Fullmetal Alchemist & Brotherhood / Hagane no Renkinjutsushi

I think I enjoyed tonight’s episode better than this part of the story in the first series. It wasn’t as drawn out, but short and to the point.

And the first bunny rabbit scene was too cute. Well, until the fox came. The boys probably would have let the rabbit go anyway if the fox hadn’t stolen it.

For the most part, though, we’re still recapping and retreading the original series. Not that I didn’t expect we would get back here again, but it makes me wish I’d read the manga to know better where the two really go in different directions.

By the way, AS VOD must update biweekly or even less often…

Slowhand noticed this when we were talking about the fancast site this morning.

I’d actually love to watch that show.

Summary:
While playing a game, brothers Alphonse and Edward Elric get transported to another dimension where Alphonse is trapped in a robotic body and Edward has become the Fullmetal Alchemist.”

I’d actually love to watch that show.[/quote]

Wouldn’t that basically just be a rehash of Jumanji and Zathura?

Yes, but with more interesting characters. lol -

Yasuhiro Irie’s staff writes, lays out end based on Hiromu Arakawa’s manga end

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood director Yasuhiro Irie has confirmed on his Twitter account on Thursday that original manga creator Hiromu Arakawa has planned out the final manga installment, and that his staff is writing and storyboarding the material for the anime based on that ending. He added that he was shocked by the enormity of the final chapter and noted that there are only two months left.

Update: The June issue of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is confirming on Wednesday that the Fullmetal Alchemist manga will end in the following issue in June.

Ep. 13 annoyed me subbed and it annoyd me just as much dubbed…

[details=spoiler]Pfft.
Ok, they’re rushing this story so fast, they just introduced Yoki selling out the location of Scar to a couple of thugs. This happened long after all the stuff that happened between Ed and him in the first series. That’s not really a problem, but what is, is that they haven’t given us any information on why Yoki is in the position he is (a vagrant of sorts) and why he dislikes Ed so much.

Plot holes like that and lack of any true character developement really bug the hell out of me.[/details]

Ep. 14

The attack on the Devil’s nest by Bradley was still nasty. I liked Marta so was disappointed she died so soon. In the first series Al was given time to really care about her. Was surprised to see her blood splashing on his seal gave him the memories of the gate back. I wonder if he will start transmuting without circles now. I did love the scene of Bradley trying to recruit Izumi and her playing the simple housewife. Also poor old Greed you were a smart ass to the end. The change in the Homunculi and chief bad guy was also interesting.

Ep. 15

[details=spoiler]Well Al can now transmute without a circle. Ed needs to stop breaking his arm before Winry does kill him.

The new characters from Xing are going to be interesting. Also liked that we found out more about the world.

It’s going to be rough when they get to Central and find out about Hughes. :frowning: [/details]

I have to say, I’m rather disappointed with Todd Haberkorn as Ling, the voice definitely doesn’t suit or even fit Ling, and even has a slight homosexual twist to it, which definitely doesn’t fit well with Ling.

On the other hand, Monica Rial as May is going to be rather fun.

Not a fan of Todd Haberkorn not liked any role he’s done I’ve heard and with this it still has not changed.

I didn’t mind him as Kyrie in Sands of Destruction, as he actually seemed fit the character fairly well.
Him as Ling on the other hand, just really doesn’t fit at all to me.

Though admittedly, part of my problem with it might be because I’ve been watching the subs, and already have a predetermined view on how his personality is and how I think he should sound.

Oh yeah, and while I’m thinking about it, starting with tonights episode, it’s going to get awesome, especially this, and the next three episodes.

Ep. 16

[details=spoiler]This was a rough episode. :frowning:

The look of horror on Lt. Ross face when she realized they did not know about Maes. Also the scenes with his widow brought tears to my eyes. I can’t believe Lt. Ross is being framed for his murder. I hope Mustang can clear her of the false charges as I rather like her character. Should have figured Havoc having a girlfriend was to good to be true. [/details]

A great episode, but a real tearjerker. I like the way the story is going though. I too hope that Ross gets cleared of the charges.

I really liked this episode, as it showed some depth that the begining of the series seriously lacked.
I’m highly anticipating these next few episodes to see how they do it with the dub.

Rats, I had to miss this one… out of town…

You can catch it on the AS online player when it pops up on Wed if you want.
