Q. Is there any way you guys could possibly put a “marathon mode” (watching without credits, Funimation tried this on a few releases) on future releases? Having to watch the extra couple minutes of your english credits kills the vibe of the show when marathoning.

A. Ooh! Your suggestion has been noted. Can definitely forward this on for consideration.

That would be nice…if it happens.

TUESDAY NEW RELEASES: WOLF GIRL & BLACK PRINCE
3/8/2016 11:01:00 AM

Are you ready for some serious shoujo anime feels? Don’t let the title fool you: this comedic love story will keep you on your toes until the very end.

Wolf Girl & Black Prince
Everyone knows that lies can come back to bite you, but when Erika makes up a fake boyfriend to impress her new classmates, the results may literally end up hounding her forever! Yes, it was dumb, but what were the odds that the random guy whose picture she used would turn out to be a student at her own school? Or that said faux-boyfriend’s silence would come with such a horrible price? Now Erika doesn’t just have to run and fetch at Kyoya Sata’s command, she has to bark too! Because he’s literally treating her like a dog, and she just has to roll over and take it, or he’ll tell everyone the truth! But that’s not the worst part, because even though this wolf in hunk’s clothing has Erika collared, she may be starting to have REAL feelings for him anyway! Is she barking up the wrong tree, or could true love be unleashed in WOLF GIRL & BLACK PRINCE?

Q. Which site do you get more feedback on twitter or facebook?

A. Good question! It’s easier to see feedback on Facebook (it’s all in one place), but in terms of volume, we get more suggestions on Twitter. We watch them both (and Tumblr too), so it all works!

Q. With Spring anime season coming up and your attending Anime Boston. Are there big things planned? When might we start hearing about your simulcasts?

A. This question is a spoiler alert waiting to happen. Back away!

WHITE HAIRED ANIME CHARACTERS WE WANT WHITE DAY GIFTS FROM
3/11/2016 11:19:15 AM

A month goes by so fast… that’s probably what tons of people are thinking in the countries that celebrate White Day on March 14.

In Japan, girls traditionally give their crushes chocolates, sweets, or baked goods on Valentine’s Day. It’s customary for those crushes to return the favor, generally threefold, the month after. Though both of these sweet holidays’ gifts can be less romantic and more of a social obligation, we’d love any sort of White Day presents from these dashing (but sometimes a little loopy) white haired anime boys.

Bell Cranel (Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon?)
He’s a bit clueless, but that’s part of his charm! This rookie adventurer is kind, sometimes too selfless, and getting stronger every day, surprising everyone. Bell has the genuine nice-guy personality that either makes folks misunderstand and resent him, or inspire the exact opposite reaction. The ladies of his world have noticed the appeal of this white haired anime boy, and so have we!

Clear (DRAMAtical Murder)
This precious cinnamon roll deserves to be protected from everything awful in the world, but no can do. Clear hasn’t had much of an easy life, but that only made him into a sweetheart! He’s a little “Earth stupid”… well, more like curious. He has a special adoration for jellyfish and can (magically) eat while wearing his mask. He may have eyes only for his “Master”, but don’t let that stop you from imagining what kind of White Day present he can cook up!

Kokkuri-san (Gugure! Kokkuri-san)
Kokkuri-san is literally foxy. Despite looking like a typical white-haired fox spirit, this guy is surprisingly dependable. Consistently trying to protect and provide for the person who summoned him, Kokkuri-san is prepared to deal with all the trials that you, and life, can throw at him. Seriously: the man cooks, cleans, AND is super considerate. His idea of a White Day present is probably beyond our human comprehension.

Archer (Fate/Stay Night)
Though he’s a lot less positive and bubbly than some of these other white haired anime guys, Archer has plenty of traits that make him admirable. Archer is the kind of guy that you know is devoted to those he cares about, even if he doesn’t remember why: that’s true commitment. Being a Hero of Justice and a Heroic Spirit isn’t too shabby either. This guy would probably deliver White Day presents with a frown, but we’d accept it gladly!

SHION (No. 6)
Everyone generally has to leave their sheltered “bubble”, but Shion definitely takes the cake in dramatic exits. Born in a dystopian society where everything is handled by their local government, Shion’s exile from his home in No. 6 is full of painful experiences. Despite his drastic and sudden change in lifestyle, Shion smiles and believes in the equality of human life, no matter where they were born. It’s this mindset, coupled with his overall sincerity, that makes this white haired anime boy so charismatic. His White Day gifts are probably inexpensive but super meaningful!

Q. Will My Little Monster ever get a dub? It’s literally one of my favorite animes of all time!!

A. Psssst… that’s not our title. Sorry we can’t help.

A LIST OF REALLY LUCKY (AND UNLUCKY) ANIME CHARACTERS
3/18/2016 10:25:08 AM

St. Patrick’s Day fell on March 17. Although the holiday is meant to honor one of Ireland’s patron saints, most folks in the USA use this holiday as an excuse to dye everything green, indulge in parades, and party.

Since St. Patrick’s Day is thematically about “The Luck of the Irish,” we thought we’d take a look at some anime characters that are strangely trapped in the clutches of luck. Good or bad? We’ll let you decide.

Mutta Nanba (Space Brothers)
When the character himself believes that he’s inherently unlucky, you know he’s in trouble. While we can all identify with the desire to head butt a boss who insults a family member, this act costs Mutta his job. Not only that, his life has been a narrative of falling short of his younger brother’s achievements. Despite the obstacles life has chucked at him, Mutta demonstrates admirable competitive and observational skills.

Lux Arcadia (Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle)
When he’s NOT fighting in his Drag-Ride, bad luck seems to follow Lux around. Like most harem anime main characters, he first meets the female lead while she’s in a state of undress. However, Lux’s epic bad luck made him meet her A) when she was completely naked, B) in the girl’s bath, and C) by (un)luckily landing directly on top of her. Oh, by the way, she’s the princess of the nation that overthrew his family’s regime.

Tomoko Kuroki (Watamote)
The main character, Tomoko, has seriously bad luck. In between inopportune run-ins with classmates and misunderstandings with her family (the awkward BL scene, anyone?), Tomoko’s bad luck often lands her in the most embarrassing situations. If you can make it through the series without cringing out of embarrassment for her, you don’t have an empathic bone in your body.

Megumi Tadakoro (Food Wars!)
If Megumi’s first partner of the school year had been anyone other than Soma Yukihira, she wouldn’t have made it past that first class. While Megumi has inherent passion and talent for cooking, she lacked the confidence to shine in the classroom. She’s one of the luckiest characters in Food Wars! with her many brushes with expulsion and her ability to be at the right place at the right time.

Kimihito Kurusu (MONSTER MUSUME: Everyday Life with Monster Girls)
His first stroke of luck (whether good or bad is your call) was due to a clerical error, and he’s now been assigned as a host to a beautiful monster girl. Kimihito’s subsequent collisions with luck include running into a charging centaur, being kidnapped by a harpy, finding a slime in his kitchen, and rescuing a wayward mermaid princess. With the harem he ends up building from his brushes with fate, we’re starting to think he should share some luck with the rest of us. But then again, he almost dies on a daily basis, so maybe not.

Rinne Rokudo (RIN-NE)
To be fair, the entire cast of RIN-NE could technically be considered REALLY unlucky, depending on the situation. However, the title character Rinne takes the cake…but with his luck, he will never get to eat it. His history is unfortunate, someone will ALWAYS walk in on him at the exact wrong moment, and despite his best efforts to save money, an unexpected expense will ALWAYS take his hard earned money away.

Tatsumi (Akame ga Kill!)
Tatsumi is either the luckiest or unluckiest guys on this list. On the one hand, his bad luck got him into big spoiler-worthy trouble in the first episode. One the other hand, if he had never met (and been swindled) by Leone earlier in the episode, he never would have joined Night Raid. While the road ahead of him was heartbreaking, we think he ended up lucking out when he found his calling.

Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh)
Sakaki’s life seems like it’s been cursed by a black cat, or in her case, a gray one with teeth. Not only is she unlucky enough to have been born too tall for her liking, Sakaki just can’t seem to intercept all the cute things she wants in life (someone get this girl her Neco Coneco please?).

Itsuki Tachibana (Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation)
Itsuki doesn’t have good luck. He has uncanny GREAT luck. He was randomly selected to be the student council vice president of Seiga Academy, and to top that, his main function in this role is to play the video game Phantasy Star Online 2. His best friend, Kouta, often remarks how randomly lucky Itsuki is, both in and out of the game.

Sakurako Kujou (Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation)
Wherever this sharp-tongued osteologist and her reluctant assistant, Shoutarou go, they always seem to find bones. If the stars are REALLY in Sakurako’s favor, she’ll find a human specimen she’ll want to take home, unless, of course, she has to turn it in to the police for a homicide investigation. Always at the right place, and at the right time, hyper-observant Sakurako is a lucky girl!

Name Your Favorite Lucky Anime Characters…
