Niconico to begin streaming anime on October 1

The anime production company Aniplex of America announced on Tuesday that it will stream the Fate/Zero television anime series, subtitled in eight languages, worldwide via the Niconico Live and Niconico Channel services. The streaming will begin on October 1 at 8:30 a.m. PDT, and each episode will be online for one week only.

The anime adapts the prequel novel by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Phantom - The Animation, Blassreiter) to Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night visual novel software. The story is set a decade before Fate/stay night and reveals the 4th Holy Grail War that sets the stage for the war in the software.

Director Ei Aoki (Hourou Musuko, Ga-Rei: Zero, Girls Bravo), the anime studio ufotable, and composer Yuki Kajiura (Madoka Magica, .hack, Kara no Kyoukai) are all involved in this anime, which will also premiere in October in Japan.

The New York Anime Festival will also screen the first two episodes of the anime on October 15, after they run on Niconico.

Story of Fate/Zero
The story starts from zero, a beginning…

The Holy Grail War - in this ultimate battle field, in order to obtain the power of the “Holy Grail” that makes one’s any unattainable wish, seven “masters” summon “servants” and fight against each other until the last one survives….

After three inconclusive Holy Grail Wars, the fourth battle has finally started.

Hoping to win the battle, each master is heading to the new battlefield called “Fuyuki”. However, there is a man who is confused and struggling being unable to find a meaning of the war – his name is Kirei Kotomine. He wonders why he is appointed to this task, but without any answer, he encounters his archrival - his name is Kiritsugu Emiya, a master who craves for the miracle Holy Grail most of all.

The untold truth of “the Fourth Holy Grail War” that had occurred 10 years before “Fate/stay night” — the truth about the battle fought by Shiro’s adopted father, Rin’s father and young Kirei Kotomine is about to reveal!!
I never really had any interest in Fate/stay night.
However, with Gen Urobuchi writing this, and Yuki Kajiura on music composition, I had a slight interest in this, if only for the music.
Looks like I’ll get a chance to see this now though.

Cafés in Tokyo, Tokushima to show anime sketches, serve Master/Servant dishes with exclusive coasters

The anime studio ufotable announced on Friday that its ufotable cafés in Tokyo and Tokushima will launch a Fate/Zero Café campaign. The limited-time café makeover will celebrate the October 1 premiere of the television anime series.

The two cafés will display the original pencil drawings used in the making of the actual animation. They will also offer a menu of limited dishes inspired by the Master/Servant teams in the anime. People who order from the limited-time menu will receive an exclusive coaster.

The first limited dish and coasters will feature the Master Kiritsugu Emiya and the Servant Saber. (A new dish will be introduced periodically for each Master/Servant team, and a new coaster for the corresponding team will also be introduced at the same time.) Other goods are in the works and will be revealed later.

Starting Ocober 1, Aniplex of America will stream the television series, subtitled in eight languages, worldwide via the Niconico Live and Niconico Channel services.

The streaming news likely means Aniplex with release this one here themselves. Perhaps we have subtitled singles to look forward to? :stuck_out_tongue:

Fate/stay night prequel novel creator not scripting the fantasy adaptation

Episode 01 is now LIVE!

The first episode was really good, in my opinion, even with its length (47:40). I am excited to see what the season brings to the series.

It’s a prequel but is it a good place to start or no? Haven’t seen and know nothing about it. Tempted to watch but if I’m just going to be lost don’t see a point.

Finished up ep. 01

Yay, double length episode!

First off, Kajiura doesn’t disappoint.
Not as awesome as some of her other stuff, but still quite good.

As for the episode, not really knowing anything of the Fate series prior to this, it was still fairly easy to understand and follow, particularly since it was rather exposition heavy.

Lots & lots of talking got kind of annoying though.
Being a slow reader, I missed quite a few things and had to go back to read it again.

That said though, I have to say…
The summonings at the end were epic!

I thought you liked subs? always gave me shit for liking dubs more.

back on topic: I didn’t know what fate/zero was about before, I was thinking a remake or someing like that. I thought rin was cute when she was younger, and now I know that its the battle before Fate/Stay Night.

My thoughts are the same as The Coffee God. I liked the first episode but I am not holding my breath the entire series would hold my interest. I like Fate/Stay Night so Fate/Zero could be bad.

The first episode was a lot of background, which I thought was well laid out so that it didn’t seem to drag at all.

I’ve always been a dub fan first and foremost, as I’ve said many, many times throughout the forum.
And I’ve never given you shit for actually liking dubs.

I have, however, grown very weary of your past incessant whining and insultive inflammatory commentary.

Whatever, I am a big Anime Network, & Sentai Filmworks supporter.
