FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES “CAMPIONE!”

HOUSTON, June 30, 2012 — When you knock off a god, is it homicide, deicide or a really nasty secular dysfunction? Find out in Sentai Filmworks’ latest acquisition: Campione! Based on the light novels by Jo Takezuki, Campione! is directed by Keizou Kusakawa (Dog Days, Ro-Kyu-Bu!) with series composition by Jukki Hanada (Princess Jellyfish, Rozen Maiden), character designs by Masakazu Ishikawa (Squid Girl) and music by Tatsuya Katou (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, MEDAKA BOX).

Some people suddenly find religion, but for 16 year old Kusanagi Godo, it’s that REALLY old time religion that’s found him! As the result of defeating the God of War in mortal combat, Godo’s stuck with the unwanted position of Campione, or God Slayer, whose duty is to fight Herectical Gods whenever they try to muscle in on the local turf. Not only is this likely to make Godo roadkill on the Highway to Heaven, it’s also a job that comes with a lot of other problems. Like how to deal with the fact that his “enhanced status” is attracting a bevy of overly-worshippy female followers. After all, they’re just there to aid him in his demi-godly duties, right? So why is it that their leader, the demonically manipulative sword-mistress Erica Brandelli, seems to have such a devilish interest in encouraging some VERY unorthodox activities? Get ready for immortal affairs, heavenly harems and lots of dueling deities taking pious in the face as the ultimate smash, bash and thrash of the Titans rocks both Heaven and Earth in CAMPIONE!

Campione! will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow next year.

Episode 01 is live at ANO

So I’ve watched the first two episodes of this, and I’m genuinely enjoying it so far. It’s nothing special really, and it’s sort of this seasons Demon King Daimao. However, I’ve always had a soft spot for magical harems.

It also reminds me a bit of Maburaho (my favorite guilty pleasure) and Familiar of Zero (another sinful delight.). It’s not great, but it is fun so far. I just hope it doesn’t fall apart at the end like Demon King did.

I’m still genuinely enjoying this one. I really hope this pulls enough streaming numbers, or gets some international pickups, so it can be dubbed.

There’s too much anime to keep track of in my head!
So, I’ve been trying to figure out where I’ve heard the narrator in this from, more specifically which anime I’ve heard him in.
But, it wasn’t until todays episode that it finally clicked in my head.
He’s the narrator from Samurai Girls!

I saw the 3rd episode yesterday. So far so good, but really what guy in his right mind tells a beautiful girl who’s kissing him, “Don’t use your tongue?” lol Enjoyable show either way.

LOL, yea. The only reason I can think of basically comes down to this expression: Don’t do crazy

A guy who is being kissed by a girl that he neither loves nor lusts for. I should know rather well, as I’m a similar type of guy, although I’d have to resist the urge to rip her throat out for forcing herself on me like that. But that’s what comes of not being a Horn Dog after all.

I think even a Horn Dog wouldn’t want to make out with a girl who tried to kill him at some point. Maybe by Episode 7 that simple fact can be forgotten and it won’t matter as much. For some, there’s no hope.

Whatever! lol My hormones work differently. I wouldn’t stop a girl I didn’t love or lust for from playin tonsil hockey with me as long as she was pretty.

My issue is that at the start, she was willing to out right kill him. Now she suddenly lusting after him. I think that would put most people on the edge. If anything, it would take a while before I would accept that.

See, that right there. So… if she isn’t pretty? I’m not saying she’s ugly, but if she’s just average, you just reject her? You, sir, are a fool.

Tonsil Hockey, I hadn’t hear that term in a Looong time.

I’m of the opinion that appearance is only one factor in someone’s appeal. A very minor one at that.

I’m waiting on Campione to accumulate some more episodes so I can marathon it. I tried it one at a time and found that frustrating.

I get the feeling I’m being put under a magnifying glass. Given the circumstances of the show from which I’m drawing my conclusions as an example, If I don’t know said girl attractive or not I can’t base my liking off of anything other than that of physical appearance. Again it’s genes, hormones, and what I see as attractive. Fool or not we’re all animals with primal instinct. You could also say you’d be sketchy because she tried to harm you but that was before you became the pimp daddy god-slayer that she apparently has the hots for. :silly:

Episode 04 is live at ANO

I like this show but you have to take it from Godou’s perspective about Erica. First She tried to rob him, she didn’t out right try to kill him. Then he gains Verthanga’s power and she’s all hot to trot for him. I would be like Godou in this case. “What is her true Agenda?”

-I like the Princess Shrine Maiden better, but she’s a no no. If she and Godou have relations, she’ll lose her status and powers.

Sentai please dub this and put it on blu ray, there are parts of this show that just make me laugh so hard that I start coughing.
