Hastings ran a FUNimation only email promo blast on June 22. It lists a number of FUNimation series. The very top of the email blasts mentions Dragon Ball Super very briefly.
“After 18 years, the new series Dragonball Super is coming this July. Get ready with the coolest gear here”
Did Hastings jump the gun? Probably. But they are not known to run email anime blasts of any kind.
Then again, it’s really matter of when before FUNimation announce this is. The question may be will it be announced this summer (streaming on time or close to it) or later on as just home video release (Dragon Ball Z Kai wasn’t streamed).

Well, this one is going to be playing at the AMC theater in Downtown Disney, only 12 miles from me. I’ll have to drag me carcass down there then.

Dub to premiere at Anime Expo on July 2, before playing in N. America in August
The IGN website began streaming an English-dubbed trailer for the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ film on Friday.
FUNimation Entertainment will premiere the English dub at Anime Expo on Thursday, July 2. The screening will be held at 8:00 at the Regal LA LIVE Stadium 14.
The English dub will then run in North American theaters from August 4-12.
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ premiered on 658 screens in both 2D and 3D in theaters across Japan on April 18, although advance screenings were held before then. The film is the first Japanese film to open in 3D IMAX Digital Theaters.
Funimation hosted the North American premiere of the film on April 11 in Los Angeles.
Chris Ayres is returning to play Frieza in the English dub. He previously played the character in the Dragon Ball Z Kai edition of the earlier television anime series. Todd Haberkorn will join the cast as Jaco.
Original manga creator Akria Toriyama is personally credited with the original concept, screenplay, and character designs of the new movie. Dragon Ball Z animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro directed the new movie. Pop idol group Momoiro Clover Z (Sailor Moon Crystal, Bodacious Space Pirates) performed the film’s theme song, and also voiced roles in the movie, playing “angels” of hell that reside where the protagonist Son Goku’s enemy Frieza has been imprisoned.
Toriyama said in an interview in November that the ‘F’ in the film’s title stands for “Frieza,” who is revived in the film. Toriyama noted that he thought of the title while listening to “F” by rock band Maximum The Hormone, whom he came to know personally through a friend. The song itself features Frieza as a motif, and is used as a “battle song” during one of the battle scenes in the film. The band originally released the song as its eighth single in July 2008.

Yes, try to derail fans disappointment that you could not license DB Super for simulcast…
Maybe Toei said, “NO! We’ll release it ourselves. We’ll follow AoA and PCUSA’s example and start our own US branch and make even more money. Yeah!”
Didn’t Toei try running a US branch before? In any case I have a feeling that taking the “Uber Premium” approach with DragonBall in North America won’t end well.
