Video Game News & Discussion 2009-2017

I just purchased Super Stardust HD from the PS Network. Really fun game, similar to Asteroids, but much better. Also got the add-on for Wipeout HD. I love this game. Best racing game ever made in my opinion. Also pick up Frogger(new version). Another fun game.

Steam was has been having a mega sale recent that started some time around Christmas, and lasted through jan 3rd. So I bought: Assassin’s Creed, Bioshock, Shattered Horizon, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:Shadow of Chernobyl. Each for around 5 dollars. AC is fun as hell, didn’t think I’d like playing the game as much as I am right now, even though it gets frustrating at times, I haven’t had to stop playing a game just because I was getting too angry in a long time. Bioshock I haven’t been able to run yet because of the retarded security program they put into it just to make sure people wouldn’t pirate it. Thought they’d leave it out if I bought from Steam and downloaded from there. So I’m troubleshooting it now, thinking about pirating it just because I can say I bought it but that it was easier to use a pirated edition. Shattered Horizon is something that I bought on a whim after reading the description, it’s a totally 3 dimensional FPS that takes place in space, floating around asteroids and chunks of the ISS. It’s fun, but there’s no tutorial or single player aspect for me to get used to the controls, so I’m taking it slow on the game. I’ve only loaded up STALKER once now, but it seems good too, and it’s not setup like a standard FPS, so it’ll take some getting used to as well.

Also, since I got my new GPU, been playing L4D2 a lot as well, though not as much as I thought since this sale took place. 4 great games for 25, not such a bad deal. Some games they only had on sale for one day, so I missed out on those which I’m really kind of mad about… I need more than a day to make a decision on buying something. Missed: Mirror’s Edge at 9.99, Mass Effect at 9.99, and Devil May Cry 4 at 22.49. Would have really liked those games…

Have you played ACII and if so, how does it compare to the first?

I’ve been playing the PS3 like no tomorrow lately. It’s good to play a bunch of awesome platformers again.

AC2 blows AC away in every feasible manner. It has a better story, better character development, better gameplay, better gameplay elements, better locales, more to do, more variety, more weapons, more skills for Ezio to learn than AltƤir, etc. It also lasts a LOT longer.

As for myself, I’ve been playing AC2 a lot lately, but now I’m getting into Batman Arkham Asylum. Truly an amazing game as well. I/ve also recently picked up WWE SvR 2010 and Ninja Gaiden II. Now I’m trying to determine whether or not to pick up Bayonetta.

Haven’t played ACII yet at all, waiting until I at least finish the first. Ya, I have noticed that the variety in the first one isn’t expanding too much. The missions are all the same, first thing I do in every town is climb all the towers and save all the women and men being raped. Then I do a few of the story line missions, which don’t reveal too much about the story at all, just where and when people are located. I mostly do the ones that I think are feasible still, but I stopped trying to complete every one until I get to the final mission of the town. And the new weapons and skills I get at the end of each town are pretty lame now, just getting basic fighting skills that should have been open up from the beginning. I mean, who actually has to learn to dodge? and why is this half way through the game? Still fun, don’t get me wrong, still loving the game, but only have like an hour at a time to play with it, so I feel like I should actually be earning something other than more HP (or synchronization points… it’s HP).

Damnit, I want to get a PS3…

Can’t wait to the second one myself!

I know how you feel man. I just hate dropping $300 on anything.

Pre-ordered Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle for Wii yesterday. Capcom added another character to Tatsunoko VS Capcom Yatterman-2 and there is rumors going around of maybe more showing up.

Kind of miss having a 360 for some games ,but at the same time Wii and DS have kept me entertained with some of the non-kid games heck even some of the kid games have been entertaining.

This Guy!

Considering I can’t even get the first to work on my computer, not too stoked…

I’ve been plotting on robbing a bank to purchase an Xbox 360. Ha! Then I’ll finally be able to buy MW2. >; -is tired of rich people bragging about how fun the game is-

Jk. I’m planning on buying Bayonetta(I think that’s how you spell it! -shrugs-). That game looks so badass! x0

I just got my bonus, so I might actually be getting a 360 pretty soon, mostly so that I can play MW2. Mostly everyone I know plays it on the 360, and I would be playing so that I could play online as well, which is probably why I’m not going to get a ps3 instead.

Some coworkers of mine convinced me to play WoW, first time I’ve actually enjoyed playing this game out of the numerous times I’ve tried and played it. Mostly because I plan times to get online and play it with them. Plus, they actually paid for the game and my first month with it.

The only games I’m really stoked about for this year are Fallout New Vegas and the new Zelda game. Rumor has it that the new installment of LoZ will be a sequel to Majora’s Mask, but I’m not sure if those rumors are from a credible source.

I am completely passing on MW2. I’ve heard that the single player campaign is only around 6 hours, and I am not a big multiplayer fan.

I have an insanely large list of games to get this year. Soon will be Bioshock 2 and FFXIII.

Same here. I originally asked for MW2 for Christmas, but changed my mind to AC2 instead (I’m pretty sure I made the right choice there). If I want to get my online game on, I just play some Left 4 Dead.

Damn it, that reminds me of how I can’t beat Bioshock. Not that it’s too hard, but the game glitched on me. The gameplay got all jumpy at one point, making it impossible to enjoy. Maybe if I start a new save file it won’t mess up. I did get pretty far, but it was without difficulty for the most part.

Speaking of games for 2010, anyone have a comprehensive list of releases?

MW2 has great online support, it’s probably the one game that will that actually would get me to play online multiplayer more. I go over to my friend’s place all the time to play it on his PS3, and all we do is trade off the controller in between matches. We don’t play story mode, and playing the game 1 on 1 is kinda lame if you ask me.

And as much as I like L4D2, I’m not really a fan of playing it online too much. I really only like it for the LAN support, or when you get to play with friends you know how to play with, because playing with a bunch of random people always seems like a bad story to me, especially since that game depends so much on group cooperation.

I love the new CoD! Haven’t got to play online too much, just a few hours at my buddy’s house. A lot more options with this one.

Haven’t picked up any new games lately, but have picked up Mario Party 4, 5, 7 for the Gamecube(play it on Wii). I had MP 8 since I bought my Wii 3 years ago, and now all I need is MP 6. I love these games.
