Probably just wanted a buttload of money for it since the first season was so popular.
It could also have been that Hidive while it has worldwide license to stuff it currently does not stream or translate worldwide like CR does. So the JP licensor went with CR. Hoping they eventually get on that. Streaming in one language because it’s the companies main language is not what the current competing market scape calls for. I’m thinking it’s more a finding translators for different languages. I imagine CR and Netflix eats up a lot of them in various parts of the world. Especially with CR or Sony in some form owning a lot of the worldwide anime streaming platforms.

It sucks Sentai actually put out a great dub for S1 way better then the Netflix dub in my opinion. Now we will get yet another series with seasons stuck between multiple companies with different cast for each season.
