I have to wonder why they will have it on on a Wednesday. It’s still great news, and I won’t miss it. Thanks for the info PP.

I am thinking its because that is the one night there is not much on TV teen wise between 8:00 and 10:00 pm. It works fine for me except I will miss one show and part of another. One of the shows though gets put on VOD for free so its not to big of deal and the other has been kind of skating along good still ,but its kind of at the point it could go either way.
I also noticed without telling anyone they moved “The Spectacular Spider-Man” to WED to. So makes me wonder if they are just moving all of the action cartoon stuff to that night. Though Saturday prime time would be better since nothing of note really airs on any other channel anymore.
I have it set for record, but I’ll likely be watching it live. Going to have to check the official Naruto site to see if they still have the last 10 eps of the regular Naruto so I can finish it up in preparation for Shippuden.
Thanks for the info PsychoPuppet.
Finished the regular Naruto. The last episodes to the end were more of the same, useless filler that seriously damaged a once great series. These final 10 or whatever episodes that weren’t aired on Cartoon Network in my view were for the most part not worth seeing. People who skip from the CN showing to Shippuden won’t really miss anything. I was disappointed that there was nothing really interesting to transition to Shippuden - whether it be a great fight, great story arc or great fights like in the pre ep 130ish episodes. Which isn’t to say it was all bad, the final arc was pretty good, especially compared to a lot of the last 90 or whatever eps of filler. Although for long time series fans, it’s probably worth seeing, especially the last half of the last episode.
Either way, this series has perhaps the best large ensemble cast in a long-form anime series in diversity and size. I hope they are able to capitalize on it like in the earlier episodes of the regular series.
All set now and looking forward to Shippuden.
I also finally finished watching the first series of Naurto over the course of the weekend. In my opinion, of the episodes that remained unaired on CN, only the last 3-4 were of any importance, as far as transitioning to Shippuden. I also borrowed a friend’s first disc of Shippuden this weekend and watched the first four episodes. I was hoping to be able to do a comparison between the uncut version and the “edited” version that Disney may be showing. I have my DVR set for Wednesday and am ready to watch the first four episodes again. It’s gonna be great to have even more anime accessible through t.v.
I saw the first four episodes of Shippuden a long time ago but I can’t wait to see the dub. Shippuden won’t disappoint, I can tell you that.
Just a reminder “Naruto Shipitbacktojapan” is on tonight at 8:30PM EST on Disney XD.

I’m watch this right now, and doesnt seem to be edited.
Great beginning!
This is the Naruto a lot of us grew to enjoy back in the day. So many fun surprises. Gaara as Kazekage. So far though Naruto seems to have been eclipsed by his peers both in ranking and abilities. Obviously done as the creators don’t want to tip the hand so early.
Excellent use of flashbacks by the writers/production staff. This is one of the ones in a long time that actually impressed me in its use of helping contextualize what’s going on now, but also bring some nostalgic underscore to the story.
The comedy with Kakashi and Jiraiya had me cracking up.
It’s interesting that they chose a new composer for Shippuden. It’s both great and in some ways I miss the older work by Toshio Masuda who has the ability to make really touching music with very melodic and memorable themes. The new composer did kick up the production quality a bunch though, the instrumentation and sound quality is awesome. Loved the scenes with the lush strings, crazy shakuhachi overblows and lots of cool ethno-instrumentation like in the first few minutes of the first episode with the cool sounding violin-esque instrument. Sounded like a Sarangi.
So far no real issue detected with Disney XD’s presentation. I’m sure the Shippuden fans will be scouring it at one point to compare, but I didn’t feel any odd edits in terms of the pacing. It felt pretty smooth so hopefully nothing was done. They kept the ED music at least, which is something CN did not do, however they removed the gorgeous ED video and replaced it with crap. Still the last point isn’t too bad and still an improvement over Cartoon Network’s handling of the ED.
Now if only Shippuden could continue this level of quality and the stronger points in Naruto consistently as far as the story, then it’s gonna be some fun times ahead.
Can’t wait for next week’s episode.
I didn’t watch it, so can I ask a few questions,
1 Please tell me they kept Heroes Come Back, that song rocked
2 Can you explain the problem with the ending?
3 Didn’t the start of episode one suck how they sort of spoiled 50 episodes into Shippudenn
4 Was the dub early Naruto quality or later Naruto quality?
Just sounds good the way you described it.
I can’t wait until they show the deaths

1 OP is Kept and it rocks.
2 They replaced it with some crap video, to fit the edited time. It’s not the original. The audio is the actual ED though, but of course shortened for time. Still better than what CN had though, at least it’s the actual ED song.
4 Better. Early and later Naruto dub had issues (I mean the filler eps felt a little rushed in quality). Dub in Shippu sounds, at least in these early ep. sounds like the ones in the best parts of Naruto - when they sound polished. The Shippu dub is excellent, so far.

Did you notice that they had sub in the opening, and that it was widescreen when it started, but went back to being normal 4.5.
First four episodes of Naruto Shipitbacktojapan was not to bad not great either ,but not to bad. Voice acting if anything seems to have improved.
Kind of felt like we are trapped in a big hamster wheel though like 40 episodes from now we still won’t be getting anywhere.

The earlier Shippuden episodes are in 4:3 but later change over to widescreen.
Naruto Shippuden goes at the speed of DBZ.
