Cartoon Network / Adult Swim / HBO Max News [Ex: Toonami]

The backdoor schedule is still a couple of days away from showing that date.

Yes it is.

From http://www.nickandmore.com/2013/11/08/naruto-shippuden-joins-adult-swim-in-january-2014/:
VIZ Media has announced that the anime series Naruto: Shippuden will join Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim in January 2014.

The series aired in America on Disney XD for 97 episodes between October 2009 and October 2011.

The press release notes that “North American fans can catch dubbed and uncut adventures featuring the world’s most popular ninja from the beginning with a new episode airing each week,” indicating that the show will start over from the beginning, though will feature scenes cut from the Disney XD broadcasts.
Now this I can get behind. I think Naruto IMO had warn out its welcome when Toonami got it because of CN airing it so much during the time they aired it so Shippuden is a welcome addition since Toonami will undue the unnecessary damage caused by DXD toward the viewers.

From http://www.nickandmore.com/2013/11/08/cartoon-network-expands-hours-back-to-10pm/:

Cartoon Network Expands Hours Back to 10pm
Cartoon Network is gaining an hour back from Adult Swim. The kids network will regain the 9-10pm hour starting next Monday, November 11.

This will be the first time Cartoon Network programming fills the 9pm hour since giving up the time to Adult Swim on December 27, 2010.

Cartoon Network’s Twitter account states that this will last through the end of the year.

Episodes of Regular Show and Adventure Time will fill the hour at last for next week.
Sterling Armstrong-Cate: Shading was missing, they had JUST started on the background detailing, placeholder backgrounds were used, very basic coloring was used (you can tell, especially with Muscle Man’s eyes and Rigby’s fur), lines were messy and some had pixels around them to mark them so they would know when the detailed coloring would commence later in production, the fade from the ray of light at the end wasn’t animated and just went from the colored light back to the regular colors, etc.
Boomerang Breaks Ad-Free Boundaries
The Biggest Move in the Network’s History

Boomerang’s most avid fans will recall Saturday, November 23, 2013 as the day Boomerang was no longer ad-free, and went up to compete with other spin-off franchises from larger networks (Disney XD, Nicktoons, TeenNick). On that day, real advertisements joined every commercial break, and Boomerang US became the last of its kind to attract advertisers. However, there are both good and bad outcomes that followed the other international Boomerang networks that once made the switch in early rounds. In that respect, we think that the benefits and nightmares that followed from past results should be divided into a detailed pros and cons list, to present the moves that Boomerang may decide to carry through in the future to impress the newfound advertisers.
This makes it clear they are quickly trying to right the ratings bomb that was Chima. I don’t think many of us thought it was gonna happen but hoped it would. Good to see this come to fruition. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.phphttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy110.gif

The Girls Are Back In Townsville!

The Powerpuff Girls Save the World Before Bedtime Again In All-New Special

Beatles Legend Ringo Starr Joins Original Voice Cast Catherine Cavadini, Tara Strong, E.G. Daily, Roger L. Jackson, Tom Kane and Tom Kenny in “Dance Pantsed”

Global Launch Begins with U.S. Premiere on January 20 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network

“Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice…plus a dash of mysterious Chemical X” were the essential ingredients that created Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup—also known as The Powerpuff Girls. This groundbreaking and Emmy®-winning series, created by Craig McCracken, recently celebrated its 15-year anniversary on Cartoon Network and will soar again as a brand-new, redesigned and re-imagined CG special where the trio of pint-sized super heroines will be called upon to rescue not just the city of Townsville, but the world, all before bedtime! “Dance Pantsed” is set to premiere in the U.S. on Monday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network and will roll-out internationally beginning in February. The special features the original voice cast reprising their roles: Catherine Cavadini as Blossom, Tara Strong as Bubbles, E.G. Daily as Buttercup, Roger L. Jackson as Mojo Jojo, Tom Kane as The Professor and Tom Kenny as The Mayor with a special guest appearance by Beatles legend Ringo Starr as Fibonacci Sequins, Townsville’s most famous flamboyant mathematician. In addition, Ringo Starr performs an original music video and song “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.”

In “Dance Pantsed,” why is Mojo Jojo kidnapping a mathematician, an opera singer and a badger? To steal Chemical X, of course, and to finally take over Townsville. But when the Powerpuff Girls thwart his plan, he invents an evil video game called “Dance Pants R-EVILution” to control their minds and bodies to fulfill his evil plot! The Professor must visit his dark dancing past to save his girls so they can save all of Townsville!

Leading-up to the premiere of “Dance Pantsed,” Cartoon Network is showcasing ten classic episodes of The Powerpuff Girls for a five-hour marathon on Sunday, January 19 beginning at 12 p.m. (ET/PT). Can’t get enough of The Powerpuff Girls? Fans will also enjoy an all-new mobile game launching January 2014. Players can become their favorite Powerpuff Girl and play through action-packed levels, fight hordes of evil robots and unlock power upgrades to defeat Mojo Jojo.

“Dance Pantsed” is produced by Cartoon Network Studios in association with UK’s Passion Pictures. Dave Smith serves as director and Kevin Dart as art director.
Well, this is disturbing.

Really are against airing the Anime here.

BTW, what do they mean when they say “CGI special”? Does that mean instead of having the computer-animated 2d stuff that PS&G parodied they’re going to have cel-shaded 3d models?

Was Spongebob always the mayor?

Know what else is? Give this a read.

Do you think CN is behind the times excluding girls or is their boy logic right?

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/16/paul-dini-on-cartoon-networks-programming-decisions-and-why-boy-viewers-are-valued-over-girlsPaul Dini on Cartoon Network’s Programming Decisions and Why Boy Viewers Are Valued Over Girls

Sigh. Anyone who is willing to forgo the girls’ toy market is an idiot: the massive barbie isle, the isle so blindingly pink that boys instinctively wish to avoid, is not found at every toy-selling store ever because girls don’t buy toys.

I wish they’d get back to making cartoons where both the female and male characters are competent. The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest is the last cartoon that I can remember where the main female character could actually do something without the male characters having to be useless. Benton Quest was a father who was actually competent, which is never seen today, and Race Bannon was the classic “badass with morals” that we don’t see today. Even Race’s old flames were shown to be capable.

But that article makes it pretty clear that CN isn’t interested in a cartoon which provides positive role models for girls and boys. Reading that article, CN is as single-minded about toy sales as anime companies are about DVD sales, and both are willing to make bad decisions due to their single-mindedness.

Though I just can’t accept live action on cartoon network. It feels wrong to me.

Also Craig McCracken has nothing to do with the special.

That might be a good thing.
