Quartz isn’t there either. Ironbeard doesn’t show up until later in the series, and they’re releasing it in two collections. Since collection 2 isn’t coming out until march, why bother mentioning him if he’s not even in any of the episodes on the disc?

I don’t remember much about this series, decided to wait for the dub when the sub was ~10 eps in or so, but if memory serves Hilary Haag has been cast as the navigator with the glasses reminiscent of those from her character in Orphen. If so, nicely played Sentai, nicely played.
Monica Rial as the annoying “psychic” can either be hilarious, or hilarious
Same goes for Chris Patton as the main male character.
There are a few names in there that I don’t really recognize, including one person cast in 2 roles. Hopefully that will be good & hilarious (eg:Kelly Manison in Excel Saga) as opposed to awkward (eg:Hilary Haag in The World God only Knows). I’m thinking that the apparent Monica Rial double-casting will be more of the latter. I’ve been watching a lot of Funi dubs lately, so my dub paranoia/pessimism is in overdrive.
Nice to get Carli Mosier in on a Sentai release.
I have to admit that I’m a little bit concerned about Chris Ayres directing. Hopefully this will be one to break the mold. If nothing else, it is something for him to sign, which I consider important.

I enjoyed the sub of this show very much! would collect the blue ray just for the sub!
This show rocked hope a second season gets created and that the manga is still on going in japan.
I got the first part of the series on disc, with English dubs. Can’t wait for the second part.
I’ve run across the dub and I’m honestly disappointed by the voice acting selections. It feels to me that they just don’t fit.
There will always be someone who says this about every single dub out there. It’s a fact of anime fandom. Tastes vary.
I remember hearing Clannad dub for the first time. Kyou did not sound right at all, now I can’t imagin Kyou with any other VA.
Edit: I’ve also run across the dub and I think Luci Christian as Marika Kato to be very good fit. I only watched a little I am waiting for my Blu-ray disk to ship.
I wish that TAN would get this up on streaming sooner.
I’m hoping that the dub doesn’t sound “wooden” and subdued, as the other Chris Ayres dubs from the Sentai era that I’ve heard have been. I don’t know if it’s his “strict” directing style or something else causing this, like the nature of the shows (cough Night Raid cough) themselves, but I keep noticing it. Though he, Chris Ayres, has been promoting BSP on the con circuit so I’ll definitely try it out.

I have to agree with you, Chris. In fact, Kyou now rivals Nagisa with me since I’ve seen the dub.
