Boomerang June: “Chowder,” “Mystery Inc.” Join; “Foster’s” Returns; Many Shows Leave

However, the bigger story is how many shows are leaving. As the network approaches an upcoming rebrand, the following shows will leave the regular line-up after June 1st:

**Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Tom & Jerry Kids, Hero: 108, Pebbles & Bamm Bamm, Ed, Edd ‘n Eddy, Ben 10, Ben 10: Omniverse, Teen Titans, The New Scooby-Doo Movies, Pixie & Dixie, MGM elements, Josie and the Pussycats, Yogi Bear, Flintstone Kids, Speed Buggy, 2 Stupid Dogs, Cow and Chicken, The Secret Saturdays, Samurai Jack, Jonny Quest and The Huckelberry Hound Show.
**
Weekends from 9-11am are half-episodes of Cartoon Network originals, looking similar to how Cartoon Planet was on Cartoon Network. Could it be the same thing? We’ll find out soon enough.

Cartoon Network Renews “Gumball” for Season 4 & 5
With season three of Cartoon Network’s original series The Amazing World of Gumball premiering this Thursday night, the network has announced an order for two more seasons (its fourth and fifth).

The full press release from Cartoon Network follows:

Cartoon Network Doubles Down on Global Hit Series The Amazing World of Gumball

Network Green-lights Two Additional Seasons as

Third Season Set to Premiere June 2014 in United States

Cartoon Network announced today they have greenlit two additional seasons of their international hit series The Amazing World of Gumball, bringing the total order to five seasons. Created by Ben Bocquelet and directed by Mic Graves, The Amazing World of Gumball is the first full-length animated series out of Cartoon Network Studio Europe. The series about an amusing blue cat named Gumball and his best buddy Darwin, a pet goldfish, combines 2D and 3D animation in a live-action setting. Season three of The Amazing World of Gumball is slated to premiere Thursday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. on Cartoon Network U.S.

This five time BAFTA award-winning series has garnered numerous awards around the world including honors from The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (International Emmy® Awards), Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Market (MIFA) and ASIFA-Hollywood (Annie Awards) and is produced at Cartoon Network’s EMEA studio, Great Marlborough Productions, in Shoreditch, London.

In the United States, season two of The Amazing World of Gumball ranked #1 in its timeslot among kids 6-11 and boys 2-11 & 6-11 and also ranked #1 in its Wednesday timeslot among all targeted kids 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 plus boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, according to Nielsen Media Research. A top-rated global phenomenon, The Amazing World of Gumball reached a total of 36.5 million primetime viewers across EMEA between January and March of 2014.

The Amazing World of Gumball tells the story of an extra-ordinary suburban family who just happen to live in an ordinary town. The series follows the misadventures of 12-year-old Gumball and his family in the wonderful little town of Elmore. Along with Gumball and Darwin there’s Dad, a 6’4” pink rabbit who stays at home while Mom works in the rainbow factory and Anais, a 4-year-old genius bunny. Gumball faces the trials and tribulations of any 12-year-old; like being chased by a rampaging T-Rex, having a robot steal his identity or dressing as a cheerleader to impress the girl of his dreams.

That’s enough episodes for at least 4 more years if they do 20 half-hours/40 quarter-hours each.

OH MY GLOB!

ADVENTURE TIME’S FIONNA AND CAKE ARE BACK!!

“The Prince Who Wanted Everything” Premieres
Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network

Fionna and Cake, stars of the much-loved special gender switching episodes of Adventure Time are back for a third installment on Cartoon Network. What would it be like if Lumpy Space Princess were a boy? Find out in the episode, entitled “The Prince Who Wanted Everything,” slated to air Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. (ET, PT) as part of the Emmy® award-winning series sixth season.

The first two “Fionna and Cake” specials were huge ratings successes, each averaging nearly 4.7 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Madeleine Martin (Fionna) and Roz Ryan (Cake) reprise their roles in the latest chapter of these fan-favorite episodes featuring a parallel universe where Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat have adventures and explore the land of Aaa! This time around, they are joined by the beautiful and sensitive Lumpy Space Prince (voiced by Peter Serafinowicz, Archer), who flees his cruel parents to start a new life.

Currently in its sixth season, the ratings and pop culture phenomenon is having its most epic adventures ever! This April the season premiere kicked off with Finn on a quest to find his father and scored as Cartoon Network’s #1 telecast quarter to date among kids 2-11/9-14 and boys 9-14. Throughout the season expect more revelations as Finn and Jake continue to traverse the mystical Land of Ooo.

“The Powerpuff Girls” Returning in 2016

June 16, 2014

While I like that it’s coming back, I’m not sure about the art style for it…

Good, maybe this will re-open the door for more female starring series. Even the Hub does CN one up.

As for the art style, hopefully they clean it up for the new series.

More Fionna and Cake.

There’s been a lot of negativity surrounding this ranging from McCracken’s possible non-involvement, the art and that this shouldn’t be rebooted at all. I sure hope the details due to come out eventually will reverse this and relieve people of their “fears.”
