I kinda want to see the dub, but don’t want to get attached to it, for VRV reasons…

I kind of want to subscribe to Funi for that ,but I’ll probably just wait to it’s out of home video .

I’m noticing a trend that when Funi dubs a “B list” show, they can go all-out on the dub adaptation, but when they dub a hype show they’re sticking to the script like white on rice and doing an ultra-conservative translation.
So with Zombie Land Saga being kinda on the cusp between hype show and not, I am a little curious to see which way it’ll go.
Also I wonder about singing in it, because a modern show where the dub doesn’t cut back to the Japanese singer would be interesting.

I’m guessing that there are too many factors in a simulidub to deal with the singing. They may only do the singing if they decided to do more dubbing work for the home video release (assuming they’re allowed to do so in the first place)

Translating from Japanese to English is a virtual black art, when it comes to music & lyrics it goes full on snowball-in-hell difficultly. I don’t think Funimation would want take on that along with all the simul-dub work.

Ep 2 of the simuldub is up and Funi left the Japanese audio in for the songs after all.
It’s a little unfortunate as Ep 2 is the rap genre and Japanese rapping doesn’t work so well IMO.
