We’ll be watching the Caribbean Sea for tropical development as we head into next week.
Yeah, but Hurricane season ends. Tornado season runs from January 1st to December 31st every year.
Ah, Yes. The Christmas Tornado. Makes me glad I moved to Florida.

Oh boy how about them Oklahoma tornadoes at 4:00 a.m. in the morning LOL
That hook isn’t something you want to see when you look at your radar
The tornado sirens woke me up and I turned on the News on Six. Alan Crone, the morning show meteorologist, was anchoring the severe weather coverage. A few minutes after I started watching, Travis Meyer, the chief meteorologist, took over coverage, having rushed to the station. That’s the Tulsa equivalent of having Jim Cantore show up in your town. don’t get me wrong–Alan is a great meteorologist. In a big event, each of the meteorologists has a strength that they play to. Alan runs the radars and Travis does the on-screen analysis. They also have a team of storm chasers that are truly in the thick of things, driving like madmen all over northeastern Oklahoma following things like the hook OWD illustrates.
I don’t know what the final tally is. That takes the National Weather Service sending out trained personnel to evaluate the damage to determine if it was caused by straight line winds or by a tornado.
Bottom line–what a way to waste the extra hour of sleep I was supposed to get!
LOL 100% feel the same way
I’m over in the Tulsa Hills area where they were seeing rotation and power flashes. Ended up going down in the metal box in the garage for the first time since living here.
I actually woke up to the sirens over in Sapulpa going off before the ones in my area went off. I was the only one awake at the time.
Good Times, Good TImes. Such memories.

There are two tornado warned storms around Oklahoma City right now. It looks like it’s going to be another interesting evening for OWD and me
