Fate Series (Type Moon)

Finished up ep. 11

Rider is so much fun!

[details=spoiler]So he bursts into Kiritsugu’s castle to invite Saber out for a drink.
Also turns out he invites Archer as well.

And while it sounds like it’ll be just a relaxed fun time, it actually turns out to be quite the interesting conversation between the three.

With Saber throwing Caster jabs at Archer and Rider psychologically dismantling Saber to the core.

Rider loses all respect for Saber when all is said and done.

Also, Rider gets to show off some, as we get a glimps of how powerful he truely is, when he goes up against Assassin.[/details]

Finished up ep. 12

One more episode before the long break to get more.

[details=spoiler]So, it looks like Assassin truely was wiped out last episode.

Not much happened this episode, but did give some interesting insight.
Kirei lost his Command Seal, but while talking to Archer, the Grail chose him again, giving another Command Seal on his hand.

Also, an interesting turn of events during the conversation with Archer.
From the looks of it, it looks like Archer is trying to manipulate Kirei into killing Tokiomi and taking over as Master of Archer.[/details]

Catching up!

Episode 10 –

spoiler

Rin is a true heroine!

Episode 11 –

[details=spoiler]The meeting of kings was very enlightening as each spoke of what kingship truly is. But it looks like Rider really rattled Saber just before the assassins showed up. And there are so many now!

Rider’s Noble Phantasm is his army! Very cool! He may be the comic relief, but I see there is much more to him at times. He is actually quite noble. It seems he did teach Saber a valuable lesson also, but I wonder if Assassin has really been eliminated.

The meeting ends and, sadly, Rider no longer recognizes Saber as a king. He tells her that the way she dreams of being a king is, in reality, a curse. Archer finally speaks after Rider leaves and tells Saber not to listen to Rider but to follow the path she believes in. He tells her that the weight of her kingship is splendid to behold and that she may yet be worthy of his love. After Archer leaves, Saber believes that the others may be right about her and reflects on her past.[/details]

Episode 12 –

spoiler

Assassin is gone, but the Grail has chosen Kirei once again. He seems to be out of touch with what he actually wants though. He really hates Kiritsugu and I wonder why that is. But Archer is an excellent manipulator!

Episode 13 –

[details=spoiler]Caster and his master are truly made for each other. That whole scene about the loss of their “artwork” was chilling! It was just sickening how they spoke of what they did with no remorse at all. They are perfect partners in their madness.

The episode had quite a cliffhanger and I don’t know how I will be able to wait till it starts up again!!![/details]

Please tell me that the pictured ugly white box is not what Aniplex is planning to give people who buy the series for almost 400 bucks. The Kara no Kyoukai box set with its blue suede set a higher standard.

I dunno, the show was quite overrated imo. I’d say it was the best show of its season, but it isn’t going down in history as a classic in my book. It took itself seriously yet was cheesy beyond belief so I wasn’t sure how to take it. It was also one of those shows where the more you think about what happened, the less sense it makes :frowning:

The show could have used a dub. For almost 400 bucks I’d expect a dub. A dub would have helped me better enjoy they show.

Unfortunately they are releasing it as a “Import” so I think the box may be the same since they are simply adding in a English translation for the book and CD. I think the “Import” status is also the reason for no dub being done. I know the show was shopped around to all of the US companies and no one bit. I’m guessing because the licensing cost . Which I heard was plenty high. I decided to pass on the show as I just don’t have that kind of money for one half of a show anymore. 5 to 10 years ago I’d have jumped on it. I did do Madoka ,but I can more manage 3 payments of $74.98 split over every two months over one big 400.00 payment in one month.

So if I’ve read right the extras for this are not subtitled?

I can let you know when mine arrives.

2nd half of anime to premiere on April 7 after preview screenings in theaters

A promotional video for the second season of the the Fate/Zero anime ran during the Nico Nico Live streaming of Anime Contents Expo on Saturday.

The second season will premiere in Japan on April 7, after 36 theaters in Japan preview the first episodes the day before. The Niconico Live and Niconico Channel services simulcasted the series outside of Japan in eight subtitled languages, and Crunchyroll also simulcasted the series outside of Japan.

S2 started this morning on NicoNico.

Finally got a chance to watch ep. 14

Picking up right where we left off, all I have to say is…
[size=16]EPIC![/size]

[details=spoiler]The Gilgamesh/Berserker areal battle was just epic!

-lol-
And the arrogance of Gilgamesh continues![/details]

Finished up ep. 15

[details=spoiler]I was wondering how Saber was going to be able to use her NP with an injured arm.
And this is why Lancer is awesome!
He broke his own spear to break the curse![/details]

No they didn’t sub the omake extras. Cheap bastards.

Finished up Ep. 18

Wow…

[details=spoiler]No wonder Kiritsugu is pretty ruthless and fucked up in the head.
Since they did a backstory for Kiritsugu this episode, now I’m really curious as why Kirei is so fucked up in the head, especially after what happened the previous episode to this one.[/details]

Finished up Ep. 19

Even more wow…

[details=spoiler]Continuing on Kiritsugu’s story…
I’m actually amazed he’s some what sane, given his past history.
That’s not really saying much considering how sociopathic he is, but it’s amazing how he can keep a relatively level head after all he’s been through.[/details]
