Azur Lane debuts on Thursday
Ep 1. I was a lot disappointed with Ep.1. It looks like it’s going to parallel WWII. Consider ep 1 to be the attack on Pearl Harbor. I was expecting a bit more out of this one. Arpeggio of Blue Steel and KanColle both started off better than this. That’s just me though.

FWIW my pals who play the game tell me that the game’s story will diverge from generic WW2. However, they’re predicting disappointment because of it looking to be set up along faction lines, minimizing the appearances of select characters.
I’m willing to try getting the WW2 elements out of the way first, because I wasn’t the biggest fan of KanColle turning into a thinly-veiled WW2 analogy towards the end.
I didn’t care enough for KanColle to watch it to the end. This might fall into that trap as well.
