Hasbro News

Here’s the extended promo that’s been running for this.

SILVER SPRING, Md., Oct. 22, 2014 — Returning for an action-packed third season of new adventures is “Transformers Rescue Bots,” the animated series created for younger TRANSFORMERS fans, on Saturday, November 1, with two back-to-back episodes at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET/10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. PT, on Discovery Family Channel. The series is produced by Hasbro Studios.

The season three premiere of “Transformers Rescue Bots” returns with the episode “Land Before Prime,” where Optimus Prime is forced to embrace his primal side when the Rescue Bots discover a mysterious island filled with dinosaurs. The second episode, “Big Game” features a notorious Big Game Hunter who has set his sights on Optimus Prime and his newly acquired transformation. The season will also showcase how our protective heroes have to be ready for anything, from scientific tech gone awry to unsolved mysteries on their island home. Some adventures are so big that they even take a Dino-Bot (or two) to save the day.

Looks like the nighttime block could be quite interesting here. Shows like Extreme Engineering: Big Reveals and Big, Bigger, Biggest: Supersized focuses a lot on international goings-on.

The latter had en episode titled “Tower in the Clouds” (ep. 1) that focused on Tokyo.

The Canton Tower, crowned the tallest tower in the world, rises 2,000 feet in the air above the city of Guanzhou; Tokyo makes plans for a tower that will be even higher.

I realized I’ve been so preoccupied with the fact this network has been a super dead zone that I forgot to mention this news from December 2014.

R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour cancelled after four seasons.

Spooksville was not renewed for a second season.

Family Game Night is currently on hiatus. Sixth season TBD.

I lost interest in this network even before it was rebranded. Being a fan of action-adventure cartoons, Transformers: Prime was the last hurrah for me. Haven’t watched it since.

I decided to give it until the 2015 upfront out of fairness. If there ISN’T one for DF or there is but fails to impress (not worthy of posting), this thread’s done. Discovery Networks have their upfronts March-April at various times throughout. The fate of this thread hinges on Hasbro and their offerings.

seeing how the new Transformers toon will be airing on CN, then yeah, DF is pretty much done.

That was so they could reach a broader boy audience. Whether CN treats it right is another story. I’ve been up in arms with their scheduling disasters lately too.

If the new Transformers series does well with the 6-11 age demographic, CN will treat the show as well as they do Pokémon and give it a stable Saturday morning timeslot they won’t mess with too much. If it’s only meh with the 6-11 crowd or (even worse) skews more towards an older demographic, then it could be in trouble, IMO.

Here’s an interesting read.

‘My Little Pony’ Season 5 Hoofs it to Discovery Family

An all-new season of Hasbro Studios’ smash hit animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic will debut on Discovery Family on April 4 with two back-to-back premiere episodes beginning at 11 a.m. ET / 10 a.m. CT. Full of new adventures, characters and discoveries, Season 5 of MLP kicks off with a one-hour special and will explore the magic of the cutie marks as the series goes on.

The premiere episode will see the “Mane 6” meeting newcomer Starlight Glimmer when they are summoned to solve a friendship problem only to find a utopian village in which everyone has given up their Cutie Marks. At first, the village seems a happy place, but it soon becomes clear that Starlight Glimmer has a vastly different and rather sinister view on friendship and the individual talents that make Equestria’s ponies so special.

Further highlights fans can expect in Season 5 include a celebrity guest voice role performed by Tony Award-winner Lena Hall, the show’s 100th episode, fun holiday specials and several new original songs.

Looks like Discovery Family did have an upfront.

Interesting. Daytime will have 4 renewals. Doesn’t look like there’s any new animated series though… but maybe next year? Curious to know the movies they’ll show for the summer since they’re hyping this. They’ve been on a roll picking up a bunch of films lately, which is more than I can say for CN.

This topic is now unpinned. It will no longer appear at the top of its category.
