I know, I shouldn’t have gotten my Hope up and that CR would have licensed Yamato 2205
Looks like CR is letting Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Space Battleship Yamato 2202 go out of print on disc. Sold out and no longer available most places.
Would be a nice pickup for Sentai, even if it’s only 2205 and Rebel 3199 and subtitle only, but it all depends on what Voyager wants for it
It also means that it didn’t perform as expected as far as CR / Funimation is concerned. Granted they licensed it way too late as it had already been a couple of years after 2199 came out by the time they were able to get it. If Sentai could work out a licensing deal, at least for the sequels, and get the 2199 movie Voyage of the Cosmic Ark movie. then it might be worth doing. I’m pretty sure that Voyager will try to force a dub though. Though if they could get just the movie and 2205, that might be worth it and not make a huge commitment (movie + 2205 was only 8 eps)
Checking the Release date of the 2205 Part 2 BD, which was in February of this year. If CR doesn’t announce it by February of Next year, I’d say the licensing is up for grabs.

Rebel 3199 Update
News from Japan: an interview with Yamato 3199 Writer Harutoshi Fukui was published in the latest Star Blazers/Yamato Fan Club magazine (Vol. 17), in which he gave us a snapshot of where they are in the production:
“I would say that we are about 80% through the scripts and 50% through the storyboards. Despite all the things that have happened, I think we’re progressing at a pretty good pace. The production system in the new studio is almost finalized. Now we’ve reached the point where all we have to do is make it. If production progresses as planned, I think we’ll be able to deliver ‘big news’ by the end of this year.”
From the OurStarBazers.com / Cosmo DNA Community on Facebook:
News from Japan: we were told to expect Yamato 3199 news at the end of the year, and HERE IT IS! A flyer was just released to movie theaters giving the premiere date of July 19 for Chapter 1! The Chapter title is “Dark Invasion.” (The literal word is “Black,” but it’s the form of “black” used in “Dark Nebula Empire.” This means we should be on guard against incorrect translations.)
Notes: Bold to emphasize Premiere date is my edit

Staff also revealed for project evoking 1980 Be Forever Yamato film
Just a note, there’s a better chance that CR ( or Hidive) will pick up 2205, as it’s getting a JP TV broadcast in April.
Funimation didn’t pick up 2199 until it was broadcast on JP TV
