Ghost Hound / Shinreigari

The bluray collections have started to ship out, so no delay for this one. Yay!

I got mine on Tuesday, though its not blu-ray.

If anyone is looking at the bluray collection please note there was a typo on the cover. The discs are actually in 1080i, not 1080p as listed. According to David Williams, they only received 1080i masters. Also, the OP and ED are animated at 30fps, which makes 1080p difficult. If a disc is encoded at 1080p, it generally needs to be 24fps. So 6 frames of animation would be dropped per second, causing jerky animation, see Funi’s FMP TSR blurays for an example.

Naw, that’s all right. I’m good with just seeing them on DVD.

Now I wonder if I can find a replacement BD case for my Ghost Hound, preferably one with a black border to go with the rest of the cover.

this series is on Instant Watch service for those who are netflix subscribers.

Oh right I watched the first 4 eppies yesterday or rather monday anyway…it was interesting to say the least

Ep. 7

After the long discussion of the brain, I’m wondering if they had a Neurologist as an adviser. The information just seemed very detailed.

I’m sure they did ShawnMerrow. It is a lot of detail for a non-professional to come up with.

Episode 8 –

I like this episode. Just when Dr. Hirata dismisses Taro’s OBEs as being all in his mind, the Dr. has an experience of his own and mysteriously loses a half hour from his life. Now the man that doesn’t have experiences has something to think about!!

Episode 10 –

Another good episode, which for me was kind of a turning point in the story. The reporter shows up in town. Makoto saves Masayuki from the bullies which surprises everyone, but also shows that the boys are really coming together. Later, Taro and Masayuki tell Michio about soul traveling and Taro figures out why he was able to change his appearance.
*
The lab is starting to directly affect everyone’s lives in some way. For instance, the water table has lowered and Kei may not be able to use well water for the sake this season. Masayuki and Taro return to the shrine to talk to the priest about the hidden realm and find out a little bit about the history of the mountain too. Masayuki is under the impression that Taro likes Miyako.
*
Now that he’s seen how Taro can change, Makoto tries it too and succeeds. He wonders if his father ever soul traveled. At the shrine, the priest meets the traveler who tells him that something “big” is going to happen. But the best part is when one of the kids from the last episode can see Masayuki in his soul form and cowers in fright, making a mess in the convenience store!

Does anyone know when the Dubbed version of the last two episodes will be released? So far, I don’t see any indication from the “What’s On” section that it will be posted anytime soon.

Is this in reference to the Online Player or VOD? If its the Online Player, then both episodes are up and available for viewing. Thanks.

I really enjoyed the dubbed version. Great job!
