and this is why i most often do NOT buy anime. if there was no discrimination then maybe i would be interested, but nope. you have to buy something you don’t want to get the “exclusives”. just like the crap with HP, start with full-screen and by the 7th movie, only widescreen was available.

they should have just made some with DVD only and the other stuff and stop forcing this Blu-crap onto people.

it is funny how there are laws that prevent car manufacturers from dumping parts catalogs so people don’t have to rush and buy a new car every year when there are no more parts, but the media industry can kiss my @$$ if it thinks there is a reason to continuously buy new media formats every 3 years so some designer can continue having a job.

what ever happened to trying to get one into every home? not going to buy it and debating if i would even watch any more of it due to this type of discrimination.

Kate Higgins as Mercury is interesting. I must admit that I don’t know much about Michelle Ruff’s ability to affect a British accent so I’m unsure about her Luna.

BTW, which studio is dubbing this?

I’m also a bit peeved about the extras being bluray only as the bluray is implied to be artificially scarce and there’s no other (ie:visual) reason to buy this on bluray. Extras make me want to buy it, though extras from Viz and from Bang/Zoom have been lackluster. If the dub extras in the BD version aren’t on the BD, as AoA did with SAO, then I’m calling shenanigans since they force us to get the BD to get them.

Since I am one of those Sailor Moon virgins and haven’t seen any of the original series, I’ll probably watch this shorter show. The first episode wasn’t too bad.

it’s ok, so is Usagi/Serena. If she isn’t then her boyfriend is in some REAL trouble!

not really sure what i was expecting, but it had the first episode of Sailor Moon including Jadeite. the anorexic face due to overly round eyes that provide no cheeks compared to the original oval eyes leaving some face beside them makes everyone look off. even glasses-boy has bigger “eyes” (glasses) and it just looks poorly draw on every face except Tuxedo Mask. not too sure about the bee-sting lips either. i get it was always “make-up” not “power” that ended the phrase, but considered that a good thing since it isn’t trying to sell Avon and Revlon to preteen girls, but still the fatter lips just to have some lipstick showing so there is some kind of “make-up” rather than just mahou shoulo “dress-up” is a bit unnerving.

it is the first episode redone, so not really sure why it is just being remade, but it is drawn worse than the decades old version and lacks visual charm. i can’t even have any empathy for Usagi the way she looks.

I did noticed she actually has toes when she transformed in this one, so maybe they took 1 step forward, but the rest is 2 steps back in animation technologies and art progress. :frowning:

I think i will refer to this series as Sailor Moe-mess Crystal, even though there is nothing moe about it.

I gotta agree about the art in this one: it looks weird. Don’t mess with success: IMO this new art style is the “New Coke” of anime :frowning:

This show is thus putting a damper on my observation that shows targeting the female fandom have higher class art than most others.
