Mystic: Dude, don’t do it right here! Go somewhere el— hey, why are you taking your clothes off!? And how did you get out of your ball, anyway!?

???: WTF!

Hai-Hai: Ruh-roh…

Mystic: (It’s a giant robot…! And not just any mecha, it’s a ZakuAce! Normal-types aren’t good against Steel-type TANemon. We’re in trouble…)

ZakuAce: How dare you piss on my— falls on his left leg

Mystic: (That rust spot on his left leg… that’s where Hai-Hai took a leak. Heh, looks like we can win this afterall…!) Hai-Hai, use Barrel Roll! Aim for his right leg!

ZakuAce: falls face forward Damn you…!

Mystic: This Heavy Ball should do the trick. throws the pokeball . . . Yes, I caught a ZakuAce!

If I am reading the rules correctly, once someone is claimed, no one else can claim them. Doesn’t that halve (or more) the active player list in a way each time?
