either works for me…

Yep, from what I’ve seen the series borrows a good bit from those two shows … which is no bad thing.

This looks promising. Got it on my Summer 2015 radar.

Gate TV Anime: Ep 2 Preview

The manlier version of Outbreak Company

The lead in this might be the most respectable anime otaku character to date. Getting between him and his doujinshi is a mistake that you’ll only make once lol.

Episode 2-

[details=Spoiler]I know these are historical tactics, but this is one rotten emperor! And now he’s sending his daughter out to scout? A horrible father as well. The United States here is just as bad, letting someone else do all the dirty work, while they hope to reap the benefits.

But it seem that the Japanese army has standard procedure right so far, although I wonder how they intend to make friends of the natives after all that death. I can already tell that Itami is about to become reluctant hero in all of this. And of course he’s about to jinx himself when magical creatures are mentioned - a dragon, and fairies, and a sorceress, and perhaps even a cat girl. LOL Or better yet, magical girls! And we have a song to drive by!

Of course they run into the emperor’s “tactics” – in the form of a dragon. Scorched Earth policy indeed. With the help of a sudden thunder storm, they are able to look for survivors. Itami finds one - just one.[/details]

Ep. 01

All in all, not too bad.
It’ll be interesting to see where it goes from here and how serious this will get.

I guess the auto-correct kicked in with that.
I should fix it.

Gate TV Anime: Ep 2 Preview

2 episodes in an GATE is still going along well. I don’t want to get my expectations up though lol.

I still can’t believe that the wry radio operator isn’t supposed to be a child soldier as she’s extremely diminuitive (compared to the blue-haired female soldier)-barely bigger than her weapon-and very moe.

Ep. 3

Best Line Ever
"Fighting giant monsters is a Defense Force Tradition"
