So glad I pre-ordered it ^_^. Its got what I expected along with IMO one of my favorite english dubs.

I say in the future, this series will get the Baccano! treatment(though I hated the show but I’m glad its affordable for fans of that series). Now I wish they had a Blu-Ray/Baccano treatment for The Garden of Sinners instead of releasing a crappy DVD collection. Its making me want to save money for the blu ray.

Celebrates 10th anniversary of Ryohgo Narita’s light novels

The cast and staff of the Durarara!! anime franchise announced at Dengeki Game Festival 2014 on Sunday that a new Durarara!! television anime series is in the works. The story takes place a half year after the first series at Tokyo’s Ikebukuro neighborhood, but the broadcast date has not been announced.

The main staff is reuniting for the new series, but Brains Base is not credited. Takahiro Omori is directing at the studio Shuka. Noboru Takagi is in charge of the scripts and Takahiro Kishida is designing the characters. Makoto Yoshimori is scoring the soundtrack.

Ryohgo Narita’s Durarara!! novels with art by Suzuhito Yasuda have inspired multiple adaptations, including a television anime in 2010, multiple video games, and several manga series. Yen Press publishes the manga in North America, while Aniplex of America licensed the anime.

The new anime is part of the 10th anniversary of Durarara!! The second arc of Ryohgo Narita’s original Durarara!! light novels will be set two years in the story’s future under the title Durarara!! SH. The first Durarara!! SH volume will ship on April 10.

The Durarara!! 3way standoff -alley- V game is coming to the PS Vita on June 19. Durarara!! characters are also part of the upcoming Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax 2D crossover fighting game from Sega.

Aniplex began streaming the announcement video for the new TV anime adaptation of Ryohgo Narita’s Durarara!! light novels on Sunday. The video premiered at the Dengeki Game Festival 2014 in Akihabara.

After keeping plans vague since its announcement, an update now has the second Durarara!! anime series planned for January 2015. Staff including director Takahiro Omori, composition writer Noboru Takagi and character designer Takahiro Kishida are returning, but production credits go to Shuka rather than Brains Base.

The thumbnail is from a new Gaiden book, out in Japan on August 9th.

Voices of Celty, Mikado listed; cast for Chikage Rokujō, Aoba Kuronuma to be unveiled at October Dengeki Bunko event

The official website for the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten 2014 (Fall Festival 2014) event updated on Friday, and revealed that Miyuki Sawashiro and Toshiyuki Toyonaga- the voices of the first Durarara!! anime’s Celty Sturluson and Mikado Ryūgamine, respectively- will appear at the second season’s stage event at the festival on October 5. The official Twitter account for the anime had hinted earlier this month that the cast members appearing at the stage event would be unveiled on Friday. The cast members that will voice characters such as Chikage Rokujo, Aoba Kuronuma, and others will be announced at the same stage event.

Also attending the Durarara!! mini stage event will be Ayahi Takagaki, the voice of Erika Karisawa from the first season. The actress will be returning for the stage event as a radio personality.

The official website for Durarara!!×2 released three new key visuals for the upcoming second season of the Durarara!! series. The key visuals include the new character Aoba Kuronuma as well as returning characters Kururi Orihara, Mairu Orihara, Shinra Kishitani, Celty Sturluson, Erika Karisawa, Walker Yumasaki, Kyohei Kadota, and Saburo Togusa.

Miyuki Sawashiro will return to her role as Celty Sturluson and Toshiyuki Toyonaga will reprise his role as Mikado Ryūgamine.

The official website for the Durarara!!×2 Shō anime began streaming a “renewed” promotional trailer on Tuesday. A similar trailer was shown at the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten (Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival) event on October 5, but the new promotional trailer adds more footage of Shizuo, Masaomi, and others, where the original video only had audio. The official Twitter account for the Durarara!!×2 Shō anime announced on Friday that the band OKAMOTO’S will contribute their new song “Headhunt” as the show’s opening theme.

The official website for Durarara!!×2 posted a preview for the background song “little world” on Wednesday. Saki Fujita, the voice of Ruri Hijiribe, will perform the song written by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the voice of Mikado Ryūgamine. The song will be included on Toyonaga’s debut album, Reason…, which ships on Wednesday.

OKAMOTO’S will perform the opening theme “Headhunt” and Three Lights Down Kings will perform the ending theme “Never Say Never.”
