Episode 12 –
Spoiler
The team ends up at the survival game field just as the sun is setting. Tachibana has challenged Matsuoka to a duel. Matsuoka says that he isn’t obligated to accept the challenge, but Yukimura goads him into accepting. Yukimura will oversee the duel.
Matsuoka is determined not to lose, but he can sense Tachibana’s bloodlust. He thinks that Tachibana is out for revenge for kicking him off the team and Matsuoka blames himself for causing Tachibana to become this way. Matsuoka ends the game quickly, by shooting Tachibana. Tachibana seems surprised, but I don’t know why he should be since he’s such a terrible shot.
Matsuoka is about to claim victory and his prize of having Tachibana never come near Toy Gun Gun ever again, but Tachibana demands another game, saying that he never said it would be only one round. Matsuoka is backed into a corner with this and can only agree. He also decides to give up on TGC. He is tired of losing to Midori.
The games seem to go on forever with Tachibana getting hit every time. But Tachibana refuses to give up and keeps asking for another round. Matsuoka doesn’t understand why Tachibana wants to keep going. Isn’t he tired of losing? Once again, Matsuoka thinks of Midori. He feels the situations are similar and agrees to one last game, telling Tachibana that he will never win no matter how many times they play.
Matsuoka finally realizes that Tachibana doesn’t hate him or want revenge when Tachibana tells him that he just wants to be part of Toy Gun Gun and beat Midori’s team at TGC. But Matsuoka doesn’t understand this. Tachibana trips and falls. Matsuoka stands over him, aiming his gun, asking why Tachibana wants to be part of this so badly. Tachibana simply tells Matsuoka that he saw that he was in pain after TGC ended and that he just wanted to save a friend that was hurting.
Matsuoka should have sot Tachibana when he had the chance. Tachibana got away as Matsuoka considered his words. One of his guns is already out of ammo too. One way or another, this really is going to be a final battle. Funny that they both end up on either side of the same wall. Getting angry, Tachibana says that he won’t let anyone else have his spot on the team and manages to get to the top of the wall.
As Matsuoka and Tachibana both aim at each other, Matsuoka wonders what happened to Tachibana’s “righteousness”. Where has this lunatic come from? Tachibana tells Matsuoka that he can run all her wants but he will never let him go. Matsuoka calls a draw and will give Tachibana thirty seconds to get away. Tachibana agrees and runs into the trees.
Matsuoka finally admits to himself that he lost people in his life simply because he was afraid of reaching out to them and getting rejected. The end of the thirty seconds finds Tachibana standing in front of Matsuoka. He laughs as he runs towards Matsuoka with his gun. Matsuoka says that hopeless move will never work at TGC. But Matsuoka is crying now and can’t see to aim. Tachibana wins!
Once Yukimura joins them, Tachibana claims his prize of wanting Matsuoka to say something. Asking Matsuoka to remember what he said after they played their first survival game, he requests that Matsuoka say it again. Embarrassed and holding out his hand, Matsuoka says, “Join my survival team, and we’ll become the strongest team in Japan.” Tachibana, laughing, takes Matsuoka’s hand and accepts. Blushing, Matsuoka pulls his hand away.
But now Tachibana wants Matsuoka and Yukimura to make up and Yukimura refuses. Matsuoka always cared about those that left him and never even realized that Yukimura was the one to remain by his side all this time. Matsuoka admits to taking Yukimura for granted and thanks him for getting mad at him. They make up and suddenly Matsuoka feels that Yukimura is a little too close for comfort, especially when he tells Matsuoka that he will never let him go again! LOL
The guys begin to make plans to beat Midori’s team and Matsuoka suddenly wonders why Tachibana, a guy, can make his heart pound. The next day, Tachibana says that she isn’t afraid anymore. Is she finally going to tell the others that she’s a girl? She bumps into Matsuoka and Yukimura as they leave their apartments and wishes them a good morning. And that’s it! I really enjoyed this series and I really need to see more!
