Naruto

Genres: action, comedy, drama, fantasy, tournament
Themes: developing powers, fighting, ninja, tragic past
Objectionable content: Significant
Plot Summary: Naruto closely follows the life of a boy who is feared and detested by the villagers of the hidden leaf village of Konoha. The distrust of the boy has little to do with the boy himself, but it’s what’s inside him that causes anxiety. Long before Naruto came to be, a Kyuubi (demon fox) with great fury and power waged war taking many lives. The battle ensued for a long time until a man known as the Fourth Hokage, Yondaime, the strongest ninja in Konoha, fiercely fought the Kyuubi. The fight was soon won by Yondaime as he sealed the evil demon in a human body. Thus the boy, Naruto, was born. As Naruto grows he decides to become the strongest ninja in Konoha in an effort to show everyone that he is not as they perceive him to be, but is a human being worthy of love and admiration. But the road to becoming Hokage, the title for the strongest ninja in Konoha, is a long and arduous one. It is a path filled with betrayal, pain, and loss; but with hard work, Naruto may achieve Hokage.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Plot Summary: Years have passed since Naruto and Sasuke teamed up to defeat Kaguya, the progenitor of chakra and the greatest threat the ninja world has ever faced. Times are now peaceful and the new generation of shinobi has not experienced the same hardships as its parents. Perhaps that is why Boruto would rather play video games than train. However, one passion does burn deep in this ninja boy’s heart, and that is the desire to defeat his father, Naruto. (from manga)

I finally finished watching the original series. It was a long and frustrating journey to the end, but I finally made it. And I’m sure a lot you out there have finished it as well.

Now we have Shippuden to watch, and I have watched the first 4 eps dubbed. I’m enjoying it just as much as the original series. It’s all the same, just the characters look a bit older. But all that perverted humor is still there.

It’s sucks having to wait for the new eps, apparently the company that produces Naruto won’t be releasing new dubbed eps until October…or so I’ve heard. I’m not a fan of subbed anime, so I will not be watching those. But waiting for it is horrible. Just like waiting for the original Naruto to air on Cartoon Network.

So, anyone care to share their thoughts?

I’m liking Shippuden but the pacing is almost as bad as Dragonball Z.

Apparently Naruto Shippuden has finally managed to get a TV deal, but that haven’t announced who with yet. So that probably explains the hold up for new dubbed episodes.

Why wouldn’t it air on Cartoon Network the way it always has? the original Naruto I mean. If not there then were else could it air? I mean it only makes sense that a cartoon be aired on cartoon network.

So how far will I be able to talk, I got to about 116 or so of Shippudenn before my current “I hate Naruto, why the hell did it pull a One Piece or Bleach” phase.

I dunno about those other series…I haven’t been paying them any attention. I like that Naruto is back on the manga storyline and can’t wait for the next big fight…

Because the US market has changed a lot since you left. The property is deemed overvalued by CN who is focusing on homemade shows that make more money than anime (since a lot of anime fans haven’t been buying lately), while on the other side Viz is probably feeling CN is undervaluing the property. It’ll basically come down to Viz finding an acceptable offer or lowering their expectations.

With anime companies in very tough situations right now, they’re all looking out for their bottom line, understandably.

Naruto has been constantly put off the schedule on Cartoon Network, it’ll show up for one week and no episodes for weeks on end after that. They stopped it at ep 210 without finishing since Feb.

Really no one knows what’s going on, as both sides have been fairly silent.

No fare at all, since this thread is about the dubbed eps. There are only 4 dubbed eps available so if you were watching the subbed version then you probably shouldn’t be talking much in this thread.

Man, this really too bad. Are anime fans in the states losing interesting in anime or something? I guess in todays modern day technology it makes it hard to sell music an videos since people can upload/download it all over the world.

Really no one knows what’s going on, as both sides have been fairly silent.
Man, this really too bad. Are anime fans in the states losing interesting in anime or something? I guess in todays modern day technology it makes it hard to sell music an videos since people can upload/download it all over the world.
We have more fans than ever, it’s just none are paying for it.

Being as an English dubbed version won’t see TV for a while, I don’t see why we can’t discuss it here.

Naruto Shippuden will be coming to Disney XD in October 2009

Watch this thread for more info!

I just saw it will be on Disney XD the other day.

I have seen all the Naruto’s on Cartoon Network, but didn’t they stop early like 11 episodes?

Are they on DVD or shown anywhere else (Dubbed)? I would like to see them before Shippuden.

I wonder how edited it will be being on Disney, if it was ABC Family it probably wouldn’t be edited much more than what SyFy does their Anime, but XD has a younger target for the whole channel.

Only the very last episode of the first Naruto series has something that matters to Shippuden and even then if I am thinking right it was only a very small part of it.
Honestly just jump in its a Naruto “who really cares” Uzumaki show.lol
Actually XD’s target audience is now more tweens to late teens.

No XD audience, Disney said, was boys and girls ages 9-14.

Which means the funny thing is Naruto during Shippuden is just outside of that range himself IIRC.

I am guessing everything else on the other Disney channels if for under age 9?

The final 15 episodes are on the 16th uncut Naruto boxset released last month.

I was looking at TV ratings on XD and its TV-G or less even Fresh Prince which has TV-PG ratings on ABC Family.

More like the last 80 or 90 Naruto episodes don’t even matter.

Not sure what is up with Disney XD’s ratings or TV ratings in general they have a lot of their show rated really odd. Maybe Standards have changed since the older shows originally aired or maybe someone got lazy when doing them ,but a lot of those shows especially a lot of the superhero ones are not as kid friendly as one would think. Heck Fresh Prince I heard a sex joke and a few select cuss words. I really think you can no longer go by those ratings.

Because I was rather shocked that Disney XD bought the Right to Naruto shuppden
I read it off of some anime site, but it is just sad that toonami has been shut down for over a year. and Now Cartoon network is fed up with anime… I am a fan of anime and wish that they would show more anime or bring back toonami so that anime would have a home on tv.

I mean what will happen when all the anime on cartoon network / Adult swim drys up for good will they try to revamp their anime line up no. Cartoon network would rather cut they losses because they consider all of their Anime shows dead weight… I know it is or will be a sad down for anime fans everywear if Adult swim decides to tell Cartoon network to stop all anime…

But don’t they get all the real kids shows like bobbie says, and har har thursday don’t they relizes that people that people like us the memebers of TAN perfer Anime shows to the real world crap… if Cartoon network keep showing all these all these (Non cartoon shows) then i just cartoon network sould just change their name to Kids Network, or something because CN is just gone down hill… I just watch CN & Adult swim for the anime only…

Starts Wednesday Oct. 28th 2009 8:30pm EST for the first episode then at 9pm est three more episodes for those wondering.
