New Updates on the Online Player

Get Backers, Pet Shop of Horrors Premiere and other new updates on the Online Player

http://www.theanimenetwork.com/News/87-NEW-stuff-on-the-Online-Player.html

Hey guys! We’ve just put up a bunch of new stuff on the Online Player, so you might want to go check it out sometime soon. New stuff added includes:

Petshop of Horrors

There is a very unique pet shop in Chinatown. Be careful of what you get though because a lot can go wrong. You must follow the rules get out in the contract that you sign from the pet shop owner or beware. There has been a string of unexplainable deaths from customers of this pet shop occurring so Detective Orcot sets out to find out why.

Parasite Dolls

In a world where perfect androids called boomers have infiltrated every aspect of society, it’s the job of the Branch to maintain peace between the people and the plastic. Unfortunately, not all boomers are created perfect and when boomers go bad, people die!

Bast of Syndrome

The year is 2097 and in the city of Xenon, the ultimate cyber game, where players fight as bio-mechanical cyber robots, has been created. But something’s wrong. To solve this mystery, the creator of the game assembles a “Dream Team”, the top three young gamers in all of Xenon. This team of rebellious, arrogant teens must overcome their attitudes and fears to find the answers to the mystery that are much bigger than the game.

Conduct Zero

Conduct Zero, a hormonal hilarity live-action movie like no other. Joong-pil is a jerk. So when the innocent, yet delightfully fiesty, Min-hee throws him a hormonal curveball, Joon-pil is ill-prepared to face life’s nastiest little test question of all – for love or lunch money?

GetBackers

Ban Mido and Ginji Amano are a recovery duo infamously known as the “Get Backers.” Ban possesses two special powers: the “Snake Bite” (his hands have a gripping power of 200kg) and the “Evil Eye” (anyone who looks into his eyes will be locked into a powerful and nightmarish hallucination). Ginji, on the other hand, has the ability to generate thousands of volts of electricity from his body. Together, they run a freelance business of recovering anything lost or stolen from a client - and they claim a 100% success rate at their job.

What are you waiting for? Go check 'em out! See ya there!
ADV never picked up any Appleseed before.

Appleseed Ex Machina is by Warner Brothers. They hired ADV/Amusement Park Media for the production and dubbing.

The old 80s OVA is held by Manga Ent.

No Warner Bros has the second one .
ADV did the dubbing for them.

Yeah, now I remember.

Wonder what new trailers they’ll have on the dvd?
New yummy stuff I hope?

We may find out more stuff in the coming months. There are a couple of big conventions coming up and we know that ADV/Sentai and Switchblade will be making an announcement next month at ACEN. It might be focused on Live Action though in that convention announcement. However, Anime Boston and Anime Expo are also coming up!

Bento Beatbox returns to Anime Network! (Premiere)
JRockRevolution and Anime Network Premiere the new Bento Beatbox

Several years ago, the cult-followed program Bento Beatbox by Sony / Tofu records broadcasted a variety of Japanese music videos through Anime Network – After a haitus, Anime Network and JRockRevolution.com are now Premiering the return of Bento Beatbox throughout all Anime Network VOD cable and satellite operators as well as 6 million households in Southern California through United Television Broadcasting.

Bento Beatbox will feature 4-6 new music videos from Jrock and Visual Kei artists that will be touring or releasing albums in the U.S. and will be hosted by Xion, lead vocalist for the Los Angeles/Japan rock band, VAEIDOS.

The 30 minute premier of the new Anime Network/JRockRevolution Bento Beatbox presents 5 music videos from: Gackt, VAMPS, Angelo, LUNA SEA and Deluhi.

About the artists: (Information courtesy of JRockRevolution.com)

Gackt
Our first introduction goes to Gackt, known for his start in the Visual Kei band Malice Mizer back in the 90’s, this famous front man has enjoyed a very successful solo career known as “Gackt JOB”. Drawing upon multiple talents, Gackt is also known for his modeling career as well as his acting prowess in several commercials, television shows, and films.

VAMPS
Founded in 2008 by Hyde (L’arc en Ciel vocalist) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust guitarist), VAMPS entered the music scene seemingly by storm. In the summer of 2008, VAMPS released their first single “Love Addict” and followed with a 46-show tour.

Angelo
Angelo was formed in August of 2006 by ex-PIERROT : Kirito, KOHTA, and Takeo. Their first single “REBORN” was released in November 2006 and was soon followed by their second single “WINTER MOON” in early 2007. Their premier album “REBIRTH OF NEWBORN BABY” was soon after released in April of 2007.

LUNA SEA
It is a rare occasion to find a long-standing band that has maintained a solid line-up for the entirety of their career. However, LUNA SEA—originally Lunacy—is one of those gems alongside being what most would consider one of the most influential rock bands in Japan’s history.

Deluhi
Created in January of 2008, Deluhi’s members consist of Juri (vocals), Leda (guitar), Aggy (bass), and Sujk (drums). Not wasting any time, they put out their first mini-album “SURVEILLANCE” the following month and followed with their first live the same month. After touring several Tokyo venues during Spring of 2008, their first single “ORION ONCE AGAIN” was released in July.
