Cherri isn’t the only one I can think of off the top of my head with multiple pronunciations. I recall Nagisa also has the same issue…
Having watched both seasons of AKB0048 on DVD I have to say its a great series, my only beef is like a lot of others is in Sentai Filmworks not Subtitling all the songs.
Spoiler Alert, I was surprised in Nagisa becoming the 14th. Aachan and Cherie becoming the New Center Nova, I have seen in comments posted in the comments sections of episodes on YouTube that there is going to be a Third Season of this series.
If that is the case, then I think that we as Fans should write to Sentai Filmworks and demand that they Subtitle All the Songs not just the Opening and Closing Songs and that should Re-Release the First two Seasons with all the Songs Subtitled.
I give the Series 5 Stars for all of it, and 2 Stars for Sentai’s subtitling, I will give them credit fororiginal ok a good English Vocal Cast .
Also does anyone know why in the Japanese Vocal Cast list of the trainees Nagisa is listed last or next to last or why in the English Vocal Cast Mimori is still referred to by her original name after she becomes Mariko the 8th.
I am also wondering why in the listing of the Japanese Vocal Cast for episode 26,that Nagisa is not called Aachan the 14th? ,but you got to admit she does look like and should have seen that this was going to happen based on Nagisa’s dream in episode 14 in which she sees the 13th Aachan.
Please feel free to chime in with your thoughts on this.
Good Day.
This belongs in the proper AKB0048 thread.

And this kind of surprises me, since it’s only a few posts down and you were actually looking at it before you decided to make a separate unnecessary thread.
Here you go.
If only the show pages contained obvious links to their forums threads. Perhaps some sort of list, organized by show, of the forum threads.
The search function works reasonably well, if one remembers to adjust the time parameter and to search the entire forum structure.
Yeah, I suggested something similar to that, specifically having the Discuss tab for each show linked to each individual forum thread instead of the Community Groups homepage like it is now.
But that would take a lot of time and work, so it’s never came to fruition.
In this guy’s particular case though, he was actually looking at this thread before he decided to make his own.
He has a habit of creating unnecessary threads instead of posting what he wants to say in the proper thread.
Usually he does it with his VOD stuff and has been repeated told by Slow to post it in the proper VOD thread.
I can never get the search to work, if a show’s thread has left the first two or three pages, search only gives me the whole site and I’ve tried to narrow it down and get nothing on posts I know I’ve seen.
Manabu
use the spoiler bulletin board code please when revealing major plot points. Thank you.
Don’t Tease me
Nothing more that i want then a 3 season to see more nagisa as Acchan and become the Real new Center Nova
Spoiler
 Dont worry we all know that Nagisa is number 1

I doubt that there will be a 3rd season, due to the fact that some of the members of NO NAME (The trainee group) were all played by members of AKB48 or one of their splinter groups, and that a few of them have now graduated. Until it’s announced by a reputable source, talk of a 3rd season is just rumors.
I’d also have serious doubts about a third season as that would require an entirely new plot line.
Well i hope all you guys are wrong :pinch: Plus Rumor has it that… there well be a third season call Last Stage which kinda makes sense
First stage
Next stage
Last Stage
B)
Plus this is how Nagisa feels about it to
she’s ready for more

O.K.,Thanks for that I was only going by what I had seen posted on You Tube.
O.K.,what code?,I didn’t know there was one and I must have missed it unless it was one of the icons along with smiley faces along the top of the box for writing in.
I did put a Spoiler warning in my post,I thought that was sufficient warning even with out the code.
I’M sorry if I upset you or the other Expert Boarders, but I am not on this in the forums all that often so I am not used to doing this,so please have some patience with fresh boarders like me.
Thank You.

Edit: I knew there was something else I wanted to ask. What was the song Yukko sings in Episode 8 of Next Stage?
Do you think administrators can correct the subtitle problem? With the exception of the opening and closing songs, in the songs sung in japanese, the subtitles are not present, so there is no way of knowing what the words are in english,or even know what is being sung. Is there a way to fix this?
So I’m almost done with the series as well (via TAN)…
I’ve also bought the first season a while back but to my disappointment, the Japanese songs are not subtitled in the official disc release as well.
I’d really like to know what people are singing while watching the English dub.
Does anyone know WHY the decision was made to not translate these parts? Considering the type of show this is, it leaves me baffled as to why you wouldn’t want to translate these for the English-only viewers. Many times, I’m left wondering if the lyrics of the songs actually have any relevance to the situation AKB0048 is in…(I’m helpless to know without translations! ;-))
I’ve tried looking for song titles in the credit a few times, but TAN isn’t really good about their timestamps… (A lot of your shows have early timestamps, causing the player to stop before the video is actually over… granted, you’re mostly cutting off credits.)
I’ll most likely be purchasing season two coming out this February, but I suspect this issue will still persist.
Any insights would be helpful. Thanks!

I don’t know the reason why English subtitles aren’t provided for the songs, but I can help with the titles.
Just scroll down the page and you’ll see the song titles
AKB0048 ANN Page
AKB0048 next stage ANN Page

Thanks Slowhand for the list of songs. (I should have thought to check ANN.
)
Regardless, I’ve sent an email to Sentai-Filmworks inquiring about this issue. I’m kind of expecting no one to respond (Considering that they have never responded to any of my previous emails), but hey–you never know! Only time will tell.
If anyone else has info about this lack of subtitling, please share! I’m really interested in getting to the bottom of this.
I have to agree about the lack of subtitling concerning the music performed. For a series that is set in the music genre, there’s a surprising lack of subtitling available.
