with this episode, I’m leaning more towards that, especially now that Salt and Pepper have buds too after spending the day with Saga.
LadyOfWicca I think your right about the twinkle.
Ep. 14: I think this is probably the cutest episode so far.
Pepper’s home is in an animal hospital, where a turtle is brought in not looking well. He’s not sick though, he’s just sad because he wishes deeply to be able to fly. Pepper decides to help him make his dream come true, and Sugar and Salt join in. Saga poo-poos the idea as impossible, so the fairies go off alone to help. They try very hard without success the first day, and Pepper vows she will make it happen the next day.
*
Eventually Saga gets worried about them and turns to the inventor for some things to help. She catches up to them just in time to help them stop a crow from bullying a dove the fairies and the turtle had seen earlier.
*
Without giving too much away, Pepper does help the turtle fly, the turtle saves the dove from the crow’s attack, then with Saga’s help (and an invention that actually works for once) they keep him from falling to the ground. It turns out the turtle belongs to Saga’s teacher, too.
*
This time, Saga learns something from the fairies - and Pepper’s flower had a bud starting to open at the end of the episode. It’s probably a bit predictable once you get into it, but I still enjoyed it.
I agree with you Rebecca1/2 – delightful episode!

It was refreshing to see an episode about someone other than Sugar. It was also a cute love story.
*
Pepper has a wonderful belief that strong desire can make anything come true and I like this about her. I thought Saga was a little cruel to dismiss this so adamantly and say that the fairies won’t accept reality. Ironic, because here’s a girl that can see fairies – something that only existed in fairy tales up until now and supposedly isn’t “real”. I’m glad she comes around in the end.
*
The poor turtle looked so funny with the feathers tied on him. He tried so hard! Then Pepper finds out that the dove inspired him to fly and Pepper realizes that he likes her. She becomes more determined to help him achieve his dream. I really liked the way she finally got the turtle to fly and that he was able to save the dove, as well as the way he got down from the tree. I’m glad he finally got his lady love too.
*
I think it’s really funny that Pepper’s plant is growing out of the head of a teddy bear, but I guess it isn’t any worse than Sugar’s growing out of a toy piano. It is really becoming evident what a twinkle is too.
Ep. 15
This episode was so sweet I think I’m a diabetic now.
Thanks for the warning ShawnMerrow! I’ll be ready!
Episode 15 was too sweet!

A little girl named Canon comes to stay with Grandmother Regina while her mother travels. She is just so cute, as well as being aptly named! Saga ends up spending the most time with her and she turns out to be quite a handful. Canon almost picks Sugar’s flower, causing Sugar to zealously guard it.
*
When Saga plays the piano, Canon tries to play too and Saga reprimands her for being too rough on the piano. Canon is determined to play and targets the toy piano in Saga’s room, but ends up falling out of the window. She gives everyone a good scare, but she gets down safely with the toy piano – and Sugar’s flower – intact.
*
When her mother comes to pick her up, Canon plays the toy piano for her. She practiced all day with Saga to surprise her mother and in the process, gives Saga a nice memory of her own mother. As she leaves, she tells “Saga Mommy” that she loves her. Aww!!
Ep. 15
In a way I’m not sure the little girl could see the flower. I think she just wanted to play the piano. I do agree she was very cute.
why does it say warning spoiler
Because they are talking about events that happened in that specific episode (Episode 15). That would be ‘spoiling’ the episode for people who haven’t seen it yet.
We hide the text, that way if others don’t want to read it and spoil the surprise, they don’t have to.
If you want to read it, just click on the words ‘Warning: Spoiler’ and the words will appear.
wow your right

Saga comes home to find Sugar packing for a trip. It is a one week training trip for all the apprentice season fairies. I liked how Sugar tried to fit that big lollipop into her tiny purse. Saga says that she’ll help her pack and they go over a list of what should be taken. Now how did all that fit into that little purse? I know it was magic, but still!
*
The Elder takes Ginger and Turmeric with them and it was funny to see the Elder constantly winking at Ginger.
*
At one point, Sugar tries to cool off some hot farmers and gets into trouble for making it snow.
*
They all spend the night in a toy store. Ginger tries to spend some time with Turmeric, but Salt interrupts them with a question for Turmeric and they go off together. The Elder is riding a toy train. He calls Ginger “toots” and invites her to spend the evening with him, much to her annoyance.
*
Sugar can’t sleep because she misses her bed and finds a little box that is similar. She dreams about Saga.
*
Saga’s day goes exactly as planned for a change, but she still misses Sugar.
*
All the other fairies have trained and now it is Sugar’s turn. They come to a more northern town where it is already cold. Sugar hears a weather report that snow is expected that night and then hears the townspeople say how much they dislike snow, which makes her sad.
*
The Elder tells her that the Snow Fairy has been delayed and they will have to depend on Sugar to make it snow. She isn’t sure she can do it and has no confidence in herself. Then she remembers Saga telling her to do her best and she agrees to try because she doesn’t want to disappoint Saga.
*
That night Sugar is very nervous and almost drops her flute. She plays, but nothing happens. She tries again and it snows! Everyone is happy, but then it stops. It seems that her magic isn’t strong enough after all. Then it starts to snow in earnest. The Snow Fairy has finally come and she compliments Sugar. The next day, a happy Sugar watches the children enjoy the snow and wishes she could show it to Saga.
*
Saga is home, taking a bubble bath and thinks that Sugar would laugh at her since she thinks the bubbles look like snow. They are even starting to think alike!
Ep. 17
No, matter how much Saga complained about Sugar this one shows she really cares about her. I’m glad that I don’t catch a cold as fast as anime characters do. Sugar spoon feeding Saga was rather cute.
Ep. 18
Cookies, now that is a good reason for a festival. Ah Greta no one wanted her cookies except Saga. A very cute episode.
Sorry! I fell a little behind in my watching.
ShawnMerrow -
I agree with you that Saga and Sugar have come to care for one another very much. It was sweet to see how much Saga went through in this episode on Sugar’s behalf.
Episode 17 -

Saga gets ready for Sugar’s return and even buys a variety of waffles for her, thinking that she probably hasn’t had any in a while. Very thoughtful of her. I think she really missed Sugar, even though she said it’ll be noisy again.
*
A bad storm hits and Sugar is worried that she won’t get home to Saga. She had guts trying to interrupt the Typhoon Fairy, although she got blown away, which was funny.
*
Saga hears about the storm and worries about Sugar and the other fairies. She can’t concentrate on anything, such as her piano playing or homework, and even loses her appetite. That night she leaves the window open in case Sugar comes home and she dreams about Sugar too, but she wakes up with a cold.
*
Silly Greta and her challenges – a ping pong blowing contest! This time, she actually wins because Saga has a coughing fit. She even looked surprised she won, before she got conceited about it. Poor Saga overdid it with her fever and passes out. Later, her grandmother knows something is worrying her and asks to talk about it, but Saga says it’s nothing. I don’t think her grandmother would have understood anyway. And Saga goes to sleep with a little radio next to her, still worried about Sugar. She has another dream about Sugar, but a more upsetting one this time, probably due to her fever and her worry.
*
The next morning, Saga wakes up to find Sugar playing her flute. She thinks it’s another dream until a snowflake falls on her face. Sugar is worried about her cold and apologizes for coming home late. Saga’s grandmother comes in with some soup and Saga tells her that she feels much better, and her grandmother says that she does notice a change in her. All because Sugar is back, safe and sound.
*
So funny when Sugar tries to spoon feed Saga the soup and they end up fighting good naturedly over the spoon, before laughing together. All of the fairies seem happy to be home, but I think Sugar and Saga are the happiest of all.

The Muhlenberg cookie festival is a nice tradition with a nice story behind it. All the girls looked really cute in their traditional clothes. It was really sweet that Sugar decided to spend the day with Saga because she was gone so long and it was nice to see them visit friends and give out the cookies. I liked how Saga shaped some of the cookies to match her friends. I felt bad for Greta who had a lot of cookies and no one to give them to. She even becomes a “toy” for some children.
*
When Saga and Sugar come upon Phil’s robot and aren’t sure what it is, it was cute in a funny way that Sugar got in front of Saga to protect her, even if it didn’t do much good. Phil thinks he can use it to hand out cookies and has his two friends inside with him to manipulate the arms. Saga laughs, saying that it is typical of him and tries to give them their cookies, but the robot rolls down a hill and crashes, falling apart. The boys are ok and get their cookies, while Phil wonders if he can patch the robot up.
*
Pepper gives a cookie to the baby she lives with. Basil and Cinnamon have to protect their cookies from a crow. Saga takes some time off from giving out cookies to dance with Sugar. Now, I wonder if anybody thought she might have been crazy, dancing by herself! I also felt sorry for Ginger. Whenever she wants to spend time with Turmeric, she gets stuck with the Elder. This time, he tries to give her a big “I love you” cookie, but it crumbles. Ginger leaves, saying it’s the thought that counts and the Elder now thinks that Ginger has finally accepted his feelings for her.
*
Saga only has one more cookie to give out, but can’t find Greta. Sugar helps her and they finally find her. I think Greta was a little surprised to get a cookie from her “rival”, but also gives Saga one of hers. Finally, Saga gives Sugar a snowflake shaped cookie as the fireworks start. Sugar thinks they’re pretty flowers – it’s the first time she’s ever seen fireworks. Anne and Norma eventually join them and they all watch together. Adorable episode!
