The Anime Network to Stream Urashiman Anime Series

posted on 2014-11-30 15:15 EST

1st half of Koichi Mashimo’s 1983 sc-fi anime to begin dubbed streaming in December

The Anime Network announced on Wednesday that it will begin streaming the first 26 episodes of the science-fiction comedy anime series Urashiman (Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman) by Koichi Mashimo (Blade of the Immortal, .hack//SIGN) with English subtitles on December 12.

Tatsunoko Production premiered the 52-episode anime on Fuji TV in 1983.

The Anime Network describes the story:

In 1983, a young man on the run from the police finds himself mysteriously transported to the year 2050. With no memories and newly developed superhuman powers, he finds himself recruited to join the Neo Tokyo Mobile Police Unit in order to help them take down a vicious crime syndicate known as Necrime. But will this man, now known as Ryuu Urashima, be able to take down the Necrime and find his way back to the past? Or will he be trapped in the future forever

So the English subs go up on 12/12 but when does the English dub (“dubbed streaming”) go up?

#6

Since the Newsletter doesn’t state it’ll be dubbed, and it’s never been dubbed in English before, that would be an ANN typo.
Unless Sentai decides it’s actually worth dubbing (highly doubtful considering its age) it should be sub only streaming.
