Demon King Daimao / Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao

I had a little stuttering during the fast action scenes on my PC here, but that is pretty much the norm for it. If it’s like most TAN and CR streams, it will probably run more smoothly on my Mac.

I have to say that I enjoyed the first episode, of course with a character called “The Demon King” how could I not? The character designs are good, the action scenes are pretty fluid, and I even like the comedy elements. It’s a pretty decent start for the show, and I’m eager to see where it goes.

Also, the subs are much better than most CR’s simulcasts… :stuck_out_tongue:

Just wanted to reiterate the fact that AN will be getting the simulcast FIRST (before Crunchyroll) and will be offering it FREE to all Registered Users.

(I’m trying to take over for Dragoon here, but I’m not as quick or as wordy as he is, so bear with me.)

Also, unlike Crunchyroll, you can watch it in HD for free as well :stuck_out_tongue:

Crunchyroll’s free streams of Ichiban Ushiro will not be up until a week after their premier, and the free feed will be limited to Standard-Def. :silly:

I might hold on to my Crunchyroll membership the internet lag here was bad, even for SD so I changed to crunchyroll to watch it in HD with no lag.

I had no lag what-so-ever here at AN. I wonder why others did?
SLick

Same, no lag, everything was crystal.

“In the Shadow of the Demon King” might be a good english title, but it’s just too long. What you need is something quick, punchy, that will get the audience to stop and look at it and go…“Hmm, this might be interesting” while walking down the isle at Best Buy or online. I say call it

DEMON KING SAI

That’s all you need. That and the pic of him surrounded with the gaggle of girls and you got yourself a sale.

It can be a number of factors. You’re PC setup and system specifications, your broadband capacity, the web browser you are using, the mirroring site that is supplying the feed, etc. It can vary quite a bit depending on all these, as well as the number of people trying to access a site from a certain geographical region.

I don’t usually have problems with video feeds on here, other than on the computer I’m currently using. The only exception for me was the free streaming event when Clannad After Story premiered.

On the other hand, I’ve had all sorts of problems with Crunchyroll and pretty much stopped going there, except every once in a blue moon. My favorite glitch is when the subs refuse to work. That one is a blast!

Lag-free here as well…crystal meth clear.
Only time I do get some lag is when I go Wi-Fi and that’s only in the first minute or two, after that it’s a sailing we go…arrrggggg, ya salty moes.

I am sure the Lag would have stoped but I didn’t want to wait around to see the anime. I will try it again later. I have a slow 1.5 mbps download speed

Watched this a couple minutes after it went live, had no problems with lag, even on HD, but then, I have a pretty good PC and good broadband.

Anyways, I think I’m definitely going to enjoy this one, almost a tad bit too ecchi/fanservicey for my overall tastes, but it is rather humorous, which is what matters for the most part with these types of series for me.

Dude, I loved it! I will definitly be buying this at the first chance. Great show, very funny. Thank you TAN!!!

Well nowadays, majority of anime have some sort of echhi/fanservice in it. It’s a mandatory, must-have element in anime today, so as to lure potential future figurine buyers. That being said, while it did have the echii/fanservice element, I was actually suprised there wasn’t a whole lot more in it. In fact, this was actually quite tame compared to other shows already out, and those just coming out this season that I’ve watched so far.

But then again, it’s only ep. one. There’s still more to go.

I really liked the first episode. I am usually not big on watching anime on my computer (explains why I never got into fan-subs in High School and ordered every available channel that aired anime at that time.) But this is one series that I will be watching from start to finish.

I didn’t have any problems watching the episode on Anime Network. But I did have a little bit when I watched it on Crunchyroll.

I will most likely cancel my Crunchyroll membership unless another show catches my eye before the two weeks are up. Main reason is I found the subtitles on Anime Network so much better. Noticed that in the end credits the Sentai/Seraphim produced the English subtitled version for Anime Network  this means a DVD release I hope

After watching the first episode though I thought that this would be a title Funimation would have snatched up. Although I thought Baka and Test would have been a Sentai title.

Now for my high hopes: I hope the simulcast proves successful to warrant a dub for a DVD release and/or future AN SVOD broadcast.

Decided to give this show a try and I’m liking it so far. I was surprised to see translated credits at the end, and overall it seems AN is putting a lot of effort into the streams. Hopefully this will get a dvd release in North America because it’s something I would buy.

I do have to give TAN and Seraphim big props for the subs on this one. They blow CR’s out of the water. They sub the music. They translate signs and on screen text. They even use two different colors when multiple people are talking, and even utilize different fonts and styles. The translated credits at the end are also a very nice touch.

So, since it lists a Sentai copyright at the end, it looks like they’ve definitely licensed the show. Hopefully this means we will be getting a DVD release later this year. They have been doing things with some amazing speed at Sentai these last few months. Color me impressed!

Here Here! I agree with you

With the way AN/Seraphim are handling the show I can only hope that they have more simulcasts planned later on. When they decide to do something they give it 100%.

What?! They dubbed it…No WAY!!!
I got to watch this again.

Stupid D and S key being next to each other. In my defense, I have a cat battling the laptop for my attention. :stuck_out_tongue:

You have dashed my dream…DAMN YOU…WHY?!..(shakes fist at you)…
