If it’s that big of deal they can buy it on Blu-Ray/DVD ( first and second season are cheap on the Sentai’s site right now to ) , spend a couple hundred on the Japanese release with no subs , or getting a subscription to HiDive or Crunchyroll . Nope they are legit ways so they are the wrong way to watch it .
I didn’t read that as people not being happy about Food Wars! on Toonami, I read it as people are not happy with censorship on Toonami, Food Wars! being the latest example.
It’s not the first show to be censored and it surely won’t be the last show to have censorship.
I think it’s more about getting the show out there to people who wouldn’t otherwise see it and if they’re that interested, they can research ways to show support of the show in all its forms.
I kinda figured that it would have some level of censorship. Even though the show doesn’t have any actual actual nudity, there’s a lot of scenes which would only be suited for a premium network when aired over cable services.
Now I’m really curious to watch it once AS puts it on Comcast On Demand…
I can compare it to ANOD, VRVDIVE, and physical release!
yes please
Okay. Are you ready @shadzar?
Before I continue, the versions on VRVDIVE, ANOD, and physical media all look the same to me. Please also note I’m checking the home video version on VRVDIVE. It is unknown to me if the version on Xfinity ANOD is the broadcast version or home video version.
All of the censorship I noticed occurs during Erina’s foodgasm.
More specifically, there are close ups of the Soma-cherubs tickling Erina’s breasts and buttocks with feathers which were cut out of the AS version.
(Maybe about 2 or 3 seconds of fanservice cut so it can broadcast on US TV, and the world riots, despite the Blu-ray having it…)
The only other differences I noticed were the English credits and shortened OP/ED.
(Yes, I have to listen to the full version of “Spice” every time it plays…)
my brain cant even right now with KyoAni incident ongoing.
