I believe I missed this controversy. What was it?
I am a tid bit concerned about Josh Grelle playing his younger self. I seem to recall a rather awkward dub moment when David Matranga was cast as his “younger self”. Also: GuP.
That said, seeing the hate that this dub cast is getting around the internet makes me expect good things from it as the interwebs has a reputation of hating the best dubs

from what I’ve read, it’s not the dub cast that’s getting the web hate (no more than usual), it’s the fact that it’s this show that’s getting the dub treatment when “more worthy shows aren’t”… 
This type of fan whining has never made any sense to me.
More so, because it straight out subjective to think something is “more worthy” than something else.
I’ve seen that sentiment also. I’d be lying if I said I couldn’t understand where they’re coming from with that, but now that Sentai has broken the barrier and has dubbed a sub-only BD I wish the criticism would lessen as “bad” shows getting dubbed while “good” shows went sub-only isn’t as dire as it was. Has word not made it out about Leviathan?
This show isn’t marketed to me, but dubbed it could be entertaining. I might check it out just for that.
Though if enough fans hold that opinion then subjectivity and objectivity overlap, but this sort of show practically sells itself so I’d be a bit astonished if Sentai had a problem peddling this one.
