New ‘Ben 10′ Series Set for Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network is introducing a brand new Ben 10 to the next generation of fans with a new series based on the globally popular alien-powered kid hero. The show is being produced by Cartoon Network Studios and will premiere on CN’s international channels in the fall of 2016, with a North American premiere in 2017. Man of Action will executive produce for Cartoon Network Studios, and John Fang (Mixels, Generator Rex) will serve as supervising producer.

The latest animated iteration of the franchise will re-introduce energetic, fun-loving, 10-year-old Ben Tennyson. At the core of the new Ben 10 is action, excitement and all-around fun with both fan-favorite and brand-new aliens. The series kicks off with Ben, his cousin Gwen and Grandpa Max as they travel the country during summer vacation. When Ben finds the mysterious Omnitrix, a world of alien superpowers opens up to him.

CN Unveils Re-launched ‘Powerpuff Girls’

Cartoon Network unveiled at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas the first look at Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup from the all-new series The Powerpuff Girls, slated for a 2016 global launch.

Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, the series will feature the voices of Amanda Leighton as Blossom, Kristen Li as Bubbles, Natalie Palamides as Buttercup and Tom Kenny, reprising his role as the Narrator-Mayor.

The new series will be executive produced by Nick Jennings, who won an Emmy for his work on Adventure Time, and Bob Boyle creator of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! will co-executive produce.

To support the worldwide launch in 2016, Cartoon Network is assembling a roster of licensing partners to create a full consumer products program for the franchise. Spin Master will anchor the program, creating a line of toys including plush, figures and playsets, dolls and more available worldwide in fall 2016.

Additionally, in North America, Penguin Young Readers Group will debut a series of books based on The Powerpuff Girls in fall 2016 as part of the Cartoon Network Books imprint, and Disguise will launch costumes for kids, juniors and adults, as well as year-round dress-up toys and accessories for kids, also available in fall 2016. Warner Home Video will distribute the series’ home entertainment releases.

The Powerpuff Girls is one of Cartoon Network’s most enduring original series. Created by Craig McCracken, the series premiered in 1996 and earned two Emmy Awards along with five nominations and countless animation honors throughout its 78-episode run. The series also spawned a feature film with Warner Bros. Pictures in 2002.

OK Just so everyone knows, Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong, and E.G. Daly weren’t even approached about reprising their Roles for the new show (and all 3 of them wanted to do it)

and here’s the proof:

Indeed it is. If only CN would give it more airtime.

I agree 100%.

I wish they would!!!

The general consensus seems to be that CN is beginning to wean viewers away from the older 2010 series (AT & RS) to make room for new ones. We Bare Bears is likely the next debut.

Well speak of the devil…

Comedy Series ‘We Bare Bears’ Debuts July 27 on CN

The animated comedy series We Bare Bears will premiere July 27 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

The Cartoon Network Studios series will air in a regular timeslot of Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

We Bare Bears is about three brothers trying to fit in and make friends — which can be kind of hard to do when you’re a bear. Grizzly (Eric Edelstein), Panda (Bobby Moynihan) and Ice Bear (Demetri Martin) are fairly savvy about the modern world: they’re masters of the selfie, fans of the food truck and chasers of Internet fame. Yet, they have a lot to learn about the trendy residents that surround their humble Bay Area cave.

Created by Annie Award-winner Daniel Chong (Toy Story of Terror!), We Bare Bears was developed as part of Cartoon Network Studios’ global, award-winning shorts program where its original short won the “Young Amsterdam Audience Award” in 2014 at the prestigious KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival.

6:30 P.M is a good timeslot but considering the Summer at 6 promotion, one has to wonder if WBB is participating in that.

EDIT: Added clip

Yes, we named him Ice because most kids these days wouldn’t know what the word “Polar” means. sigh

Apparently Grizzly and Panda pass the test but kids are unintelligent to know what a polar bear is.

Kid Brain used White Out on Ice. It was super effective.

On a separate note, these Steven Universe episodes this week are really good. Wednesday’s was nightmare fuel.

That’s cause Polar Bears don’t exist anymore.
You know, global warming and what not.
Right Al?

I’m sure somewhere along the way this was Uncle Grandpa’s fault.
