Ep. 23
You did great Tatsumi, Rest in Peace
Wow, they actually had the guts to do it. I wish theyād shown the emperor and his obese minister being taken out as well though.
Iām a bit surprised that Esdeath was out in the town during that fight.
If the show were to completely mess with the minds of the manga readers (and as vengeance upon those who tried incessantly to spoil the whole show each week I almost wish that they would) and have the show end with Esdeath emerging victorious and becoming the new head of the empire, Iād be OK with that.

Ep.24
Well itās over, and Iām okay with the way they ended it, but still wish that Esdeath had brought Tatsumi back to life as her last act, meaning, she finally got a clue, but whatever. Iāll put it on my maybe list, or get it when a complete collection comes out for it.
I have to say that I rather enjoyed the ending to that.
From what Iāve heard of the manga, I believe the show made the right choice in going down a different path. I am concerned that those who took perverse pride in posting manga āspoilersā all across the internet may have had the last laugh though as they may be why I consider some parts of the lead up to the ending of AGK to be rushed (eg: lack of char dev for Ran). Would I have thought that certain chars were underdevād if I hadnāt heard that they had been given much more backstory in the manga?
That said, the ending itself didnāt feel rushed to me. It didnāt have to resort to contrived shenanigans to wrap things up, and that is pretty rare. The show also showed that monsters, no matter what they do, donāt get to live happily ever after and thatās even rarer.
This was, in many ways, the inverse of Season 2 of Chaika.
(Anime needs more Seryu/Esdeath-type characters. Wouldnāt mind some more Wave-like antivillains either)

BioZero216
ā@Sentaifilmworks is on Twitter more than any other dubbing company. Donāt they have AGK to dub?
Sentai Filmworks
ā@BioZero216 we do!
If only Sentai could find a way to get a dub of AGK out there before the normal 12-18 month turnaroundā¦
I thought as much, and even posted on FP saying that I wouldnāt call it a āconfirmationā when someone said that tweet was a confirmation.
http://www.otakureview.net/?p=13382
So there I was this past weekend, enjoying some much needed downtime when a question popped up on my Ask.fm account pointing out a tweet which seemingly confirmed that Sentai Filmworks would be dubbing Akame ga Kill and asking me for my opinion on the matter. I didnāt answer the question right away though because something about the comment seemedā¦ soft and non-committal and now Iām glad that I didnāt say anything.
Today I spoke with Sentai Filmworks and got the real story: they didnāt confirm anything and while they are considering giving Akame ga Kill a dub track nothing has been set in stone. To quote Sentai Filmworks directly, āThereās a pretty good chance of it happening, canāt really say much beyond thatā¦ might end up like most of Night Raid if I do!ā
So there you have it folks, they are THINKING about dubbing Akame ga Kill but I think weāve all learned a valuable lesson in assuming or jumping to conclusions.
Thatās a good enough reason to not confirm itā¦
I can see thinking about making an LE for it, but the dub has to be a foregone conclusion at this point. Besides, whatās the harm in committing now? Funi has gotten the fandom used to having to wait eternities for promised dubs, Sentai can use that road that Funi paved lol.
This is why they need to reintegrate David Williams into their PR setup as he had his ācanāt confirm or denyā routine down pat
Kind of wish theyād release it with the translate title:
Red Eye KILL!
A very grindhouse-y title for a grindhouse-y show, but seeing as Yen press is already releasing the manga as Akame, oh shucks.
Dunno, I kinda like the ācoolerā sound to Akame ga Kill.
Also, a certain news station might not take kindly to that title lol.
Q. Any news about Akame Ga Kill?
A. Right now thereās not much. We have, however, started talking about it internally, so hopefully some news will roll out soon!

Q. Hey Sentai, what is the status on Akame ga Kill? Also is it going to get a dub?
A. We are in the planning stages for Akame ga Kill! right now, so itās definitely being talked about. As far as a dub, all I can say is that I have a good feeling about it!
A dub is practically within its grasp. You could bet on it.
