Updated

Surprising lack of Showgate titles this quarter.

Also it looks like Sentai’s been light on the announcements because they scored the Kadokawa titles this cour?

(KanColle, Testament of Sister New Devil, Isuca)

As of yet, they haven’t ever licensed a Kodansha title, but Unlimited Fafnir might be theirs.

Looking at the available territory list as well as it being a King Records title, it’s also possible they have Fafner Exodus.

I was toying with the idea that Sentai picked up Fafner Exodus and thought about an amusing conspiracy theory.
What if Sentai picked up Fafner Exodus before FUNi had a chance to, and FUNi’s licensing landslide was the result of a retaliation for picking up one of “their” titles.

Well wouldn’t any decent contract have a “Right of First Refusal” agreement on any sequel series to a show you licensed?

*That’s what it is, they licensed S1 directly from Production IG, so the 1st season contract would have been with them. King Records holds the rights to the new season, so that might be why.

I mean it’s probably the reason Funi got the new Black Butler title awhile back, even though it’s an Aniplex produced title.

It wasn’t a serious musing, merely something amusing I thought when I was thinking about reasons why Sentai would pick it up even though FUNi’s S1 & Movie licenses are relatively new.
Hence why I called it a “conspiracy theory”.

Hmm…interesting…

If it is, then introductions between Sentai and Kodansha were handled by TBS, since Unlimited Fafnir is one of the shows they are airing and has the TBS logo in the end credits. This is a good thing if they got it.

If they start going after Kodansha titles, I’d do cartwheels if they picked up Magimoji Rurumo.

These is a title from 2007 just licensed by RightStuf Company.

As far as I know, these threads are strictly for anime series that are either continuing simulcasts or new simulcasts.
He doesn’t include old series, or simulcasted live-action.

I figured as much, but I wanted to put it somewhere.

All good Slowhand. I just use this thread for the current stuff.
