They realized Convention panel goers are not the main buyers? After all any real fan would never leave their room/ living space except to work their necessary evil nightshirt job that supports their hobby .

I look at it this way might not be getting a dub ,but at least should be getting HD video and audio.

Will it at least be Full HD? I remember DW recently stating at a panel what amounted to “native 1080 or bust”. Now that my eyes have seen 1080 (which is too low itself) they object to anything less.

BTW I thought that was only the Japanese real fans lol.

Why would you care if a show you don’t like gets a DB release?

Because a dub can, and most always does, take a show that I’d have no interest in and make it into something that I’d actually buy. Case-in-point: Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere.

Q: When you release a blu-ray, there are questions of economy of scale plus what’s in the catalog. How hard is it to get HD masters for older shows from Japan?
A: It depends on the title. I can say this: we won’t do a blu-ray without an HD master. That’s mandatory now, and I’m actually pushing Sentai to insist on 1080p masters. 1080i isn’t quite enough for me! We don’t like releasing upscales.
