It’s similar. The results will be analyzed separately from the Facebook survey, so if you took that one, please also take this one as well.

The reason for this survey is to get a better look at our users’ habits and consumer trends. This information helps us tailor our advertising and other marketing decisions to better suit our various audiences.

Oh, and ā€œgenericā€ is just fine as a response.

Thanks to everyone who has participated thus far!

The question ā€œHow many televisions can receive Anime Networkā€ seems like it does not belong.
My answer: 1, if I connect my laptop to its S-Video input.

I know there are some televisions with built-in Internet capability, and Home Media Centers, but the question implied viewing the linear (24x7) channel.

Also I purchased 5 CDs in the last year, but the only acceptable answers were an average of 0 per month or 1 per month. ā€œ0.5ā€ per month would have been more accurate.

I think with this question they were referring to the VOD channel. TAN no longer has a linear channel, and a set top box is usually required for access to VOD service. Not to mention, many receivers require a special receiver to access VOD content. A lot of homes do not have the box on each TV.

I put 0 for that since Comcrap ditched TAN for that other guy with the video issues.

And that is why I ditched Comcast! And I tell them that every time they call my house and try to get me to switch back!

cough.

one of the characters in dragoon’s picture up there is actually a trap. Do you know which one?

Seriously, still can’t believe you guys bought that show lol…

No these are subtitled since a lot of anime fans are not helping support the industry.

Tommy why not? These types of titles have always sold to the previous ADV base of buyers. There are Shinbo fans in Houston, and so are many of us who buy DVDs.

I followed Anime Network’s suit and posted on my blog my own story on it too, below:
Anime Network has just added Popotan, Dokkoida!?, Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy anime series to the Anime Network Online Player. Episode 1 of Popotan and Dokkoida!? are both freely available (free to register on the site), while subsequent episodes will be added every week for premium members.

Popotan is perhaps best known as the Caramelldansen internet meme - it began in mid-to-late 2006 as a flash animation loop of Popotan characters, Mai and Mii dancing to a sped up version of Caramelldansen, performed by the Swedish music group Caramell.
I’ve had a chance to watch all three new shows. Sugar was cute, and had some nice art work, but I don’t see myself watching the whole series. I’m sure the younger crowd will really enjoy this though. Dokkoida shows some promise. I’ve only watched the first episode, but I did enjoy it. Popatan was also pretty good. I think I’ll be watching that series as well.

So, I will finally get to see the infamous Popotan? Good, I’ve been interested in this since Sentai announced it a while back. I will probably pick up the DVDs at some point at well.

Make that famous!

I’m surprised Sentai and Section23 aren’t pushing some marketing with the Caramelldansen meme somehow, or at least mentioning it somewhere. With how popular and widely seen it is, could snag a few potential buyers who might not have otherwise have bought it. I’m gonna take a look at my google analytics in the next few days to study how the Caramelldansen inclusion has affected my story.

I can’t wait to watch all 3 shows myself, as I haven’t seen any of these yet.
