High School DxD

After episode 6 High School DxD New chaanges it’s intro and ending. Let’s just say the 2nd Ending harkens back to Season 1’s ending, though it’s more cosplay than stripper lol.

I can’t say that I liked the ending theme to season 1 (brings back bad memories). I don’t think I ever made it through the whole ending credits for the series.

Here’s the new ending…

Nice of funi to confirm this but I didn’t think that they had to lol.

2015?! Not cool funi, not cool. Doesn’t this mean that haganai:next had a faster dub turnaround?

I can’t stand the sub on this one. Main female lead panders to an Oedipus complex and Asia is like something out of clannad in Japanese, but the dub “does it ironically” and thus it is tragic that funi can’t roll this one out faster.

They always confirm their home video rights.

I seem to recall funi taking flak a while back for being silent on announcements. Have to find it again @ funi forum.

They have to, unlike Sentai, they only get streaming rights initially, then go back and get Home Video rights for the popular stuff.

Exactly.
For many seasons now, they’ve made a definitive distinction in their seasonal announcements:
Streaming rights only
Streaming & Home Video rights.

For streaming only titles (which is the bulk of their seasonal licenses), they see whether it has done well enough for them to consider Home Video rights, if so, they re-negotiate and get Home Video rights, and when they do, they confirm the Home Video rights.

This has been going on this way for quite some time now.

Seeing how I never finished watching season 1, I’ll just skip this one.

All is good…

Awesome news.

BTW, why’d you italicize “Funimation”?

High School DxD DX.1 slated for March 2015

Now we have to cross our fingers and hope that Funimation brings this episode to the US and dubs it.

With both Funi’s release of DxD Season 2 and this new episode both slated for Winter 2015 I don’t have high hopes.

Generally, FUNi is good about getting extra episodes, but since it’s being released with the LN, it’s hard to say.

Maybe they can use the same “magic” that enables them to simuldub to get this episode onto the release of Season 2, which is scheduled for the same timeframe, but I’m not holding my breath. If we have to wait until Funimation releases Season 3, say, then that might be too long.

One thing Funimation isn’t all that good at nowadays is dubbing extras…

I doubt the JP company will let it be released near the same time since it’s an LN exclusive.
Though with the way FUNi works, if they do get it and want to release it with S2, that would delay the release of S2.

Which isn’t really saying much, since FUNi has so many delays anyways.

I can think of delays where Funimation subtracted content from a release (Fujiko Mine comes to mind) but I’m drawing a blank on a delay that they used to add content.

After Aquarion/Sankarea/Ben-to I’m pretty leery of Funimation delays. Any delay would have a very good shot at making DxD New release here 2 years after it started airing in Japan and that just isn’t cool, especially from a company that rushed Titan and Space Dandy.

It might just be a VA scheduling issue as a reason for the DxD S2 dub not being out until next year.

Funimation’s November release schedule has DXD New in both regular and Limited Editions. Somebody’s schedule must have opened up for them to get it out before the New Year.
