Well there’s a blast from the past. I have a couple of tattered bargain-bin DVDs for this series that I got to complete a bargain offer years ago. I recall starting this series but never finishing it or progressing very far in it.
I’m picturing those ads with the loli-looking Saikano char in them and it cracks me up.
…unfortunately there’s a generational thing with the name Ursula: people born before a certain time think of what you posted while others think of the morbidly obese octopus woman from that Disney flick
She, the Ultimate Weapon
Shuji and Chise are caught in the middle of a bomber attack when it’s revealed Chise is more than a high school girl. Starts: 4/3/2015 Language: Japanese w/ English Subtitles
Q. I bought a copy of Saikano/She the Ultimate Weapon and the video does not take up the entire screen, as in there are black bars all around it. Do you know why, or is this only happening to me?
A. Good question! I went back and asked one of our production guys about this issue and here’s what he had to say:
“The original Japanese DVD was 4x3 letterboxed. We matched the original Japanese release.
We could have cropped the letterboxing and stretched the show to 16x9, but the video quality softened and artifacts in the original masters were magnified. We ran tests and then decided to keep the original format.”
