For a limited time, Toho Animation has posted the first of their AkaKill! Theater web animation short spin-off of this summer’s Akame ga Kill! anime on Youtube.
The first volume of the series will be released October 15th, The limited edition will feature a 100 page original manga story and a special sleeve with art by character designer Nakamura Kazuhisa.

Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku Member Rika Mayama Makes Solo Singer Debut with “Akame ga Kill!” New OP Song

1st single “Liar Mask” will be released on November 26
It was officially confirmed yesterday that Rika Mayama, 17-year-old member of Japanese girls idol group Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, shortened to Ebichu, will make her solo singer debut with “Liar Mask,” the second OP theme song for the ongoing TV anime Akame ga Kill!. The news was reported by the anime staff who appeared in her live-broadcasting program on Ustream. This is not her first anime-related job, for she was playing Shizuka Kisarazu in the spring 2014 TV anime Nanana’s Buried Treasure as her first anime voice role. The CD single “Liar Mask” is scheduled to be released in Japan on November 26.
Meanwhile, Sora Amamiya, who is voicing the heroine character Akame and singing the first OP song “Skyreach,” will perform the as-yet-titled second ED song.

Production company TOHO began streaming the first “Akame ga KILL! Gekijō” flash animation short on Sunday.
Tatsumi: Ieyasu…Sayo…What should I do now?

Anime series prepare to introduce new characters
Given the brutal nature of the series, only readers of the series’ manga will be able to guess how long they stick around, but the Akame Ga Kill! anime is prepared to introduce two new characters. Kaori Nazuka (Code Geass’ Nunnally, Eureka 7’s Eureka) is assassin armed with an appearance changing cosmetics box Chelsea while Shintarō Asanuma is “Lightning Speed” Susanoo.
