Strike the Blood

Episode 15 –

spoiler

Kojou demands his body back from Yuuma, but she isn’t quite ready to give it up yet. Kojou is surprised to see Dimitrie there as well, and Dimitrie explains that he’s just waiting for the prison barrier to open. Yukina realizes now why Yuuma need Kojou’s body. Yukina and Kojou are captured by the tentacle arms and La Folia and Sayaka show up and free them. I guess they finally found the right door.

But Sayaka doesn’t know who Kojou is and Yukina has to explain that he’s a girl now. Sayaka’s reaction was hysterical. La Folia isn’t too pleased either. Yeah, it must be fun having a harem. LOL The barrier soon materializes and Kanase is there as well. La Folia and Sayaka needed his magical help to get there and will need his help again. At least the seal on the prison hasn’t been broken yet.

Yuuma disappears into the barrier and La Folia has Kanase open a small gate nearby to follow her. However, Kojou and Yukina are the only ones that can go and have a chance of beating Yuuma. La Folia and Sayaka will stay and battle the Meyer Sisters.

Kojou confronts Yuuma and still thinks of her as a friend, but Yuuma explains how she came to be. She is only a tool that was made by her mother to break the prison barrier. However, her friendship with Kojou was a real one. Unfortunately, Yuuma also has the ability to use Kojou’s familiars. Thankfully, she can’t really control Regulus Aurum, but it was enough to break the barrier, although the prison remains closed.

Yuuma makes her way into the prison with Kojou and Yukina close behind. The Witch of the Void is the key to unlocking the prison, and Yuuma has found her. But it’s Natsuki! All this time, the Natsuki that Kojou knows has only been an illusion. If Yuuma kills her, her mother will be free and her mission will be complete. But what then? Kojou wants to know what will happen to Yuuma. It seems that she will just be tossed away, but how can Yuuma go against her programming? Still, Kojou tries to talk her out of it. However, Yuuma has Le Bleu attack Natsuki, but Yukina saves her.

Yukina faces off against Yuuma, but she still has the power of Le Bleu behind her, and uses that to fight Yukina. In the process, Natsuki is endangered, but Kojou saves her. Yuuma is reaching her limit. Yukina attacks but can’t bring herself to strike Kojou’s body. Le Bleu attacks Yukina instead. Yuuma understands why Yukina can’t hurt her, but Kojou places his hand on top Yukina’s on her weapon as well and vows that he will defeat Yuuma and get his body back.

Kojou takes Yukina’s weapon and attacks Yuuma, but she disappears. Kojou throws the spear at the spot where Yuuma reappears, but Le Bleu stops it. Yukina steps in to take it from there and Kojou’s body is pierced! He falls and Yukina catches him. Kojou is back in his own body and seems to be all right. Meanwhile, La Folia and Sayaka have defeated the Meyer Sisters. La Folia can go home now, but Sayaka will be sorry to see her go. She tells Sayaka to go help a “certain someone”. LOL

Yukina managed to miss Kojou’s heart, so his wound should heal eventually. He could recover faster with Yukina’s blood, but she refuses him. In the meantime, they kind of forgot about Yuuma. Where is she? Kojou sees her and runs over to her in concern. Yuuma can’t believe that she failed her mission. But Kojou sees it differently and tells her that she’s free now. Yuuma seems happy enough with that.

Natsuki is awake! She wants to know what he will do with Yuuma. Yuuma has no reason to fight anymore and promises not to. She looks up at the stars in the night sky and smiles. She’d like Kojou to show her around the festival. However, her mother appears in the form of Le Bleu and stabs her with a sword. But she only used her daughter to actually stab Natsuki through a warp. Natsuki dies in Kojou’s arms as he screams. This is horrible! But is Natsuki really dead?

Episode 16 –

spoiler

Dimitrie has a run in with Avrora’s Twelfth familiar, Alrescha Glacies, and says that he now knows why Kojou consumed Avrora. Dimitrie is in a much better mood now as he laughs hysterically.

Kojou, Yukina, and Yuuma have warped, but without Natuski’s body. I still don’t think she’s dead. But it seems that Yuuma has survived without injury too. Yuuma’s mother finally appears, and takes back her power from her daughter. Yuuma falls unconscious as Le Bleu appears behind Aya. Kojou is angry enough to attack her, but Aya warns him that he will also damage the prison barrier, so he stops. He instead asks about Natsuki.

Aya produces grimoire number fourteen, the “Personal History Manipulation Grimoire”. With it, Aya has cursed Natsuki and stolen her memories. However, Natsuki escaped with some of her powers intact. Is she now the little girl that is calling Asagi her mother? Kojou will probably have to destroy this grimoire to get Natsuki back.

Great more prison inmates have escaped as well, and they are all willing to help Aya. Any one of them would love to kill Natsuki. Only the strongest of them managed to get out, but if they can kill Natsuki, they will truly be free of the prison barrier. Kojou will not let that happen. But he can’t use his Familiars here. Thankfully, Sayaka shows up to help. She rescues Kojou, Yukina, and Yuuma. They need to find Natsuki before the inmates do, but first they have to get Yuuma to a doctor of magic. Kojou can only think of his mother.

Asagi treats the little girl to a meal as she tries to figure out who she is and what to do with her. But the child has no memories. She only knows Asagi’s name and keeps calling her “mama”. Asagi is beginning to wonder if this is her own child sent from the future. LOL But the child doesn’t resemble either her or Kojou! LOL It’s funny that Asagi is so sure she will have Kojou’s baby at some point.

Asagi finally realizes that the little girl looks like Natsuki and wonders if this is Natsuki’s child. Asagi asks if the name means anything to her, but the girl cries when she hears that name. Asagi tries to cheer her up by giving her the nickname of “Sana”.

Yukina and Sayaka are surprised to find out that Kojou’s mother is the head medical researcher at MAR – Magna Ataraxia Research. She’s a certified magic doctor and knows Yuuma. Sayaka is acting all nervous – she isn’t ready to “meet the parents” yet. LOL Yukina is a little worried as well. Oh wow – the woman that answers the door is the same one that spoke with the Twelfth Familiar! This is getting interesting again.

Unless it’s an act, which I suspect it is, Kojou’s mother is a bit of a nut – one of those crazy genius types. She’s impressed with Yukina and Sayaka and wants to know which one is Kojou’s girlfriend and if they’ve “done it already”. She also wants to know if she’s to be a grandmother soon. LOL Kojou finally gets to the reason why they are there.

Even before she examines Yuuma, mom knows the girl is a witch. Then Nagisa pops out, in a cat costume. I still wonder how she was able to attack Dimitrie with the Twelfth Familiar and I wonder how all this will finally come together. Well, it kind of explains why Nagisa had disappeared. Supposedly mom called her to come over. Nagisa is surprised at Yuuma’s condition, but still has a protectiveness towards her brother where Sayaka is concerned as she interrogates her. Nagisa is so cute! Kojou tells Sayaka to play along and Nagisa drags her away.

Yukina and Kojou watch as mom examines Yuuma. That was funny! Mom removes Yuuma’s bra and massages her breasts. Kojou’s mother explains to Yukina what she’s doing. Then she tells Yukina that her “powers are activated by fondling the breasts of cute girls”. LOL She really has Yukina going too until Kojou tells her to knock it off. Yukina gets it now and thinks Kojou really is his mother’s son. LOL

Yuuma’s condition is actually pretty serious. Without her guardian, she will continue to leak magic until she dies. She has Yukina help her get Yuuma into her lab where no men are allowed. Besides, she knows that Kojou needs some medical treatment himself and tells him where the first aid kit is. On top of that, she wants Yukina to call her “mom”. LOL

Sayaka joins Kojou and helps him treat his wound. She asks if his mother knows that he’s a vampire. He tells her that he’s hiding that fact from her, but I have a feeling that mom already knows a lot more than Kojou thinks she does. Actually, Kojou’s wound should have already healed on its own. Sayaka notes that the flesh looks to be unstable. Sayaka reluctantly offers Kojou her blood – well, maybe not too reluctantly. LOL She’s doing this so Yukina won’t have to worry about him. Yeah right!

Sayaka gets on the bed and offers Kojou her foot. She knows that he has to be sexually stimulated, and she’s all ready to step on him. LOL However, Kojou isn’t in to that! This is too funny. It’s even funnier when Yukina walks in on them. There’s Kojou with his shirt open and Sayaka on the bed. What to think? Of course Yukina takes it the wrong way and demands to know what is going on. As he tries to explain, Kojou falls to the floor in pain. Yukina runs to him and Kojou tells her that he’s fine before he passes out.

Asagi and Sana are enjoying the Halloween Festa parade. Sana runs to another spot with Asagi following her. Unfortunately, they pass one of the prison inmates. And he knows it’s Natsuki! This can’t be good. Asagi has no way to protect her against these bad guys.

Episode 17 –

spoiler

The Library has come to collect Aya, but she isn’t ready to go just yet. However, her refusal is met with a threat of death. I guess these guys don’t know who they’re up against. Silly Librarians! It is Aya that causes their deaths instead.

Kojou is fine. He had only fainted from hunger. But he apologizes to the girls for worrying them before he asks Yukina why she’s dressed as a nurse. Mimori made her wear it and I think Kojou likes it a little too much. LOL Kojou also asks about Yuuma. Her wounds are treated and she’ll be fine in that respect, but that is about as much as they can hope for. To save Yuuma, they will need the strength of a powerful witch. Someone equal to Aya – someone like Natsuki.

Kojou would like to find Natsuki before the escaped prison inmates do. But the town is still celebrating the Halloween Festa, so they are going to need help. Kojou mentions Asagi, and Sayaka asks what Asagi is. Kojou “thinks” she’s just a part time worker. He seems to be a little more observant these days. LOL

The Halloween Festa parade is being shown on TV and they happen to see Asagi with a little girl. When the girl turns, Kojou thinks she looks like Natsuki. Yukina mentions that Aya’s spell stole Natsuki’s time, and they all realize that Natsuki may have returned to a younger age.

Kojou calls Asagi and asks her about the little girl. Asagi explains that the girl was lost and doesn’t remember her name, but she does look like Natsuki. But while she is on the phone, they are approached by one of the inmates. Asagi tells Kojou what is happening and when she realizes what the man is trying to do, she tells Sana to run. As they run away, the phone connection is broken.

Asagi finds out who the man is and they try to make an escape. However, the inmate catches up to them. Suddenly, a bulkhead closes and Asagi thinks they’re safe. But this man’s body contains a deadly fire spirit and he easily burns right through the door. Asagi picks up Sana and continues running, swearing to protect the frightened child. He keeps coming after them, but a water main opens and the man is swept away.

Asagi and Sana make it back to the surface, but here comes that inmate again and he’s mad! However, Astarte is there to lend a hand, along with the Island Guard. Astarte sucks up his spirit energy and the man disappears. Astarte has been looking for Natsuki and the child with Asagi seems to be a good “biological” match. She asks Asagi to explain, but Asagi doesn’t really know anything to tell Astarte. Another inmate appears on the scene and tells them that it is Natsuki and that a curse has made her smaller.

Aya receives a visit from another inmate on the roof of the school. Kojou and the girls are still trying to get to Asagi. Their vehicle is out of gas, but luckily there is a bicycle nearby! Slicing the chain and then her finger, Yukina gives Kojou a little of her blood as Sayaka gasps. Yukina urges Kojou to go on without them and he takes off. The inmate facing Asagi now is another bad one, but Astarte will protect them again. However, the crack of the inmate’s whip make the Island Guard attack Astarte. The whip is a Familiar that uses mind control. I like the name of it – “Rosa Zombiemaker”. Astarte tells Asagi to run. But they really have nowhere to go as the inmate attacks them as well.

Now, Dimitrie of all people shows up. I guess he’s still looking for a worthy opponent and this inmate seems to fit the bill. He frees the Island Guard from her Familiar, but they’re pretty much useless afterwards. The inmate, Gigliola, traps Dimitrie’s Familiar with her own. She summons her insects to attack him, but Dimitrie summons his snakes and they eat Gigliola alive.

Enter Kojou – on his bike! LOL Gigilola continues to scream as the snakes bite her. Her chains appear and she disappears. Dimitrie is amused. Asagi is very relieved to see Kojou, but reprimands him for taking so long. He still wants to know why Natsuki is with her and Asagi ends up explaining Sana’s name. But what does that have to do with anything? Dimitrie now knows that this child is Natsuki! He also knows that the escapees are trying to kill the witch of the void. Kojou seems to think that Dimitrie will try to kill her as well, and stands ready to fight him.

Dimitrie just laughs and makes fun of Sana’s tiny form. He knows that Kojou is injured as well and offers to keep Sana on his boat. Smart cookie. He won’t have to hunt the inmates that way, but let them come to him with Sana as bait. But he gives Kojou a different explanation, saying that it will save the people in town from getting hurt. Kojou accepts the offer, but Asagi protests, wanting to know how he even knows Dimitrie. Kojou tells her that “stuff happened” and that he’ll explain later. LOL He’s still trying to hide the fact that he’s a vampire from her. Asagi will let Sana go – if she can go too.

Aya is still talking with the other inmate, Meiga, an attack mage, and summons Le Bleu. Meiga protests that he isn’t there to hinder her and Aya realizes that he is from the Lion King Organization. Le Blue disappears as Aya thinks that Meiga may be useful to her after all. It turns out that the Dark Oath Grimoire was destroyed by Natsuki, but it still exists in her memory. That explains why Aya took Natsuki’s memories. She’s trying to recreate the grimoire! And supposedly finish what she had started ten years earlier, which is probably something that will cause utter destruction. Aya has turned the entire school building into a giant Dark Oath Grimoire, complete with all the spells and curses it contained. Back at MAR, Yuuma opens her eyes! What can this mean?

Episode 18 –

spoiler

The plan to use Sana to lure the inmates to Dimitrie begins. Yukina and Sayaka can’t go on the boat, but will try to stay as close to it as they can. I laughed when Yukina told Kojou not to get turned on by Asagi and to keep his vampire urges under control.

Kojou is led to the bath and Dimitrie’s maids join him – to wash his back of course! Or the front. LOL The five girls admit that they aren’t actually maids, but tell Kojou that they’re hostages. Royal hostages that can do whatever they want. They also mention that Dimitrie isn’t interested in women. But we already knew that! LOL I laughed again when the girls offered to bear Kojou’s children. Poor things are just so bored and neglected! It turns out that Dimitrie asked the girls to seduce Kojou. He must want Kojou to get more Familiars. LOL Or something.

Kojou refuses their offer and no sooner do the girls leave than Sana runs into the bath, followed by a towel clad Asagi. Oh the embarrassment! Both Asagi and Kojou scream. There they are, in that big huge bath and they still have to sit back to back so Kojou can’t see anything. I think the steam would have done that same job anyway. Kojou tries to leave, but Asagi demands to know what Kojou has been hiding from her. She thinks he’s into men! That has to be the funniest thing I’ve heard so far where Kojou is concerned!

Asagi wonders why Kojou doesn’t want to see her body and offers to let him look. Not that Kojou would say no to such an offer, but he’s still a gentleman. Asagi notices his scar and suddenly stands up, losing her towel in the process. Well so much for not looking! Kojou certainly gets a good eyeful – and a bad nosebleed. As Kojou almost drowns, Sana seems to like the pretty red water. LOL

Seeing Sana with Asagi, Kojou later comments that she looks like Sana’s real mother. Of course Asagi lets it slip that he would be the father. But she gets out of that by saying it applies to the current situation. Sure! Sana suddenly wakes up and starts saying some strange things. Hopefully, in a couple of hours, her memories will be restored. Sana tells Kojou that she’s Natsuki’s back up avatar. She’s so cute!

Yukina and Sayaka are on the dock and Sayaka has been spying on Kojou. Jealous much? LOL Dimitrie appears before the girls and is accused of pushing Kojou and Asagi together. He doesn’t deny it and thought it would make things “interesting”. Then an inmate shows up.

Kojou is happy that Natsuki will have her memories back, but Sana bursts his bubble when she tells him that her small body won’t be able to handle the magic. However, if Kojou can wait ten years until she grows up………. But of course Kojou can’t wait that long. That means they still have to destroy the grimoire. Mogwai contacts Asagi and tells her that there is something wrong at the school, and it’s not good. He’s cut off as the inmate attacks and Dimitrie flies into the room. So much for protecting them!

At MAR, Mimori discovers Yuuma missing. She doesn’t seem too concerned, but she does find out about the grimoire. Back on the boat, Asagi may find out Kojou’s secret after all. It doesn’t seem like Dimitrie can defeat this inmate by himself. Or that’s what he’s making it look like. Perhaps he’d like to force Kojou into action. Still, Dimitrie accuses Kojou of trying to take away his “playmate”. Sayaka and Yukina decide it’s time to join Kojou, but are stopped by another inmate. Sayaka will deal with him while Yukina goes to Kojou.

Kojou gets some help from Kira to escape the boat, but when Kojou shakes his hand, Asagi gets the wrong Idea again. LOL Even in these dangerous situations, I get to laugh and that is what I love about this show! Sayaka ends up fighting a deva and Yukina finally meets up with Kojou and party. Asagi only questions the nurse’s uniform and not the big spear that Yukina is holding. Mogwai has sent Tank to them and I like how Lydianne calls Asagi “Empress” and Kojou “Boyfriend-don”. She tells them that this same thing happened ten years ago and Kojou sends Asagi to help at her office. Kojou will protect Sana, but in exchange, Kojou will have to go on a date with Asagi. But Kojou misinterprets the request and tells her that they will all go out and have fun. That annoyed her!

Dimitrie defeats his inmate and Sayaka defeats hers. Sayaka is about to fall over but Kojou catches her. Nice that she doesn’t mind Kojou’s sweaty smell. Does she really hate men? LOL Sayaka almost snuggles into his chest, but Yukina clears her throat and they jump apart. I like how Kojou tried to look so innocent. Unfortunately, as they talk, Aya shows up, but she has no intention of killing Sana. Instead, Aya thanks them for taking care of the inmates. Now, her plans can proceed. Sayaka’s weapon loses its power and Kojou’s Familiar disappears. In the world that Aya has created with the grimoire, only her power exists.

Aya calls her Familiar, but when Kojou is pierced with Le Ombre’s sword, it seems that Yukina still has her magic powers. Aya ends up capturing Yukina and Kojou realizes that Aya wasn’t after Sana, but Yukina. However, Aya disappears with Sana as well. I wonder what kind of “experiment” Aya needs Yukina for.

Ep.20

Episode 19 –

spoiler

With the Dark Oath Grimoire being used in Aya’s created world, there are no other powers in the Demon District, which means that Kojou cannot heal. It also means that the island is in trouble since it’s held together with magic. Nice of Dimitrie to take off too. Hoping to save Kojou, Sayaka tries to stimulate him into taking her blood, but his vampire urges are gone as well. It was funny how she was ready to go even further, but Yuuma arrives. I wonder how far she would have gone if Yuuma hadn’t interrupted. LOL

Yuuma is also in pretty bad shape, but she already knows that her mother has taken Yukina, and is ready to help in any way she can. Meanwhile, Yukina is having some kind of strange dream, first of what had happened ten years ago between Aya and Natsuki, and then of what might have been between her, Kojou, and Sayaka. But she knows it’s a false world and uses her magic to dispel it. When Yukina returns to the present reality, Aya begins to explain her experiment.

Back to Kojou and the lovely ladies. Yuuma joins Sayaka in trying to seduce Kojou. Maybe it will work with two girls? Yuuma slices her neck and gets on top of Kojou. Being a creation of Aya, Yuuma still has powers, and as her blood drips into Kojou’s mouth, he becomes a vampire once again. Kojou rolls Yuuma under him and feeds deeply. When Yuuma passes out, he turns his attention to Sayaka. As he feeds on her, he promises that no one else will die. However, his wound won’t heal completely, thanks to Yukina’s magic. But some sage words from Avrora remind him that the fourth Familiar was already awakened. Kojou calls forth Natra Cinereus and the island stops collapsing as it becomes shrouded in mist.

Aya proposes that because Yukina hasn’t lost the magic of her weapon, she can return the world to how it was meant to be. She also suggests that Yukina isn’t human. Thankfully, Yukina doesn’t believe her and puts up an argument. Aya mentions the “five-minute hypothesis”, but Yukina doesn’t believe that either. However, Aya plans to prove the hypothesis a fact. And that is her experiment! Aya is prepared to kill a lot of people to prove that hypothesis too. But it’s Kojou to the rescue!

Kojou arrives on the scene, calling for his third Familiar. Al-Maisan Mercury attacks Aya, and suddenly Yukina and Sana are freed. But the one thing that Yukina notices is that Sayaka’s shirt is buttoned wrong! LOL Of course, she knows why too. That aside, it looks like it’s time for the big showdown between Kojou and Aya! Yukina is ready to join in as well. But this is still Aya’s world and she brings forth the inmates that had already been defeated once. Does she really think they can do anything now? Summoning another Familiar, Kojou takes care of all the attacking criminals at once. However, Al-Nasl Minium is stopped by Aya and disappears. Yukina attacks her next and is captured. Aya tries to take her memories, but is stopped by the Golden Guardian.

Natsuki is awake! And she takes back her memories! Once the grimoire is in her hand, she tells Kojou that it was thanks to his nosebleed in the bath that she was able to use her powers for a brief moment. Natsuki tells Aya that her name is “Void” and restrains Aya’s Familiar. Yuuma calls for Le Bleu and he returns to her side once again. Natsuki tells Aya to return to the prison barrier, but Aya isn’t giving up yet. Aya offers her soul and becomes a demon! There is no hope now. But maybe there is. Yukina remembers that Aya told her that her weapon can return the world to the way it was. Yukina moves to attack and Kojou calls another Familiar to aid her. It’s all over now!

With one strike, the world is righted, but elsewhere, another inmate is completely freed and gains a weapon. I wonder what Meiga has up his sleeve. I suppose that will be the next story. In the meantime, the exhausted heroes have saved the island and are praised by Natsuki. She will soon return to the prison barrier. Yuuma is given some more time, but still has a lot to answer for. Both Natsuki and Yuuma promise to see Kojou again. And Kojou gets a great big kiss from Yuuma! I’m sure Yukina did not enjoy that! LOL

After Natsuki and Yuuma disappear, Yukina gives Kojou an earful, but by the time everyone else arrives and overhears them, they think Yukina just proposed! Of course Yukina claims that wasn’t the intent, but I don’t know – it did sound an awful lot like a proposal. LOL I also have to mention that I was a little surprised that Aya was defeated so quickly, but it seems that she was just a means to an end where Meiga was concerned. Now, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Episode 20 –

spoiler

The story shifts back to Kensei and Kanon, and a mysterious man named Kou. He is looking for something and is already attacking Kojou. He wants Kanon as an “offering” too. Kou mentions Adelard’s monastery and an incident that happened five years before. But he gives no details – he just wants to kill Kojou.

Kou is able to transform his arm into a sword as he targets Kojou. Yukina steps in and cuts off the arm, but this may be a problem since her weapon is about to get sealed for four days, so she can go on a field trip. However, I don’t think she’ll go now. Kou turns out to be an alchemist, and being faced by both Kojou and Yukina, Kou gives up on Kanon and runs away. At least for now.

Natsuki isn’t around, but Kojou does get some info from Astarte, and finds out a little about the “Wiseman’s Blood”. Kojou is also trying to find out about the monastery incident and looks to Asagi for help, but there are no records. They cut school to go take a look around the monastery, but run into Natsuki instead. Of course, she had to find them in a compromising position too! LOL

The Island Guard is currently guarding the ruins of the monastery and researchers are working inside. Natsuki tells Kojou that Kensei was attacked and is in critical condition. Kojou tells her that Kou is after Kanon too. Natsuki will make sure Kanon is guarded, but the trip will continue as planned. While they’re gone, Kojou wants to help catch Kou, but Natsuki orders him and Asagi to take extra classes for cutting instead.

Yukina later reprimands Kojou for going without her. Yukina will be guarding Kanon during the trip and she tells Kojou not to get involved – and not to drink anyone’s blood either! In turn, Kojou wants her to have a good time. Yukina also has a favor to ask, and what follows is very suggestive and very funny. Suffice to say that Kojou did not get what he thought he was going to get! LOL Yukina has actually brought Kojou to the Lion King Organization. The first thing Kojou sees is a shikigami in the form of Sayaka, dressed as a sexy maid! Where is his nosebleed? LOL

Kou is at the ruined monastery and already has his hands on “Wiseman’s Blood”. It will grant a form of something very close to immortality. He’s working with someone as well – someone who saved him during the incident five years ago. At the Lion King Organization, Yukina hands over her lance to her teacher’s familiar and is freed from her duties as observer. I like how the cat compliments Kojou and insults him at the same time.

Wonderful – Asagi lost one of her earrings earlier at the monastery and has gone to look for it. I know how that’s probably going to turn out. Kojou yells at her over the phone for being at the monastery. But just like a woman, she claims that the earrings are important to her. Kou is inside the ruins, working his evil plan with the Wiseman’s Blood, and Kojou tries to bribe Asagi into leaving the area – with more earrings – or perhaps even a ring. LOL

Too late! There is an explosion and Asagi gets knocked to the ground. When she gets up, she tells Kojou that it looks something like blood or mercury, and is in the shape of a woman. This is the consciousness of Nina Adelard. Unfortunately, Kou has found Asagi as well, and tells her that she will die. Oh Asagi! Kou attacks her and it looks like he cuts her down the length of her body. Blood flies everywhere, and Kou mentions that Nina got away, as he goes off to find her.

Meanwhile, Asagi is lying on the ground with her life pouring out of her. Kojou is still on the phone and yells for Asagi to answer him. Asagi manages to apologize to him before passing out, but I don’t think Kojou heard her. She is lying there, face down with her hand outstretched to the phone, but there is a piece of that red stuff between her hand and the phone. I wonder if Nina is going to take over Asagi’s body, or hide within it. That would be just too perfect!

Episode 21 –

When Kojou finds Asagi, she’s dead. His anger knows no bounds, and the magic he releases could destroy the island. Only the thought of his sister calms him down. As Yukina berates him, Kou shows up. One look and Kojou is ready to rampage again. A fight breaks out and Kou transforms into a lump of moving metal. He can’t be fought this way, so Kojou calls for Al-Maisan Mercury, and tries to fight Kou that way. Kou disappears, but I doubt he’s defeated. It would have been too easy.

Once Kou is gone, Asagi wakes up! She can’t understand why she’s covered in blood and wonders what happened to her. Kojou just laughs, relieved that Asagi is all right. He thinks everything is over, but he should know better than that! Kojou will take Asagi to his mom for a quick exam to make sure she’s okay. Yukina is going back to her teacher to make her report. Kojou wonders if she will end up dressed as a maid too. LOL I think he likes that idea!

Asagi doesn’t really want to walk around, covered in blood, so Kojou takes her home with him. Nagisa is surprised by her appearance and Asagi is sent to the bathroom. She notices that her earring is still missing. As she bathes, Asagi finds a small red sphere embedded in her chest. She touches it, something happens, and Asagi faints.

Kojou spits out his coffee when a naked Asagi walks into the room. She notes that Kojou is “no ordinary human”, and knows that he’s a vampire as well. Kojou ends up with a bad nosebleed and demands that Asagi put her clothes on. She apologizes for not being fully awake, and upon touching some flowers that are on the table, she magically creates a towel. When Kojou questions that, she tells him that she “just used the contents of the vase to make silk”. Kojou mentions alchemy and Asagi wants to know why he’s surprised. She is Nina Adelard of Palmia after all. I knew it! Nina hid inside Asagi’s body! But now I wonder what will become of Asagi.

Nina explains to Kojou about the Hard Core and the Wiseman’s Blood. Nina ended up saving Asagi by taking over her body and healed her from within. Kojou appreciates that and thanks Nina, which surprises her. They end up being on a first name basis and Kojou tells her that he’s killed her student, Kou, and apologizes. But Nina tells him that Kou is still alive. He may just be a contaminated dummy core, but he’s still around. And at that very moment, Kou has been caught entering Natsuki’s domain.

Natsuki is all ready to throw Kou into the prison barrier, but asks why he’s after Kanon. Kou tells her that he sees no reason to let Kanon survive and intends to finish what he had started five years ago. He breaks free of Natsuki’s trap and turns to liquid metal again. Natsuki walks away, telling Astarte to finish him. She attacks him and Kou turns back into a core that rolls to Natsuki’s feet. Natsuki picks it up and mentions five years ago. Now what?

Kojou asks Nina what Kou is after, but she doesn’t know. She just wants the Wiseman’s Blood and once she has it, promises to leave Asagi’s body. Nina leans forward and asks for Kojou’s help. LOL Looks like he’s about to get another nosebleed! He hastily promises to help just as long as Nina gets dressed. That piece of silk isn’t covering much and it seems to be slipping a bit. LOL

Once Nagisa returns from the store, Nina is wearing a track suit, but doesn’t seem to like it much. Kojou warns Nina to pretend that she’s Asagi in front of his sister. This is going to be very funny, I think. To make matters worse, Yukina has showed up as well. She and Nagisa talk about the upcoming training camp. It seems that Yukina is really looking forward to this trip and is well prepared. Nina asks about Kanon and seems happy that she is doing well.

The following day, Yukina warns Kojou not to get into any trouble while she’s gone. Too funny since “trouble” seems to be constantly attracted to him! Once he sees the girls off, he hears a scream and goes running to Nina, but it isn’t Nina. It’s Asagi again and she wants to know why she’s in Kojou’s bed! Kojou tells her to calm down as he explains, but Asagi assumes the worst and begins to cry. But Asagi seemed disappointed when Kojou convinced her that nothing happened. LOL She even tells him that he’s “useless”!

Nina takes over as a distant rumble is heard. She tells Kojou that it’s the Wiseman’s Blood. Yaze is monitoring the movement as well. When it comes above ground, the defense force tries freezing it. It works, but then Kou shows up. He calls the frozen thing “director” and it breaks free of the ice, as it recognizes Kou. The defense force fires upon it, but Yaze warns them that it needs the bullets for alchemy. A reaction begins as Kou tells Wiseman to come back to life! Mogwai warns Yaze to run and the port explodes. It looks like Wiseman escaped into the ocean.

Kojou and Nina are on the scene too, and Nina tells him about a beam weapon and Wiseman. Wiseman is a manmade god that wants complete destruction of everything – and now he’s awake! The school girls are on a boat, heading to their training camp. Something is seen in the ocean and the girls think it’s a dolphin. But Yukina and Kanon know better. Wiseman is coming after Kanon!

Episode 22 –

spoiler

Kou is on the boat and Yukina is determined to protect Kanon. Kou attacked the monastery five years before in order to use Kanon as an offering. Kanon runs away in order to save everyone else and Yukina tries to go after her, but Kou attacks her and disappears.

Nina leaves Asagi, and is able to reconstruct a body, but she’s still Asagi. This Asagi has an upgrade though – a bigger chest! LOL And Kojou is ready for a nosebleed, but Natsuki arrives on the scene. I like how she blames Kojou for Nina looking like Asagi with the addition of a bigger chest. Kojou tells Natsuki about Wiseman, and Natsuki already knows where Wiseman is headed and why.

La Folia will provide them with transportation and Sayaka has given Kojou the perfect nickname – “Pervert Progenitor”. I love it! Sayaka provides Kojou with Yukina’s weapon. Meanwhile, Kou has cornered Kanon, the spirit medium he needs to resurrect Wiseman. Kanon remembers Kou from five years ago, and tells him that he’s being used. He gets angry at that, because Wiseman is supposed to make him human again. Kanon tells Kou that Wiseman will not grant Kou’s wish because he was never human to begin with.

That makes Kou angry enough to attack Kanon and Yukina saves her just in time. But all Yukina has to defend them is a knife. Hurry up, Kojou! Kou creates a liquid metal army, but is distracted by what he thinks is a missile. Of course, it’s only Kojou, and Yukina is happy to see him – and her weapon. Nina is there as well, but Yukina is confused by her appearance as Asagi. However, this little reunion has given Kou enough time to recover and it’s time to get back to fighting.

The combination of Kojou’s Familiar and Yukina’s weapon make short work of Kou’s liquid army. Nina tells him to give up and to hand over Wiseman’s skull. She tells Kou that he is only a homunculus that Wiseman created to use towards his own ends. Kou still doesn’t believe this. Nina tells Kou that no matter what he is, his heart can still be human. Still disbelieving, Kou drops the skull and Wiseman speaks, telling them all that it’s too late.

However, it really isn’t Wiseman, and he really isn’t after Kanon after all. All this Wiseman truly wanted was seawater, and the traces of precious metals that it contains. The skull becomes a large golden blob-like creature, and it shoots a beam of light from its mouth. Kojou calls out a Familiar just in time, but there is a massive explosion even so. Yukina and Kanon seem to be all right and covered in Wiseman’s Blood from Nina, but it looks like Kojou has been turned into a metal statue. What is left of Nina tells Yukina how Kojou saved everyone. Yukina cries over Kojou. She knows he’s immortal and hopes he’s all right, but Nina tells her that if Kojou isn’t dead, he can’t come back to life.

Yukina can’t believe this and as her tears fall, the entire scene crystallizes, leaving only her. Yukina watches as another Familiar is awakened, and Kojou comes back to life. But the Familiar can’t be controlled, and Yukina runs to Kojou, kissing him and giving him her blood. He takes his cue and bites into her neck. The golden monster makes another appearance and Kojou is able to hit him this time. Kojou faces it again with Yukina at his side. Kou pops up again to protect the monster. Kojou calls forth his Familiars as Yukina deals with Kou.

There is no need for Kou to fight anymore, but he doesn’t know how to do anything else. A few words from Yukina makes Kou realize that he only had to wish to be human to actually become human. Yukina destroys Kou, but I think at the end, he finally got his wish and died as a human. Kojou is left to deal with Wiseman now. Wiseman isn’t as perfect as he thinks he is. Kojou releases his new Familiar, Sadalmelik Albus. This one has the form of a woman and it destroys Wiseman. Afterwards, Kojou collapses with exhaustion, and Yukina lets him rest on her lap. How sweet!

Nina collected the remaining Wiseman’s Blood, but could only create a doll-like body for herself. And Kanon wants to keep her! LOL Nagisa arrives with a ton of questions, and so does the airship from La Folia, carrying Natsuki and Sayaka. Kojou apologizes to Yukina for ruining her trip, but Yukina says that it’s just proof that she can never take her eyes off of him, for he only gets into trouble and meets other women. LOL She will just have to observe him more closely now. I hope Asagi is okay too. They never showed her after Nina left her. This part of the story may be over, but I still wonder when Meiga is going to make his appearance, if ever. I was kind of left hanging with that part. Well, perhaps he’ll pop up in the next episode.

Ep. 24

Kojou just went to the top of the Harem Leads list.

Having 2 daughters, 1 with Asagi and 1 with Yukina…

Episode 23 –

spoiler

A Yukina from the future? Seems like it. She knows odd things, but doesn’t seem to know much about Kojou. And hasn’t anyone noticed that her eyes are a different color? Perhaps Yukina’s dream is coming true after all. Where is she?

Natsuki might have picked up on something, but “Aunt” Nagisa interrupts them. I am wondering now if this Yukina is really Yukina’s and Kojou’s daughter. And after Yukina gets excited over “Doc” Asagi, did she get a nosebleed? Is she a vampire? And what have Dimitrie and Sayaka found?

Kojou finally realizes that Yukina is not Yukina, although she tells him that “technically” she is. As they talk, the real Yukina shows up, ready to fight, and telling Kojou to get away from the other Yukina. Time for explanations! But not quite yet, as the girls rub one another the wrong way, a dragon looking creature shows up. The fake Yukina seems to have been expecting it too.

Whatever the beast is, it attacks and fake Yukina pushes Kojou out of the way, taking the strike that was intended for him. The monster still gets hold of Kojou and it looks like it sucks out his power. The real Yukina fights it, but it goes after Kojou again. Yukina attacks and just like her dream, Schneesturm Wolfin breaks apart. The creature goes for her, but the fake Yukina is suddenly there, protecting Yukina with a similar golden lance. Victory! At least for now.

At Kojou’s look of surprise, the fake Yukina tells Kojou that she’s inherited the “curse of immortality”. She also followed the beast there, and says that the creature will bring disaster to the island. Kojou asks who she is and she is just about to answer when Natsuki shows up. Kojou is not to ask and fake Yukina is not to answer. Nuts!

Natsuki will take care of the fake Yukina and tells Kojou to look after the real one. Yukina is still kneeling next to her broken lance, and telling Kojou that what the fake Yukina had said was right - “being too hard makes you fragile”. This time, even the core of the weapon has been destroyed. From a nearby rooftop, Dimitrie and Sayaka have been watching events unfold. Sayaka wonders who the other Yukina is, but once again, Dimitrie thinks things just got “interesting”.

Back in her apartment, Yukina packs away her broken weapon. Is the rest of her dream about to come true as well? The Lion King Organization has just ordered her return!

Episode 24 –

spoiler

The fake Yukina tells the others about the beast. Asagi is trying to hold the island together. Sayaka checks in with Kojou and the real Yukina, but something seems wrong with the real one. She tells them that she just didn’t sleep well. When it’s brought up, Kojou realizes that it’s only been three months since he met Yukina. But Yukina tells him it will be over soon since she has been recalled, and that is probably because of all her mistakes. Instead of just observing Kojou, as she was supposed to do, she ended up making him more powerful. Now, her weapon is broken and she’s useless.

Kojou wants to say something but holds his tongue. Sayaka does say something, but Yukina tells her that it’s the best thing for both her and Kojou. Yukina tells them that she is leaving that afternoon and gives Kojou a few last words. The tears fall as Yukina tells him that she had fun. I know she doesn’t want to leave Kojou, and he doesn’t want her to either. He’s trying to be noble and protect her, but he really needs to tell her how he feels. Kojou not saying anything is only going to make Yukina feels worse. Crying harder, Yukina runs away, and Kojou never said a word.

Sayaka asks Kojou what he’ll do, and he reminds her of what she once said to him. If he weren’t around, Yukina would never be in danger. Her leaving like this is for the best. In response, Sayaka slaps him and calls him a wimp. LOL But he needed that slap. She knows that this isn’t what Yukina really wants. Sayaka knows darn well that Yukina feels that her place is with Kojou. She wants him to fight to keep Yukina with him, no matter the danger. Kojou realizes that Sayaka is right and thanks her. He hurries off to the airport to stop Yukina from leaving. However, Sayaka is still a little confused over Yukina’s order to return.

Unfortunately, the beast returns and I don’t think Kojou is going to make it to the airport in time. Asagi calls Kojou and tells him that the island is going to sink in about thirty hours. She tells him to escape and survive. Kojou calls her an idiot – like he’d really run off and leave her behind. She tears up and starts to tell him about the time she kissed him, but the call is cut off as the phone system breaks down. Yukina is at the airport and can feel the attack, but isn’t sure what to do.

The fake Yukina appears and asks Yukina why she isn’t going to Kojou. She obviously wants to. Yukina says that she’s useless to Kojou now without her weapon, so she can’t go. If they can’t fight together, there is nothing else to hold them together. Yukina, you are so blind! Fake Yukina tell her to put her noble reasons aside and asks what Yukina, the girl, wants. Well, that answer is obvious – of course she wants to stay with Kojou! Fake Yukina is happy that Yukina was finally honest with herself, and offers her a way of getting back to Kojou quickly.

Kojou calls out one of his Familiars, but it seems the beast can’t be killed. Natsuki and Astarte show up to help, as well as Sayaka. Kojou summons two more Familiars and Sayaka attacks at the same time. They think they’ve killed the beast this time, but of course it isn’t that easy. This time when Kojou uses a Familiar to attack, he feels the counter attack as well. Dimitrie shows up in his usual arrogant way, and takes over the fight, saying that it will most likely sink the island. Yukina shows up with a new, stronger version of her weapon and stops Dimitrie, but also attacks the beast as well. That seemed to do the trick, at least for now, and Yukina and Kojou have a very sweet reunion.

Yukina steps back and offers her neck to Kojou, and without any hesitation whatsoever, he jumps on her! He feeds deeply as everyone else watches. I did like the look on fake Yukina’s face. LOL But of course the beast isn’t dead and gets up again, aiming an attack at the entwined couple. But Kojou protects Yukina and is ready to fight back. So are Yukina and the fake Yukina, who tells Kojou a little of the beast and how it uses magic. Then the Yukinas cross their weapons and combine their powers.

Asagi is still working frantically to save the island and refuse to escape. Kojou adds his power to the others. The girls attack a weak spot and Kojou uses his Regulus Aurum to finish the job. It works this time! The beast disappears and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. Meiga finally makes an appearance too, and has the lance he stole with him. I wonder why he’s in contact with Mogwai – another mystery! And of course it’s the last episode, so I doubt my curiosity will be satisfied. Yukina says that she wants to stay on the island, and will ask to have her order to return revoked. Kojou looks pretty happy at that.

Sayaka has to interrupt them and tells them that the order to return is just for a medical exam. Those in contact with vampires have to undergo regular examinations. This is to prevent “blood bonding”. That might be a little late in Yukina’s case. LOL Sayaka and Yukina will only be gone for three days. Then again, three days is probably enough for Kojou to get into plenty of trouble by himself! I like the little argument this sparked between Kojou and Yukina. Fake Yukina says that it’s a lovers’ quarrel and they are very close. Of course Yukina and Kojou have to protest that!

Fake Yukina says that she enjoyed meeting them both and watching them have fun with one another. However, it’s time for her to leave now. Yukina asks for her name, but she just says that they will meet again someday. Just before she disappears, the fake Yukina calls the real Yukina “mom”. Once she’s gone, I had to laugh at the looks on Kojou’s and Yukina’s faces! LOL Didn’t they figure it out by now?

Kojou and Yukina talk a little about this mysterious girl and Kojou wonders who she was. He also mentions how much she looked like Yukina. He thought they could have been mother and daughter, and mentions too that the girl did call Yukina “mom”. But Yukina says that she was also a vampire. That makes the both of them pause a minute. Then Kojou says “Nah, couldn’t be.” Dense and Clueless, together once again! LOL Yukina agrees with Kojou, and things get a little awkward.

Kojou folds up the uniform the fake Yukina left behind, but when he tries to hand it to Yukina, something falls out and Kojou picks up a pair of panties. The offended Yukina calls him a pervert and aims her weapon at him, as Kojou protests. Yeah, things are back to normal with them! LOL Actually, things are back to normal all around. It was nice to see Kojou waiting after school for Yukina. But he still falls asleep during class! LOL

After the credits, fake Yukina returns from whence she came, and it turns out her name is Reina. A girl named Moegi is there to greet her, and she resembles Asagi. They discuss the magical beast and Reina wonders where “Doc” is. Moegi tells her that “mom” went out to check a lead on a magical beast. She is Asagi’s daughter! Reina called Asagi “Doc” when she first saw her. These girls also live in an empire. I wonder if it’s Kojou’s. Wouldn’t that just be too perfect? Emperor Kojou and his harem! LOL

Moegi asks about the world of twenty years ago and Reina tells her that it was fun. Reina leaks another bit of info – she says that she got to see her father, before he died! What? But Moegi says that he isn’t dead and that Reina just spoke to him. Moegi reminds her that Kojou can’t die, but Reina just smiles. She looks out a window at the surroundings and calls it the “Empire of the Dawn”. The island has grown! Excellent story! And the ending just ties everything up in a nice, big bow. But I could see another season. There are still plenty of mysteries left to solve. I would still like to see more of Meiga and exactly why he’s around. But all in all, a great anime!

Considering the number of females that were attracted to him, I get the distinct feeling that there may be more of his children around. And I bet at least one looks just like La Folia! He is the Fourth Progenitor after all. LOL
