Spring 2014 Master licensing list

Broken Blade TV not available in the US because Sentai has the movies the show is based on?[/quote]

Maybe.
But CR has the Broken Blade movies from Sentai. ( http://www.crunchyroll.com/broken-blade )

It’s a really odd occurrence and has only happened with FUNi Showgate titles thus far.
It would set a new precedent for Showgate titles on CR if it does turn out to be a Sentai license.

-edit-
Since Madman licensed Knights of Sidonia, here’s a clarification on the Netflix thing:

Just like my previous post, I’ll edit this post when there’s more CR announcements today.

-edit-
Looks like 1 more is scheduled for today.
And 1 for tomorrow.

And to start today off…

Crunchyroll
● ORECA BATTLE
● DRAGON COLLECTION
● HEROBANK

-edit 1-

HEROBANK added.

Updated:

Oreca Battle and dragon Collection added to Crunchyroll Streams.

Updated:

Added HEROBANK to Crunchyroll Streams.

5 more TBD boxes have been added.
With the 1 remaining from today to cover tomorrows announcement, that leaves 6 in total.

The AoA titles are pretty much a given CR titles at this point:

Nanana’s Buried Treasure (starts in 3+ days)
Mekakucity Actors (starts in 5+ days)

That leaves 4 (possibly more) to account for on CR.
3 to account for from FUNi (if their boxes are correct)
-not counting Sentai’s 5(+) since all their titles go on CR-

Let’s see what we have left…
http://anichart.net/spring

  • Flag Story (Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara) (already aired and streaming in France)
  • Riddle of Devil (Akuma no Riddle) (already aired and streaming in AU)
  • Black Bullet (starts in 1+ days and streaming in France & Germany)
  • Soul Eater Not! (starts in 1+ days and streaming in France & UK)

  • Dai-Shogun -Great Revolution- (starting in 2+ days and streaming in AU)
  • Is the order a rabbit? (Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka?) (starts in 3+ days and streaming in Taiwan)
  • Date A Live II (starts in 4+ days and streaming in AU & UK)

Not Licensed In Other Countries Yet-

  • Dragon Ball Kai (2014) (already aired)
  • Magica Wars (Mahou Shoujo Taisen) (starts in 1+ days)
  • Hitsugi no Chaika (starts in 2+ days)

  • Atelier Escha & Logy ~Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi~ (starts in 3+ days)
  • M3 ~Sono Kuroki Tetsu~ (starts April 21)

Just like my previous post, I’ll edit this post if there’s more CR announcements today.

There was only 1 scheduled for today as of the forum post yesterday.
So this may be it, but we’ll see later.

-edit-
Looks like we have another one scheduled for today.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-845475/new-spring-titles-the-comic-artist-and-assistants

Crunchyroll
● The Comic Artist and Assistants
● Black Bullet

-edit 1-

Black Bullet added.

it looks like Black Bullet is another Showgate title.

Updated Crunchyroll Streams

It’s interesting that one is a Showgate title.
I wonder if that means the other one streaming in Taiwan is as well ( Is the order a rabbit? (Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka?) )?

And FUNi started up again today.
This leaves them with 1 box left, which is probably Date A Live II

FUNimation

● Soul Eater Not!
● Riddle Story of Devil

Updated

*Agreed that the last Funimation box is Date A Live II, Which means that Tomorrow’s Crunchyroll Announcement should hopefully include : Hitsugi no Chaika.

(Which also Hopefully means that Sentai licensed it, which also hopefully means a Scrapped Princess license rescue is going to happen as well.)

Another interesting thing to see…

Soul Eater Not! is another jointly licensed by both Media Factory & Kadokawa.
http://www.funimation.com/shows/soul-eater-not/anime

While Riddle Story of Devil is just Kadokawa
http://www.funimation.com/shows/riddle-story-of-devil/anime

I’m pretty sure Date A Live II will be a straight Kadokawa title, like the first season was.
http://www.funimation.com/shows/date-a-live/anime

But it’s really interesting to see joint licensing, especially between Media Factory & Kadokawa

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-04-07/nisa-adds-2nd-season-of-love-live-school-idol-project-anime
Very expected, since they have S1.

NISA

● Love Live! S2

Updated

Cunchyroll

MAGICA WARS

I missed the first one since I just woke up not too long ago, but here’s the second.

There’s also one more scheduled for today, so I’ll edit this post with it.

Crunchyroll
● No Game No Life
● Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara (If Her Flag Breaks)
● Chaika –The Coffin Princess

-edit 1-

Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara (If Her Flag Breaks) added.

Looks like Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara (If Her Flag Breaks) is an NISA license, looking at the Publisher of the series page.

-edit 2-

Chaika –The Coffin Princess added.

-lol-
I should probably stop counting boxes at this point, since they always add more until they actually are done announcing.
But 3 more TBD boxes have been added.

Updated

Updated

and both the titles I wanted to watch this season have been announced (Irregular at Magic High School, and Chaika The Coffin Princess)

Now the fun part, trying to figure out Sentai’s other 7ish titles out of the Crunchyroll announcements.

They only copped to 8 (or more specifically “at least 8” ) so that’s what we should go on for the moment.

They’ve announced 3, so that leaves 5 to categorize.

Media Factory (pretty assured unless their pattern has changed)
● No Game No Life

Kadokawa (only 1 Kadokawa title on CR thus far this season so they might have it)
● Chaika -The Coffin Princess-

Showgate (the Showgate titles are questionable given the recent history of them, so I’ll list them “most likely” to “least likely” currently)
● Broken Blade TV Edition (for obvious reasons)
● Kamigami no Asobi (Sentai really seems to like otome adaptions & Showgate is a main supplier of those for them)
● Black Bullet (don’t know much about this one, so I guess it’ll go here)
● The Comic Artist and Assistants (it’s a 13 minute series, so it’s last))

ntv (they have a slight history with ntv, with their Gatchaman Crowds license)
● La corda d’oro -Blue Sky-
● The World is Still Beautiful

YTV (they have a slight history with YTV, with their Hiiro No Kakera & Space Brothers licenses)
● The File of Young Kindaichi Returns
● Brynhildr in the Darkness
● MAGICA WARS

NHKEnterprise (they have a slight history with NHKEnterprise, with their Log Horizon license)
● Baby Steps

The rest that are currently on CR, they have no previous CR history with licensing from them.
So I’ll list them separately.

Dentsu Tec
● Blade and Soul

Seven
● Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san

Shochiku
● Captain Earth

Toei Animation
● Rowdy Sumo Wrestler Matsutaro
● Majin Bone

Warner Japan
● JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

And the rest are either licensed by other R1 companies or accounted for or are children’s series and live-action.

There’s still some more to come on CR as well, but we won’t know what they are until they get announced.

There are 3 things that tell me that it’s about 75% chance that Sentai has Chaika, The Coffin Princess

  1. The original Story is by Ichiro Sakaki, who also did Outbreak Company

  2. The Director is Soichi Masui who was the Director of Scrapped Princess

  3. The Animation is by Bones

The only thing working against Broken Blade TV is that Sentai already has the movies the show is based on. Unless, because of licensing, that they automatically have the rights to the TV series as well, then why spend money on something you technically already have.

No Game, No Life is pretty much guaranteed to be 1 of the 5 left.

Since they already have 1 sports anime this season, Baby Steps doesn’t seem likely.
