CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon / Tenshi to Ryū no Rondo

Episode 2 is live at ANO

I’m starting to suspect that not all Crunchy shows are subbed equally. :frowning:

Is this English text really from the shown-in-Japan video for Ep 7?

Not only is it hilarious but it is also alarmingly above the normal Engrish that we get in these sort of things (though still flawed).

BTW, in the fight, where’d the knife go? Also, Captain Kirk approves of that fight sequence lol.

Here’s the text (It’s kind of small, Momoka does a kick ass job!)
Credit to kdroberts on the crunchyroll message board for the text

Title in the Online Player has been changed from plural “Rondo of Angels and Dragons” to singular “Rondo of Angel and Dragon”.

Nice to see that the Misurugi Empire* had the good sense to use the “imperial” measurement system for height.

The show subverted expectations a bit with the “fanservice” episode presenting the chars in more modest attire than the rest of the eps and gave us plot advancement and character development that confirmed some foreshadowing earlier on in the show.

So this week’s ep was the feels ep. The show continues to be better than expected.

Looks like T-Bag in Prison Break had it right when he was on the lam and told the doc who swore he’d never tell the police that T-Bag had been there that the last time he trusted someone who said that caused him to wind up in prison…

I wish they wouldn’t change the themes on shows mid-run. Maybe it’ll be better than what we have now but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Unfortunately the Crunchyroll Curse seems to be upon this show as it periodically stops playing no matter when I attempt to stream it. When that happens, it tends to happen on the scenes with the visual defects like these:

With 25 episodes and a rather impressive studio behind it, I have to admit that I didn’t expect art shortcuts like these.

In episode 10, I’m not sure how an a cappella song suddenly got instrumentation to accompany it. Did some off-screen band decide to add in other instruments? Was there secretly an electric guitar in there with her?

The anime trope of male and female characters having an awkward encounter, breaking character over it and then the girl beats up the dude really needs to stop. It’s always ridiculous but this ep really overdid it as she knocked him out doing this during their escape effort and had to literally drag his unconscious body to the escape craft while fighting off the guards as a result!

Ep. 11

spoiler

This show never fails to disappoint. The Mandarin Princess girl from the DRAGON world and Ange are linked to either fight or go all Yuri with each other in their past lives. You find out a bit of info on Jill, Salia and the main mechanic girl.

The base was damaged in the fight, so they might have to move their base of Operations.

Julio’s Security Chief is a humanoid DRAGON, and Sylvia found out the truth, but she got caught. Then has the gall to scream out for big sisters help. Sorry little girl you burned that bridge last episode.

IMO that was the best episode so far, even though things got kinda weird along the way.

Salia got short-changed with the Vilkiss though as she did all the work but still couldn’t bring out its full potential because she wasn’t the current reincarnation of the Chosen One. Looks like hard work doesn’t beat innate skill, upbringing and the Green Lantern Ring after all lol

To put it in another shows terms, Salia lacks the Main Character attribute.
