The Japanese publisher Fujimi Shobo announced that the television anime adaptation of Ichiei Ishibumi’s High School DxD light novel series is slated for this winter. The publisher also revealed the main staff for the anime and posted a promotional video for the franchise:
Original Creator: Ichiei Ishibumi (light novel) Original Illustration: Miyama-Zero Director: Tetsuya Yanagisawa Series Script Editor/Script: Takao Yoshioka Character Design: Junji Goto Production: GENCO Animation Production: TNK
The story follows Issei Hyodo, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student who is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Riasu, a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei’s campus.
I kind of see Sentai picking this up in the Winter season, just because it seems like something they’d get.
Or maybe, CrunchyRoll will pick it up (or both will).
In either case, I’m actually kind of interested in it.
The Japanese production company Media Factory began streaming a 131-second promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Ichiei Ishibumi’s High School DxD light novel series on Friday. Tetsuya Yanagisawa is directing at the anime studio TNK with script writer Takao Yoshioka and character designer Junji Goto.

The six monthly Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes for the High School DxD television anime series will ship between March 21 and August 22 of next year, and each volume will have an original video. Ichiei Ishibumi, the author of the light novels that inspired the anime series, is supervising the Moso Bakuyo Kaijo videos.
The first volume will also contain a collection of commercial clips and promotional videos. Each volume will bundle a CD, an exclusive clear case illustrated by original novel illustrator Miyama-Zero and anime character designer Junji Goto, color cards illustrated by Miyama, and a Moso Magazine-Yoru collection of production materials (including a short novel by Ishibumi, an illustrated message drawn by Miyama, and a collection of four eyecatch illustrations from the anime).

Justin mentioned this in the most recent http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anncast/2011-12-09, when he was talking about the stuff for this season’s Spotlight, but he brought it up again in the Spotlight thread, so I figured I’d share, since I found it rather humorous.

For some of the shows they just send me the colored design sheets, and for one of them (I just checked, it was High School DxD) those included up-close diagrams of how each female characters nipples looked both erect and relaxed. I knew it’d be a pervy show…
I will not be including them. Sorry guys, ANN is a (moderately) family-friendly site. :p[/quote]

Shoot, I can see Funi and MB getting into the fight and try and get this as well. It gonna be a three-way battle to the finish.

Well, I would say two way battle. I can’t see MB putting up much of a fight if Sentai or Funi want it. But I want to check this one out as well, so I’m hoping for Sentai.

I’m thinking more Funimation if anyone though Media Blasters has surprised me at times. Though considering that it starts tomorrow I’m not sure anyone got it. It may be one of those Japan wants to much for series.

The first airing (the 6th & again on the 10th) is on AT-X, which is probably an uncensored version.
It doesn’t start airing on other networks until the 11th.
THAT ISN’T AQUARION!!! You would think a sequel to a successful series would be an easy guess…
Funico shows seem to be doing worse that Aniplex’s shows on Nico Nico if going by comment count alone, I mean Last Exile has at most 5 two days after airing whereas Blood-C and Uta-Pri had upwards of 1000 that day.

TV anime premiered in Japan earlier this month; Funimation licensed High School DxD
The limited edition of Ichiei Ishibumi’s 15th High School DxD light novel volume will bundle a Blu-ray Disc with anime episode #14 when it ships next May. Ishibumi himself is writing the unaired episode, and the limited-edition set will include an exclusive variant cover.
The insert that is making the announcement is included with the 13th light novel volume, which will ship on September 20. That light novel volume is itself bundling episode #13 on a Blu-ray Disc. Ishibumi also wrote that episode. The same Blu-ray Disc containing episode #13 is also revealing that a second television anime season has been green-lit.
The first 12-episode television season premiered in Japan on January 6, and Funimation licensed the anime for North America. Funimation previously simulcast the series, and also plans to release it on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
