That’s possible.
A little cheesy and anti-climactic, but possible.
Episode 5 had some good world building and its attitude towards moral crusading based solely upon feeling was intriguing, almost irregular @ magic hs esque, but the guy in the ep kinda came off as a caricature.
To think that I had basically written this one off :’(

Wow, what was up with the pacing in ep 8?
If that had been a US TV show then it would have been the “wrap everything up, in case we get canceled mid-season” ep…

Episode 8 –
spoiler
Yuu has found Alka, who is being followed by Elle Karen in disguise for some reason. Yuu asks Alka where Master Hon is before he passes out and falls from a roof. Luckily, Alka is able to catch him. Lon appears on the scene as well. He thinks Yuu is dead and tells Alka that he knows a place. Elle Karen pays him and he leads the way.
*
Hazuki is bored. Then she sees Alka with a child on her back and accompanied by Elle Karen and Lon. Hazuki runs to them and pulls her gun on Alka. Elle Karen stops her and although annoyed, Hazuki complies. Lon brings the party to Loana and the Pleasure Gang’s new hideout. Loana questions the new addition and Alka turns to show her Yuu’s wound. Loana knows immediately that he was hit with Impurity. Lon was hoping to get paid here as well, but ends up putting it on Loana’s tab. LOL
*
Yuu is put to bed and fed. Once he feels better, he tells them about Jin Varrel and what had happened. Although he stopped the Impurity with Spirit Energy, he was still hit enough that he may still die if it spreads through his body. He asks Alka again where Master Hon is, thinking that he may be able to heal him. Master Hon was Yuu’s teacher before Alka. She is left to give him the sad news that Master Hon died by Jin Varrel’s hand. Yuu is furious and asks Alka how she could let him die. Alka only says that she will get revenge. That seems to make Yuu angrier. He feels that Alka would not even care if it weren’t for her precious Code.
*
Yuu’s anger increases the strength of the Impurity and they watch as he uses Spirit Energy to hold it back. It turns out that Master Hon went to teach Alka about Impurity. Yuu says that the people that can use and control it are monsters. Meanwhile, one such monster in the form of Jin Varrel is told by Yoo Ran that they have information on Alka. Yoo Ran also says that Alka can no longer be allowed to live as she continues to damage the Flower Monks’ reputation. Yoo Ran wants to gather the soldiers, but Jin Varrel says that she won’t need them. She leaves to face Alka alone and Yoo Ran just smiles.
*
Alka brings Yuu more food and asks to know what the Master was like. As they talk about the Master, they share the food in the same way that the Master used to share with them. It looks like Yuu’s Impurity is spreading too. It also looks like he’s going to continue Alka’s teachings from the Master. He tells her that if she only thinks of one thing, she will forget herself. I wonder if Yuu is referring to her Code of revenge although he tells her that he’s referring to himself. Suddenly, Alka knows that Jin Varrel is coming!
*
Alka goes out to face the monster. It’s time for these two to face off against one another. Love the dramatic lightning strikes! It’s a good fight and then Jin Varrel begins to use Impurity against Alka. Alka manages to avoid it each time. Hazuki watches from a hiding spot with her gun aimed at the two fighters and says “she’s mine”. Loana is also watching the fight and says that the same thing is happening again. The next strike of Impurity does hit Alka and Lon comes running with his Spirit Energy. He heals Alka with it and tells her that he will protect her.
*
Yoo Ran and Ga Gante are also watching this fight. Jin Varrel attacks with Impurity again and as Yuu holds it back, Alka is able to attack Jin Varrel. The fight continues this way until Jin Varrel hits Yuu with Impurity, telling him that he’s in the way. She tries to hit him again and Yuu uses his Spirit Energy again. But it doesn’t work for long. As Alka sees this, her mark begins to glow and she yells. She jumps over to where Yuu is and takes back the fight, facing Jin Varrel alone again.
*
This time, the Impurity does not affect Alka as she walks up to Jin Varrel. Saying what Yuu had told her about forgetting herself, the women attack one another with their swords. Yoo Ran smiles and says “she’ll die”. Alka has stabbed Jin Varrel! She looks at Alka and sees someone else as Impurity flows from her. Ga Gante yells and goes to attack, but Yoo Ran stops him. Now Alka looks at Jin Varrel and sees someone else, kind of like a white version of Jin Varrel. I wonder if that was what she looked like before Impurity. As the women look at each other, the Impurity takes Jin Varrel and she’s gone. I still think Jin Varrel was nothing more than a puppet and that Yoo Ran is the true enemy.
*
There is another casualty. Yuu is dying. He tells Alka that there was so much that he still wanted to teach her. Not wanting to die from the Impurity, he asks Alka to kill him. He even picks up her blade to make his point, but Alka places her hands around his instead. She can’t do it and Yuu brings up her Code again. Yuu then apologizes when he sees how that affected Alka. He tries to touch her cheek, but his hand falls back as he dies. It begins to rain. I wonder if that rain is the tears that Alka cannot cry. Or perhaps the raindrops are hiding her tears. In any case, it looks like Alka isn’t all that unemotional after all. Yuu’s death really affected her. Although it ended on a sad note, I liked how this episode brought all the players together. But I think Alka has yet to discover her true enemy as well as the story behind her mark.
Episode 9 –
spoiler
Alka stands in front of Yuu’s grave. Hazuki notes that Alka got away once again. Loana tells her that Alka had upheld her Code and got her revenge. And of course the bounty is still being offer for Alka. She may not have much of a purpose now, but she still can’t stay in one place too long. Loana is amused to think that Hazuki believes that she can best the person that killed Jin Varrel. It looks like Yoo Ran is killing anyone that “knows”. Knows what? And who is in Ga Gante’s arms? Is Yoo Ran about to create another Jin Varrel?
*
Alka arrives in the city as a result of receiving a message. She finds the address on the note and a broken down, seemingly empty room. An old man comes out of the shadows with a lantern. Excited that she really does exist, he wants to hire her for a job as he holds out a bag of money. Alka refuses. The man brings up how the Clan of the Sword is suppose to operate and tells Alka that she’s worthless. Alka runs out of the room.
*
Alka sits and watches life in the city, thinking of her Master. Elle Karen now approaches her with a job to work for her. Alka is introduced to the staff at the inn and meets Pia again. She seems very happy with her new life. Pia tells Alka that she and Miharu will show her how things work at the inn. Miharu takes her blades and Alka is given a uniform. It obvious that Alka isn’t cut out for this type of work, but it’s pretty funny watching her try. It was a little sad to see Alka share her bun with Miharu the way that her Master and Yuu once did with her.
*
Hazuki and Loana visit the inn and Loana is surprised that this is where Alka ended up. She also notes the change in Alka. One day, Miharu tells Alka that they are alike. Miharu has killed as well and Elle Karen saved her. Miharu says that she will protect Alka if she protects her. That brings Alka more memories. Elle Karen calls Alka in for a talk. Looks like it might be time for Elle Karen’s story.
*
Once, she was nothing more than a flower seller. One night, a wounded man stopped near her, about to collapse. Elle Karen took him home and tended him. As payment, the man tells her to call the Palam soldiers and collect the bounty on him. He fell in love with her and doesn’t want to see her in that place. Looks like she fell in love with him as well. She does not call the soldiers. Once he is well again, he leaves, promising to come back for her someday, but Elle Karen didn’t believe him.
*
Elle Karen returns to selling flowers and the man really does come back. He builds the inn for her. He gives her the hair ornament that she always wears. He tells her that he is still being chased. Elle Karen says that if he is killed, she will destroy whatever his killer loves the most. Back in the present, Elle Karen says it was all like a dream. There is a picture of Elle Karen and the man hanging on the wall. When Alka sees it, she gasps. She recognizes him as a man she had assassinated. Elle Karen hands Alka a box and tells her to look inside. Alka does so and gasps again as Elle Karen tells her that the man is in there now. I wonder what that box contains to get such a reaction from Alka.
*
Elle Karen says that revenge against Alka is worthless for she has nothing she loves that Elle Karen can destroy. Alka looks really sick as she walks down the stairs and Miharu takes her back to their room. Miharu hugs Alka and says that they will always be together. I am getting a bad feeling about this. Miharu leaves to get Alka some water although Alka tells her to wait. Miharu is taking too long to return and Alka becomes concerned.
*
Miharu’s body is later found. Elle Karen says that it’s tragic, but this is the fate a killer can expect. It’s an obvious message for Alka. I wonder if she had Miharu killed or even killed her herself because she was getting close to Alka. Elle Karen tells Alka to bury Miharu and tells the others to get ready to open the inn for business. Elle Karen tells Alka to return to work as well, but Alka runs away. She later changes and taking her blades, she leaves the inn. She walks through the city in despair as she thinks of her Master again.
*
Alka suffers through a horrible vision of the people that have died. The man is there, as well as Miharu, Yuu, and many others. All of them attack her with blades. When she comes to herself again, she’s on the ground. Getting up, she thinks about the man that wanted to give her a job and called her worthless when she refused. The Clan of the Sword are killers and Alka seems to have forgotten that fact. Alka leaves the city, remembering what the man had told her about the job.
*
Alka goes to the spot where the man to be killed is supposed to be. Alka sees him and attacks, but her blade hits metal. The man removes his coat and it’s Elle Karen! Without words, Elle Karen pulls out her fan and attacks Alka. What is wrong with Alka? She can’t seem to get near Elle Karen. The woman tells Alka that not only did she kill the man she loved, but now she’s trying to kill her. Alka tries to attack again, but Elle Karen uses her fan to disarm Alka.
*
Elle Karen removes the metal armor that she was wearing around her neck, and tells Alka to kill her the way she’s supposed to. Meanwhile, she’s beating the heck out of Alka. Now that Alka is experiencing emotions, Elle Karen is able to hurt her. Elle Karen is not going to kill Alka. She wants Alka to continue to feel the pain of those newly found emotions. She laughs as she declares this to be her revenge upon Alka. It seems that Elle Karen has turned out to be another crazy one. I think too that Elle Karen might be addicted to heaven’s spirits as evidenced by the petals in the beginning of the episode. She keeps laughing as she walks away from Alka. Alka just lies there, stunned.

With Episode 9 I wish that they’d taken it further, stretched its tale out over several eps, as it didn’t have as much impact as it could have being so contained.
I mean
Alka had only just met and befriended the girl who was killed. Alka also didn’t have her guard down completely as she seemed to suspect that the girl would be killed if she left the room. If they’d let the friendship build for a while before it would have been more poignant
Also, Alka needs to switch it up as she has obviously gotten predictable.
