Seriously, you can’t sneeze towards the president without the secret service getting involved. It’s crazy.

Yeah, they really cracked down after the whole Reagan getting shot thing.[/quote]
Yes, but I think they forgot about GW Bush. They were walking outside the White House with pictures of him hanging, with him in the cross hairs, etc.

Well, people do the same thing to Obama. They do often run background checks on the people, or up security, but they only get really uppity if people start making verbal or written threats. Or if you attempt to insight mob violence, like Teg Nugent, but who really cares about a draft dodging pedophile?
Some people think “freedom speech” means you can say whatever you want, whenever you want, with no consequences whatsoever. I hate when I hear people clamoring about freedom of speech in instances like when advertisers pulled out of the Rush Limbaugh show after he made extremely sexist and ignorant remarks about a woman who testified in front of Congress (not that it was the first time he had made similar comments.) However, he didn’t end up in jail. He wasn’t fined. That’s freedom of speech. It doesn’t mean that you won’t ever face other consequences for what you say.
It reminds me of that old example my teachers always use; where you can’t yell “fire” in a crowded theatre if there is no clear danger. It incites panic and fear where it is neither needed nor wanted. It is a little out from the topic, but I thought of putting in my two cents. ^-^;
Oh, cool; my thousandth post. Umm… I don’t know what to say. I love you guys! ^ω^
