Plot Summary: There are three known worlds—the human world, the angel world, and the devil world. The evil queen Raindevilla yearns to destroy the angel world with the help of her many devil minions. The goddess Aphrodite sends the handsome male angel Limone to the human world to awaken three Love Angels: Momoko Hanasaki, Hinagiku Tamano, and Yuri Tanima, who together become Wedding Peach, Angel Daisy, and Angel Lily. Even though they’re busy saving the world, they are still normal high school girls who find themselves falling in love. The three girls must fight to restore peace to the angel world by gathering all pieces of the Saint Something Four and defeating the evil queen once and for all, all while protecting the person most precious in their hearts.
Anyway as usual I’m watching something people got over years ago. This time it’s Wedding Peach on the online player. It’s off to a good start. Yeah yeah it’s a little too sweet and cute, and overly girly at times, but it’s still a good show. I really like the school/slice of life scenes the best, althought the magical girl fights are pretty good too. Doubt this will be as good as say Princes Tutu or Petite Princess Yucie (my favorite), but I think it’s pretty good on its own.
Monster Island dub is pretty good too. Not blowing me away like Petite Princess Yucie did, but still more then a solid dub. Hey it’s not generic sounding yah know? That’s always a plus! LOVE Larissa Wolcott as the lead, Momoko . Yes yes!
Yes yes Dragoon! She’s amazing. This show is off to a great start. Better then I thought it would be. I’m not huge on the REALLY girly stuff, but I can handle this. So you know it’s a good show .
PP and I quite enjoyed it back in the day. A little too long though, but given it’s more like in the Sailor Moon mold of a series, in comparison it’s relatively short by those standards.
For a more compact version, Pretear is a great choice (directed by my favorite, Junichi Sato). Very good series in its own right.
Yeah that’s yet another one of these magical girl shows I have to check out. Pretear is one I heard a lot about. My friend on MAL/planetzot really likes that one along with Tutu. One of these days I’ll check it out…For now though guess I’ll be watching more of Wedding Peach, hehe. It is a long kinda show, and I see the comparisons to Sailor Moon. Although i think I like this more. Then again I saw Sailor Moon soooo long ago, hard to judge.
LOL explosions…yeah this is the WRONG show for you man!
I’m dealing with the cuteness pretty well. The opening is the worst part, the show isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s sweet/sugury/cute, but not over kill. The wedding bits are a bit much.
Episode 3 Spoilers
This was probably my favorite episode so far. To see all the new housbands and wives get split apart and mad each other. Interesting and quite dramatic, especially the main wife (first one) who got possessed by the demon. Also is that some PROGRESS with the romantic tension between Yousuke? It’s kinda reset since everyone forgets what happened during the wedding, but still! Guess she won’t get that captain dude Yanagiba, but hey the goalies pretty good too right? Next episode looks like we get another one of her friends to turned into a magical girl…can’t wait
Really though this is a very girly show. You gata just take it as it is. It hasn’t gone over kill on me (yet). So I can deal with it. The story and characters are good, and that’s enough for me. Also it’s getting dramatic (but not too super-serious), which is always a plus. This is a very compelling series for some reason. Hope it doesn’t get slow mid-way through.
One small problem. Oh I had to just roll my eyes at the “she’s my queen and that’s why I’m doing this…yada yada…let me fill you guys in on the plot…yada yda…let me talk to myself for no reason” line from he main bad guy though . I mean really? Lazy writing much? I’m not asking for Shakespeare here in a long-running magical girl show, but please don’t get lazy!
I am the Love Angel…
I am Wedding Peach…
…and I am extremely angry with you!
…will forever ring in my head whenever Wedding Peach is mentioned.
It actually turned out to be fairly good, which rather surprised me.
Even though, when I first subscribbed to TAN it was almost half way through the series, this was actually my introduction into the Magical Girl genre (along with Nurse Witch Komugi).
ADV’s tagline for this was “Move Over Sailor Moon, There’s A New Magical Girl In Town!”. I believe they licensed and released this right around the time the Sailor Moon rights expired. It’s good for what it is just don’t try to hard to like it and watch to at least the second half before giving up on it. The DX OVA’s make it a shame they did not do more of the show.
From what everyone is saying maybe I should give this a second and more thorough chance. I have absolutely zero problems with girly anime (I mean after all, I sat through the love fest and flowers anime Hellsing), but the wedding thing gives me the whole “come on … really?” feeling.
Yeah the wedding thing is the thing that bothers me. I feel the same way VercigenariX. But give it another shot, it’s not as bad as you’d think. I do think “oh…come on ‘weddings’ really? REALLY”. But hey it works lol.
Episode 4
It was interesting to see them just kinda toss Yuri into being a magical girl out of nowhere, but whatever . It worked . And I liked the little drama between her and her mother, with the wedding dresses being all messed up and such. Interesting. WHen she slapped the duaghter I was like “waooh”. LOL. Slap out of nowhere! Those always get me. Utena had a few slaps that come out of nowhere and surprised me as well. I think the next episode will be even better though, I want to see this drama with Hinagiku’s parents and I want to see her become a magical girl. I think she’s my favorite character so far.
You’re not the only one! I just saw the last episode on VOD. The story ended really well, but I’ll miss it. It seemed like it could go on forever.
Did it bother anyone else that these kids had a mock wedding ceremony and they’re only in JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL??? Geez. And, not only that, but the person that married them was another JUNIOR HIGH student! I realize that it was a pretend thing, but for crying out loud, she had a wedding dress and was wearing the Saint Something Four, that made it seem pretty real. And then at the end… poor Salvia had no guy… although she was pretty much a bitch all along.
It really didn’t bother me. Kids have pretend weddings all the time. The only thing that was weird was that they did it in a church. For me, the wedding just reinforced the fact that angels and devils really can get along. As for Salvia - she got Jama-P!
