Sadly, DVDS are being phased out all over the place, it’s not just anime.
You might be able to find an older composite Blu-ray player a a pawn store. That’s the type I have. I got it for $30 and it works like a charm!

I think it’s due to cost. Maybe the combo packs cost less to manufacture and sell more units. Just think; The Blu-Ray copy can be watched at home, and the DVD can be used on a road trip or loaned to a friend.
The combo packs outsell regular DVD editions, which is why some companies have dumped them altogether. Even though they cost bit less to produce, they are more likely to be returned by the vendor.
A lot of companies are dropping DVD support, especially in more niche markets. As home video sales continue to decline, and blurays make up a larger and larger chunk of what is left, there will be fewer and fewer options for DVD buyers.
Well I ordered two more releases from the sale today . As for what I’ll let that be a surprise .
On another note I think at this point we are lucky there is even actual in hand media being released . So much leftover stock at the end of every year .
So very true. Digital media is nice, but nothing beats being able to hold a show you enjoy in your hands.
I decided to go ahead with getting something I’ve wanted for some time now while it was on sale. I’ll post it in the SFDVD thread when the package arrives.

Must have been a error. Not showing that anymore. Its a great sale. Including some stuff not even on sale on right stuf right now. I decide to catch up on some releases for now and probably will pick during christmas/holiday sales.
Also I will always be more into physical then digital.
