12th, 13th Akame ga KILL! Gekijō shorts also streamed

The official website for the Akame ga KILL! television anime began streaming the television commercial for the second cours (quarter of a year) of the series on Monday. The video features the opening theme song “Liar Mask” for the second cours by Rika Mayama. (The 13th episode just aired this weekend.)

The website is also streaming the 12th and 13th “Akame ga KILL! Gekijō” (Akame ga KILL! Theater) shorts:

The 12th short shows more of the Night Raid TV Shopping mail-order show and will be available until October 5. The 13th short reveals the team’s new secret headquarters and will be available until October 12.

Akame ga KILL! adapts the manga series written by Takahiro with art by Tetsuya Tashiro. The dark action fantasy manga follows the title character, Akame, a girl who was bought, and raised by the Empire as an assassin. After meeting Akame, a boy named Tatsumi vows to stand up to the evil of the corrupt Empire with the secret assassin group Night Raid and special weapons known as Teigu.

The ongoing anime premiered this past July. Sentai Filmworks licensed the series in North America. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

Akame ga Kill Gekijō’s 14th Short Movie Puts Cast in Dating Sim

Tatsumi and Esdeath are reimagined in an island dating sim

Production company TOHO began streaming the fourth “Akame ga KILL! Gekijō” (Akame ga KILL! Theater) flash animation short on Sunday. The video reimagines Tatsumi and Esdeath in the game “Maji de Esdeath ni Koi Shinasai! Mujintō-hen” (Please Love Esdeath Truly! Deserted Island Arc). The game plays out like a dating simulation where Tatsumi is given choices, but they have no effect on the scenario or are ignored in favor of what Esdeath would want. The short streams until October 19.

Having played quite a few Bishojo Games, The short was was hilarious.

So they took a joke from the real episode today and ran with it. Funny.

Q) Speaking of which any plans to dub Akame ga Kill? Its one of the things I’m most looking forward to.

A) It’s a good performer, so if we were to make a list, I’m sure it would be somewhere near the top.

Q) Do you guys think you will do any kind of special box set for Akame Ga Kill when that is eventually released

A)

That’s not really an answer, but Esdeath, aka Zakuro-chan all grown up (For those of you who’ve seen semi-eclectic Media Blasters releases), is awesome so I’ll take that as a “yes”.

Sentai, I’m streaming this one. I’m practically simulcasting it (gasp!). It’s among the best of what you’ve snagged in 2014 (take that as you will). You gotta dub it: don’t let a bro down

How long before that last character is killed off?

Manga Spoilers

as of around Ch.52 only Tatsumi, Mine, Leone, Akame, and Najenda are left of Night Raid. Mine is in the Ultimate showdown with Esdeath to try and save Tatsumi from being executed.

Didn’t really answer my question, as when I asked it, I don’t even know if the character I was asking about was a Night Raid member or not. Actually, it seems the character in question is not going to be part of Night Raid, and if she is, I’m curious to how she joins in the first place. Too bad she appeared at the very end.

Though I will say this about the latest episode (18) Three of those characters being added, then killed in the same episode, that was damn quick, considering a few seemed interesting enough to stay a few episodes at least

I will say something else: I hinted that Tatsumi and Akame have plot armor in this series. HOWEVER! Another manga I’m currently reading on CR, has me wondering if my reasoning for Akame having plot armor being false? It seems there are writers who will not make the title character immune to death… And with the rate of killing this show has…

I wasn’t sure about this one at first as I wasn’t taking to it’s ratio of seriousness to silliness but I’m liking this one now.

I’m not sure how they’ve managed to have the gore and violence uncensored though. The macabre scene with “not-so-Super Sonico” in particular.

The next episode (20) they decided to jump ahead and are heading for:

Mine vs. Esdeath for Tatsumi’s life ending
