Rumor has it that this season won’t be on Netflix

If true, then I won’t have to resub to Netflix to watch it.

To this day, I refuse to believe there is a season 2…

Sarah is Takagi…

Like I said on twitter, Funi needs to license S2 for home video and redub with the S1 cast. Heck if Sentai were to do it, that would be even better

I’m going to assume that it bombed on Netflix.

And hey! This might be the sign that Sentai might actually be picking up steam again!

I’m thinking a lot of shows are not doing as well on Netflix as they once were.
Though it could be how they are handling the common sense issues of the translations and on screen text putting some off.

I’m not seeing as many thoughts on series and stuff they stream as I do from streams on CR, HiDive, or Funimation.

Hopefully S2 is one of those Netflix only licensed the streaming rights and Sentai can get it for Blu-ray plus bring back S1’s cast.

Just one thing, if you all decide to dub it, get the S1 cast back, please

I’m wondering if non top tier shows switching platforms just causes them to fail on the new platform, as the fans might not have a membership with the other platform.

BTW, if most of the fans are only those who use the free tier on streaming services, this series may bomb just as hard if not harder on HiDive.

How many of the S1 English dub cast are exclusive to Funimation?

Answering my own question:
Only Blake Shepard and Jad Saxton have worked for Sentai. All the rest of the Funi VAs appear to be exclusive.

I think the recent Netflix anime failures are due to their “Netflix jail” policy that appears to no longer be in effect as of this season just ending. Their decision to cut back to a two week delay for Blue Period and Komi Can’t Communicate was a seismic shift for the company that thought that they could dictate to the anime community how to watch current seasonal series.

Damn, S5R, what a prophetic post! Maybe Sentai will be able to get the physical release rights from Netflix.

Sarah Wiedenheft (Takagi herself) has done a couple Sentai roles. She was Phos on Land of the Lustrous, as well as well as Ao-Chan in Ao-Chan can’t study!

Not only should it get a new dub with new V.A.s but the movie as well.
4 different seasons/movie with 4 different dub casts.

Hilarity ensues…

It’s entirely possible. Right now if someone wanted to they could get a year of HiDive for I think it’s $23.99 and have it for this when it starts streaming. It’s a good deal ,but some of those consider paying anything to much money. There was one post I saw well Sentai got this time to sail the seven seas. :unamused:

You know if Sentai started going after all these illegal sites streaming the content. They would be the bad guy to them. :unamused:

I only made this point because I have a friend who doesn’t pay for CR, and may only watch legally when possible (I assuming on this last point)

Assuming the fans I talked about using the free tier services are using the legal options (or at least what seems legal because they may lack the knowledge to know site X is actually illegal), the fact HiDive doesn’t have a free option might put it in the same spot as Netflix and Prime Video, if they didn’t have a reason to use the service before (like they buy a lot on Amazon to use the Prime 2 day shipping and Prime Video is just a bonus for them), they may not want to pay extra for it. And there’s a chance it may turn out to be a “Netflix jail” for them because they’ll just wait for the series to be done, and then binge when they have the time to do so.

I’m kinda ignoring the pirates in what I’m saying. More than likely, they’ll always be pirates and it won’t matter where the series will air.

Um, Sentai got the movie rights, too… didn’t you read that?
